Chapter 8 Bianca Silverclaw

"How do you know my name?" Nathan asked, his eyes darting round for a way to escape his current predicament.

"You're really asking me that?" She asked in a cold voice then continued "Who doesn't know of the Frostmoon family's third heir, born to the concubine but considered as part of the main family because of the family head's love for him." 

"Yeahh, I must be dumb for asking such a question in the first place, right?" 

"Reflex actions, you asked based on instincts. I'd say I expected more of you but well, I already learned to lower my expectations a whole lot, especially for outgrown kids like you who rely on their families for every little thing." She said while walking towards him with slow, measured steps.

"What exactly do you want? A ransom? Or you just want to kill me?" Nathan asked, his heart gradually calmed down, already aware of the sore fact that his fear wouldn't change the outcome no matter how much he tried.

"No, I gain nothing from killing you right now. I called you over because you have something that belongs to me." She said, her face stopping precariously close to his then raised her right hand and pressed it down against his heart.

"Uhm--, I stole your heart? I don't recall ever doing such a thing to someone with such divine radiance as yours."

"No, not that." She said in a soft voice then removed her arm and turned to lean against a tree with legs folded.

"What do you know about bio-engineered humans?" She asked, her hands reaching for her hood then pulling it down to reveal a fair face with a smooth skin, her most attractive feature however were her blood red eyes which seemed to attract anyone who stared into them for long.

"Bio-engineered humans, humans who gain supernatural abilities after either getting reconfigured and dissected or taking a Ranicis serum?" Nathan replied, his fear had slowly doused out and he was regaining his composure.

'It doesn't look like she's here to kill me or she would've done so already.'

"Mhmm, that will save me from the stress then. You know what they are and how we get our abilities already." 

"Which one of them is yours?" Nathan asked curiously.

"I don't know." 

"You don't know?" 

"Yeah, I've had it for as long as I can remember, I grew up with it." She said, took in a deep breath then continued "Our powers work differently from each other, for me my power source is channeled from my life core, which I gave you to save you from death." 

"Life core? Wait wait, I don't understand a thing you said just now, you saved me?" 

"Are you dumb? I obviously said that just now, do you want me to repeat it?" She said, her eyes fixed on him with such intensity that it could bore holes into him.

"Sorry ma'am." He said with a bow so low he could nearly kiss the ground.

"You're a disgrace." She said with a look of disdain on her face, making Nathan's face twitch with partial anger, partial because he didn't intend to act on it, he did not dare to!

"I hate owing people debts, you risked your life just to save mine so I'll save you also in return, now we are even." 

'I didn't do it for her though, it was basically saving myself. What's wrong with her?' 

"Yes of course, we're even! Can I leave now?" 

"No." 

"Okay thanks a lot fo--" he said in a rush then turned to leave when her eyes suddenly gave off a dark red glow, a long dark red mark spread out from her arms creating three huge lines, clean and smooth just a few feet away from Nathan.

"Come. Back. Here." 

"Okay ma'am, Nathan Frostmoon at your service, what do you want? I'll give up even my life to fulfill your wishes!" 

"Don't you dare do that. Remember this, my life core is now with you so cherish whatever time you have left, that's my power source and the moment you die I will also be affected." She said with a glare.

"Ei? So we're basically bound together?" 

"In the sense that I need to recharge whenever I'm drained out, which is usually once a few days. Yes, I can't stay far away till I can find a lasting solution to it." She replied then pulled her hood back up to cover her face.

"Let's go." 

"Pardon? Go where?" Nathan asked with twitching eyebrows.

She tilted her head to the side then replied "Our home, I'm hungry." 

"Our???" 

'What the fuck is this?' 

"Yes, you saved me by firing that shot back there or I would be captured again, so I gave you my life core in return but let's be honest. Even after I saved you you still owe me more, so for the coming period of time till I can find a lasting solution you have to provide anything I want and follow my orders." 

"What if I don't?" Nathan asked, his back was already drenched in sweat thinking of what awaited him once he was back in the mansion.

'Right, what do I tell Silas?' 

"If you don't obey I'll just take my life core but I doubt you would survive that, so while we're both dependent on each other right now your life is actually in my palms, you had better follow my orders or I could end your life with something as simple as a snap of my fingers." She replied with a smirk, lighting up her face in the dark forest.

"I don't believe your bluff, you said you would also be affected if I died so what do you mean now?" 

"Affected, there are levels to it and if I really intend to I could just retract my life core and you'll be the only one affected." 

'She wants something from me, that's also why she called me here and why she's still keeping me alive, she definitely wants something.' Nathan thought, his mind wandering towards different thoughts and possibilities of what she could probably want from him.

"Okay, let's go home." Nathan said with an awkward smile, he had already accepted his fate once Silas found out about this incident.

Her eyes lit up the moment she heard Nathan's words "Lead the way, let's go." 

"Alright, by the way I still don't know your name, or why they were trying to capture you." 

She stopped for a moment, seemingly hesitating before she replied "Bianca, that's my name, Bianca Silverclaw."
