Chapter 4 Sienna's pov

They say when you are about to die you can feel it.

That was what losing my wolf side meant to me. I could feel her silent, pain,agony and betrayal.

Tears flowed freely from my eyes as I tried to open them. But I was back in my room. I tried to sit up but I felt to weak.

Too weak to look at her.

She was seated right in front of me not sure of how to console me. She know I was hurting.

" What do you say, we leave this pack." My mother looked at me.

" Am where are we going to go?" I sniffled trying to clear my blocked nose.

" Anywhere. Just make the pack of your chosen." My mother looked at me.

" I can't do this to you, mum. You have grown to be here all your life. The people, the pack, the Alpha. This place is your life." I said with a teary eyes.

" I would do anything for you. I would go to the end of the world for you. If you say jump, I jump." Paulina said grabbing my hands.

" I am not leaving mother." I said cleaning the face.

" You should know that the people won't keep quiet. They are going to gossip about you until they feel like letting it go. Can you stand it?" Paulina asked

I don't know if I can't.

The shame, the ridicule was going to be too much to bear.

" Can you baby?" my mother cupped my face in her hands and I could see the tears in them.

" I am going to be strong mother and I would definitely get over it." I said with determination.

But my mother knew how long I have waited for Stephan, to make him love me.

" Why don't you show them that you are not bothered." My mother said sniffling too.

We both were now having running nose from trying to console ourselves.

Funny right.

" Why don't you work in the palace as a maid with me?" my mother said with a serious glance

" Are you for real,mum?" I asked, my eyes nearly popping out of their sockets.

" Yes, you can show Stephan you are over him and no longer day dreaming about when he is going. to return your love."

There was silence.

I was not sure if I was ready to enter that phase yet.

The wound was still fresh and the cut was deep.

"Okay, honey. Tate your time. I will be here when you need me." My mother said kissing me on the head.

I watched her get up.

" I have to take the night shift at the palace. Make sure that you eat and don't wait up for me." My mother said getting out of my cozy bed.

I smiled and waved her goodbye not knowing that was going to be the last time I ever saw her.

[ AFTER TWO DAYS ]

I looked at the food in front of me and I lost appetite. This was the second day my mother had told me she was going to the palace.

She was suppose to be back by now. I have to look for her.

I grabbed my coat and head out. My hoodied was drawn to cover my eyes but yet, the people could see through it.

" Is that Selena?"

" You mean the girl that became wolfless after the rejection."

" How do you know she is the one?"

" I can smell her wolflessness."

" She reeks of it!"

I could hear that. Their eyes on me and their voices of scorn.

One of them flipped my hoodie over.

" See, I knew it was her." He said instantly.

I couldn't take it anymore.

I looked at the palace ahead and turned. Running back home.

Maybe I need to wait till night fall. I don't have to go now. I can just go in the night and check up on mother.

I said repeatedly trying not to feel guilty. I should be bold like her, fearless. But I was not Paulina.

I was nothing like my mother,brave, strong and agile

I got back in with the door closed behind me.

My heart heaving as I tried to calm down.

I draw the curtain trying to keep the prying out of the people away.

I sat on the table staring at my covered food.

Maybe I needkre time to adjust to the name I was given. My mind went back to Stephan and Olivere wondering how happy they must felt together while I wallow in self pity.

The sound of the tick of the clock was the only sound in the room. And the steady beat of my heart.

I kept my gaze on the clock. I need to get out of the house, i need to find her.

As soon as it was past 8. I peeped out of the curtains and saw everywhere was dark. I was about to step out when I heard the alarm bell.

I stopped abruptly.

The bell was ranged only in time of emergency so what the hell a happened. I knew one thing, the palace was the only place where I could get the full gist.

I walked fast in anticipation of seeing my mother and asking her what is going on. But then I noticed the guards were doubled. Each on the look out.

" What the hell Is going on?" I said slowly.

I was about walking towards the main gate when a hand grabbed me. I froze, my heart jumped a bita and I felt something I wasn't supposed too.

My wolf, she stirred.

She was back!
