Chapter 13 First Mission! {Mission Type: Assasination}

"William, do you know what you've done? Are you aware of the repercussions of your actions??!" Lucien said in anger, his hands clenched tightly to the point they were nearly bleeding.

"Oh, I still haven't figured out how what I did was bad." William replied without a care which made Lucien even more furious.

"You bastard! You just beat her to the point of no return, her systems are totally disabled and she's in an unstable state currently, for goodness sake you're two full tiers above her. Why don't you have some sense of shame?" 

William simply shrugged Lucien off then replied "What's there to be ashamed of? Aside from the fact that she's younger than me, her talent rating is higher than mine, logically she should be stronger than me right?" 

"No, talent doesn't mean strength." Lucien replied without hesitation.

"Exactly! Are you just getting it? You're so focused on her future talent and more you can achieve with her but you are neglecting the sore fact that all she has are those barrages of "talents" but nothing in reality to show for it."

"But did you have to beat her to a near death state? Can you take on the blame if she can't wake up afterwards?" 

"I sure will take the blame but trust me Lucien, she will live. Probably because you are not a bio-engineered human but we work in different ways from normal humans, you could even say we are no longer humans but a branch species, wounds of that level are nothing but scabs to a normal human, she probably just fainted from the shock. Give her a few more hours and she'll be back on her feet." Just when the two were arguing Eldric walked into the room, his face blank and dull as he reported.

"The young lady just woke up a few minutes ago and she advanced two levels and is already on the verge of proceeding into the fusion tier." 

"Fusion tier? After showing no signs of improvement for months?" Lucien nearly screamed out in excitement, he was already getting frustrated by Bianca's progress which had seemed to stagnate for a long time only for her to make such a huge leap once again.

"Yes, I was also as surprised as you when I found out." Eldric said, even though he did say he was "surprised" his facial expression didn't change for a single second but Lucien didn't pay attention to this as it was already a trait of Eldric he was long used to.

He turned to look at William who, just like he expected, had a huge grin on his face.

"Fine, you win this one." 

"Of course I won, I didn't expect anything less." William replied with a shrug.

"But hey, this should give you some ideas about her attitude. Currently she has no need or passion to actually get strong, you're placing her through repeated torture like tests and harsh trainings but she's already used to them, with no reason to get stronger or push her forward she would obviously stagnate. She needs competitions, and challenges that would set her back multiple times, for that she can't stay here forever." William said with arms crossed.

This time Lucien could only let out a sigh before agreeing to William's suggestion. "Alright, so you suggest we send her out?" 

"Not just send her out, give her missions, tough ones that would actually be really tough for her, by following this format I'm sure she would get stronger over time." 

"But she's still twelve and a little weak, would sending her out really work out?" 

"Of course we're not going to send her out yet, I'll keep training her here till she's fifteen years old, once she clocks fifteen we'll send her out to train, by then she should be well used to the fusion realm." William replied with fingers twirling round each other, deep in thought.

"I'll assign missions for her to follow." 

"Alright, I'll need to run more checks on her to ensure she's fine." 

"Go do your thing, I'm not interested in needles."

Three years later

William stood to the side, still the same muscular man with rippling muscles albeit a little bulkier and larger than before with tiny strands of white hair on his hair.

Lucien didn't age much but the signs of time were still visible on his body, despite that he was still agile and nimble as he walked over to the compartment where a surgical table was placed with multiple dissecting objects placed on it.

"Where's she?" William asked while rubbing his palms together.

"On her way, I sent Eldric to call her over." Lucien replied, slowly arranging the surgical equipment on the working bench with precision.

"So what do you intend to give her as her first mission?" 

William paused for a few seconds before replying "I honestly don't know yet, will probably make one up at the last moment and upload it into her life core once it's modified." 

After a few minutes Bianca walked into the surgical room, taller and more mature than the twelve year old who was beaten around like a piece of rag years ago. Her white hair draped over her face, covering her dark red eyes which glowed with a dark gleam especially in the darkness.

"I'm here." 

Lucien gestured to the table then ordered "Come  over." 

Following every order like a mechanical robot she slowly walked towards the surgical table then lay down on it, her hands bound down by the cuffs and pins arranged on it but she didn't even flinch for even a single second.

After passing through different forms of torture for over a decade minor things like this didn't even tickle her anymore.

Lucien picked up a surgical knife made with a metal coated with a light purple sheen then cut it into her arm, all the way from the upper arm to her lower arm then split it open.

Bianca felt the pain, she could feel it ringing all through her body but didn't scream out all through the process, not even when Lucien was implanting the nano mechanics into her nervous stream or was closing it up.

Not when he made the strange tattoo mark on her body either, that same tattoo everyone in the facility had, it was probably the prerequisite for them before they could leave for some reason.

"It's done, it's over Bianca, time to prepare for your first mission." Lucien said, calling Bianca out of her trance then removed her cuff but she was too distracted to notice that, by a transparent screen that suddenly appeared just a meter away from her.
