I’d inherited the “gift” from my mother who had gotten it from my grandmother and so on and so forth. They didn’t need me to pass messages back and forth. She seemed to have forgotten that I had refused to get involved.

If the murderer doesn't get her, the pup just might by opening the wrong box in her lab. But in his defense, who keeps a dragon in a bamboo box under bunkbeds?

To top everything off, she has a rogue Irishman calling, a partner trying to sell her collection, and a pup that thinks it's time to spring clean her cabin in the woods.
