Chapter 3 Sienna's pov

" Mate!"

" He is our mate and we are going to claim him!" My wolf voiced out.

I know I was suppose to be thrilled, I was hearing her voice for the first time but why do I feel depressed. I looked at the look on Alpha Marius face and back to his son's face.

It was clear they do not want me.

" Is this some kind of twisted joke?"

" How can a mere maid's daughter be the Luna of a great pack like ours?"

" Wait? Do you even think Stephan is going o honor the mate bond? He loathes her."

" And gosh, look at her mother. How pathetic!"

I could hear the whispers and there harsh words but I wasn't concerned.

At least not yet, not now.

All I needed was to hear me say it. All I wanted was to feel his soft skin, his gentle lips pressed against mine and tell me the four words I have been dying to hear.

I LOVE YOU, SELENA.

But instead, I was met with his harsh gaze. A gaze that speaks volumes telling me he never wanted the bond. He never loved me.

As if they were all waiting for the evident answer to our bond mate.

" Do you even think for a second that I am going to accept you, get married to a no body like you?" Stephan's face contorted in anger. " You are beneath me, Selena. You are worthless!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the grand hall.

I clenched my fist in anger. At that moment, I could feel the ground shift beneath my feet Andi felt it could open up and swallow me whole.

I looked at my mother who felt ashamed. Not of me but the fact that I was humiliated in front of the entire pack.

" I don't get it, why do you love me so much when there are men dying out there to have a breeder. Would you like me to recommend you to one?"

A thrilling laughter resonated through the hall and I kept my gaze fixed to the floor, ashamed, humiliated. I watched their faces as they laughed.

And god, I felt like strangling Juliet. She never liked me, all she cared about was running after Olivere whose father was not only the Beta to the kingdom but was in charge of the soldiers.

" So what now? The moon goddess made a exception. I can choose who I want and I don't know why you think it has to be you." Stephan snapped.

" Because I love you " I said immediately falling to my knees.

[ CROWD GASP ]

" She is desperate."

" And so is her wretched mother.."

" Can a leopard change its skin?"

" She should just accept her fate and learn to live the way she is."

" I would have her killed on the spot if I were Stephan."

I could hear their opiniond but I am waiting for his voice and opinion.

I saw Stephan looking at his father, like he was waiting to hear Stephan's judgement.

And Olivere, she was clinging to his arms like he was going to chose me after everything.

" Since you don't want to accept the fact that I can never be yours, then why don't we have it this way." Jason said finally and my heart skipped a bit.

" What is he about to do?"

" Don't say."

" Is he?"

" Jason is about to severe the mate bond."

" He cannot."

The rules guiding the mate bond in the pack was special. When denounced by your mate, your wolf slowly dies and never to be awaken.

My heart skipped, colour drained from my face and I could see the amusement in her face. Like she had been waiting all along.

" I.. Stephan.."

Stephan about to say another world when my mother fell to her knees.

I heard the loud thud.

The knees of a woman who would do anything for her child. The crowd parted ways like the Alpha himself was stepping down from his throne, walking to see me.

I looked around and I could see the look on their faces.

Humiliation, smirks.

" What is she doing?"

" She should have trained her well."

"And what does she plan to accomplish by kneeling before him?"

Stephan turned to look at my mother and for a bit, I thought he was going to show some leniency.

His heels clinking against the marbles as he walked.

He scott in front of me mother and laughed. " Do you want to see what happens to a child that lacks home training? You should have thought about this when you encourage your daughter to lust her me." Stephan said rubbing the salt in.

" Lust?"

" Is he calling her a slut?"

" Have they?"

Diana and Dianne the twin form the most ruthless house said with disdain in their voices.

My heart bled seeing the only person I cherrish in the world humiliated because of love.

Then my mother said the word I never imagine her to say.

"We are going to leave. We would live and never come back."

A ripple of laughter went through the entire all and for a moment, I wish I could kill all of them all.

I looked at their faces and I could see the amusement. They basked in my frustration and anger but all I could do was stare at them and do nothing.

" And who is going to attend to my father's needs if you leave. Do you think I am stupid? I know what you are doing. You are going to stay here and serve until your death. You are slave, Paulina. Don't dream of freedom."

For a moment, I was frozen.

I don't understand what that meant but I knew Stephan knew something. I watched him walking back to me and my heart thud.

One thing was certain now, even my mother can not save me. And then I heard the word he had been dying to say to me.

" I Stephan Grenville, I hereby reject you Selena Gomez as my mate."

At that moment, I felt weakened.
