They left two days later, and I lay down on the couch, utterly exhausted, and switched the television on. It was an odd setup they had, and I still had no idea if anything had happened with Amanda, Emory, and myself. A while later, I dozed off on the couch and was awoken by my ringing phone.

“Hello...
