To be fair it was fairly well written and had some interesting characters. I personally have a strong dislike for books where they don't get together until the book is mostly concluded. I also personally dislike bonding with one main character and then it changes. I had no desire to read the second book. That's a personal preference, but fair warning for anyone that shares my taste.
