Chapter 4 A Braindead Moron Called Jack

A total of four men had gathered to kidnap a single girl and to make it worse? The four weren't even normal humans or soldiers, four genetically modified humans gathering together for a mission related to kidnapping was simply unprecedented, the event brought a single thought to Nathan's mind.

'Her identity is most definitely not normal.' 

Most human related operations would never warrant a genetically modified human taking action, each cost a fortune and were treated as treasures strictly controlled and operated by the four families, aside from a few rogues that managed to get their hands on the low tier serums to commit shady crimes.

The four were probably rogues who got their hands on the serums one way or the other and had embarked on a mission to kidnap the teen slung over Alex's shoulder.

Aeric still had Nathan's dagger held in his hand while Jack gripped tightly onto him. A wide grin was etched on Aeric's face, thinking of the fortunes he would get from the successful ploys they had pulled off.

"The one thing we need to do now, is to leave Stormguard city and the rest will be easy as fuck." He said then turned to leave, keeping the knife secure in his pocket with Jack following right behind.

Nathan slowly raised his head to glance at the other two standing a few meters away when the teen on Alex's shoulder suddenly trembled, a chill ran through Alex's spine as he pulled onto the cuffs in an attempt to keep her in place but the next moment--

Clang! 

Bang!!

The sounds of cuffs breaking apart rang across the silent and dark forest, followed by a pale red gleam that cleaved through Alex's right arm holding the teen.

"Arrrrrggghhhh!!!" Alex screamed out in pain, with his right arm gone the teen fell onto the ground. She placed her left arm on the floor, twisted it to the right then flew back up with a start, regaining her balance in an instant and swiped her hand across Alex's neck!

His eyes opened wide then he dropped onto the ground, the loud thud echoing the fears of the other four and their hearts beating rapidly.

Nathan couldn't believe his eyes and felt a sense of nausea hit him, the whole series of events from the chain cracking to his death didn't take up to two seconds, it was also why even Alex couldn't react to the attack. It was simply too fast for him to process, especially with the pain from losing his right arm.

'It makes sense now, she's also a bio-engineered human, that would explain the reason why they would need four others to capture her, especially when she's as strong as this.' 

"Jack stop watching like a fucking broken remote control piece you fucking moron, drop that kid over there and let's deal with this first!" Aeric screamed out then leaned downwards, his back arched inwards as a surge of blue glow lit up along his spine.

Jack, who was stunned silly by Alex's death, looked to the right then hurled Nathan towards a nearby tree without a single care.

Bang!

The moment Nathan made impact with the tree he could swear the world lost their colors for a few moments, his eyes turned bleak while his body shut down all functions.

'Don't they want the bounty anymore? You won't get any money if I'm dead, be a little calm will you?' 

"Stay there kid, don't you dare take a single step away from that tree or I'll make you regret your very own existence." Jack said then turned to the girl who was now encircled by Aeric and Nelson. He raised a foot and extended it forwards, his body slowly expanding from nearly two meters tall to over two meters tall, muscles stretched out visibly with a pulsing glow shining across their surface.

"You killed Alex." He said in a rusty voice, eyes flowing with a hint of madness.

The teen refused to reply but stood between the three who surrounded her, sealing off her paths to escape but at the same time watching her for any signs of movements.

"Give up, you're outnumbered." Aeric said in a cold voice, his eyes had changed color to a deep shade of blue, same as his veins and spine which transformed him into something similar to a children's Christmas tree lit at night but with only blue colors.

Jack in his giant form stood to the north, the last of them Nelson had sharp blades extending from his arms and upper limb, his eyes were a deep shade of black, all four of them stood without making any signs of movements, observing each other and waiting for the first person to act or reveal a flaw.

The teen simply lowered her head to Aeric's words, her white hair cascading down over her eyes and slender nape, a smile lit up on her face then she said "If I give up, will you let me go?" 

"Letting you go is beyond my sole capabilities, I am not the only one here so you'll probably need the consent of the other three to leave safely but unfortunately the votes are no longer balanced since one of us is already dead." 

"Loads of crap, you never intended to let me go anyways." The teen then took a step forward with a red glow lighting up on her right arm when her eyes suddenly opened wide in fright.

"The Neurotoxin given to you has already neutralized seventy percent of your nervous system, your body is clearly screaming it needs a rest and wants to shut down, your muscles are fatigued yet you think you can face off against all three of us? Laughable!" He said with a wide grin then leaped forward, pulling out the very same dagger he collected from Nathan just moments ago and swung it outwards in a wide arc.

The teen leaned backwards then raised her arms to block the knife only for it to break through and create a lasting slash on her right palm.

Jack followed up with a punch at the teen who leaped sideways to dodge it but he pulled onto a tree nearly half a meter wide nearby, broke it apart then slammed it on her.

"You braindead mother fucker don't you dare kill her!" Aeric screamed out but what followed was a red gleam of light which cut through the tree all the way to Jack's arm and ripped apart his flash creating multiple slash marks on it.

Jack did not groan in pain, he didn't even feel it as he watched the wounds close up within just three seconds.

The teen stood with her hair slowly parted sideways to reveal her dark red eyes with claws stretched out "You had better do more than this if you really want to capture me, or you might end up being the prey instead."
