Chapter 11 Hundreds Of Billions Spent, Decades Wasted: All For A Chance
For fair comparison the normal atmospheric pressure is about 750mmHg and boiling point is a hundred degree Celsius {100°C}, what happens when you dip a human into a liquid boiling with a temperature of 180°C compacted by the immense pressure?
This was exactly what young Bianca was facing at that very moment.
Glug... glug... glug...
She tried to scream, scratch or pull herself out from the capsule where she was enclosed along with multiple others similar to hers, altogether numbering over seventy.
Lucien and Alaric stood on an elevated platform, watching the capsules undergo the transmission process with calm faces after all, this wasn't the first time they would be performing such experiments but this time there was something different.
"How's she faring?" Lucien asked Alaric whose eyes were fixed on the screen displaying the status of all the capsules undergoing the transmission process.
"For now, she's still stable." He replied.
"Head researcher Lucien you don't have worry, she is a special specimen and won't die that easily, fused with the Ranicis core from a very young age if she really were to die due to a submissive transmission from it I doubt anyone else would be able to survive it." Another researcher standing nearby named Eldric said with a smile.
The three watched Bianca who was still soaked in the capsule, crying and gurgling, trying to force her way out of the tube all to no avail. The worst part was the liquid in which she was immersed into, the liquid seeped into her pores a drip at a time but every drip penetrated deep into her nervous system and body, rearranging her cells and even her neurone cells from the inside out, a gradual process that was worse than any sort of torture ever imaginable.
It felt like opening up a wound then grinding tiny stones over the wound's surface to peel it open even further, the only difference was.... This was a hundred times more painful than that!
"Argghh~~ glug... glug...."
"If she really can survive all the transmission processes this would be a very significant scientific breakthrough." Lucien said with a glint in his eyes.
"She will survive this one, I'm not sure about the rest but dying at this stage is basically impossible." Eldric said confidently which made Lucien raise an eyebrow in question.
"Why exactly are you so confident she will survive it? Even the strongest humans are not sixty percent certain they would be able to survive the transmission processes which is why most opt for low tier transmissions and the injections."
"You'll know, soon enough, you'll know."
---
"Bianca, how are you feeling today? Is anything wrong?"
Startled by the voice behind her Bianca turned with a start to find a man over 1.7 meters tall with a scrawny beard and eerie grin etched on his face standing right behind her.
"Who are you?" She asked in a cold voice, she was already used to the fact that at least most in the facility knew of her name so she wasn't surprised about that.
After over seven years of being researched on and subjected to different experiments and brutal lessons she had forgotten all about the cheerful and happy side of hers, all that remained was a cold twelve year old girl who was on alert most of the time with aversion to those in the facility.
"Nice to meet you Bianca, I've heard of you and your reputation surely wasn't for nothing. My name is William and I will be your combat instructor from today onwards."
"Another one?" Bianca asked with a frown, her voice appeared bored and desolate, she obviously wasn't interested in going through the process of having another combat instructor parry away with her for a few months before leaving.
"Yes, another one but this time I'll be your permanent combat instructor, those sent before me were sent here to access you and train for the upcoming challenges." He said with a grin, his words obviously filled with pride and arrogance.
"Mhmm, okay." Bianca replied with a simple nod then turned away.
"Do you need me for anything right now?"
"Ye--"
"Great, then I'll take my leave." Before William could complete his words she turned away then dashed away from the hallway, leaving behind a trace of red glow and William who could only let out a bitter smile.
He could have chased after her but decided against it instead. "There will be many other opportunities, let her go this time."
He turned round then vanished from his position, reappearing in a wide room where a figure with broad and wide shoulders stood with arms crossed.
"How was it?" The figure asked without turning to check who suddenly appeared in the room.
"She was able to detect my presence, that alone is impressive. Besides that, her speed is also very impressive, once I am able to access her full abilities and strength, the grades and current transmission limit I'll be able to decide on a path for her to follow then we can fully commence with the missions." William replied with a short bow.
"Very well, do not disappoint me. I've already spent hundreds of billions on this very project, decades of years and resources all for this very moment, the risks I've taken and everything depends on whether this batch will be able to produce significant results even better than the last one."
"We will not fail your trust sire, I would rather die than do that.”
