"Call off the wedding, she doesn't want to marry you." I said.

I tried to duck under his arm and escape the proximity but his hand grabbed my shoulders and pinned me against the wall.

"This wedding is happening. Tell your sister to start preparing."

Then he let go and stepped back. I stood there, staring at him, my heart beating.

Serena would run away if the wedding doesn't get called off. Serena will disappear to where even I can't find her. I can't let that happen.

"Marry me instead." The words slipped out before I could stop them.

Scarlett Carrington never meant to offer herself up like that. Just to avoid being forced by her parents to marry a man old enough to be her father, Scarlett rebelled the only way she knew how, through scandals and one-night stands.
