Chapter 5 Hatred Begins At Home

As Rohit steps outside, he notices that Samar’s car is already gone.

He mutters to himself in irritation, “Great. He just left me here and drove off? Now what… should I walk home? And of course, I didn’t even bring my own car today!”

He stands there frustrated, looking around, when suddenly a car pulls up nearby.

A beautiful eighteen - year - old girl steps out of it. She has big dark eyes, a round innocent face, and a natural charm. Her long hair is tied in a ponytail, and she is wearing a long top with jeans. Her entire appearance exudes a sweet, pure vibe, as if she were straight out of a fairytale.

She hurries toward Rohit and, in a soft and innocent voice, says, “Sir… you’re here?”

Rohit looks at her and, with a frown and a touch of attitude, replies, “Yeah, so? What’s it to you?”

Hearing his cold tone, the girl’s cheerful expression instantly fades, and her face turns sad.

Ruhi speaks gently, her voice filled with kindness. “If you need to go somewhere, you can come with me. I was just heading home from college.”

But Rohit, still angry, snaps, “I’m not going anywhere with you.”

His harsh words make Ruhi’s eyes well up with tears. She looks down for a moment, then softly says, “Alright stay here then and walk to the office. I’m leaving.”

Rohit looks around. The truth is, he really doesn’t have another option. The office is far, and the sun is blazing. He mutters with attitude, “Fine since you’re insisting so much, I’ll come with you. Otherwise, I could’ve walked just fine.”

Ruhi makes a face but says nothing. Rohit gets into the car and sits on one side, while Ruhi quietly slips into the back seat. Then the driver starts the car.

Inside the car, silence takes over.

Ruhi keeps glancing at Rohit quietly, as if trying to understand the anger on his face. Rohit, meanwhile, stares out of the window, annoyed and deliberately avoiding her eyes.

After a short drive, the car stops outside Samar’s office. Rohit is about to get out when Ruhi suddenly grabs his hand. He turns to her, surprised.

She looks at him with soft eyes, her voice trembling with innocence. “It’s been so long you haven’t come home. If you ever get time, please visit us.”

Rohit angrily pulls his hand away and says, “I’m not some jobless person like you, got it? I’m only being respectful because you’re Sir’s sister. You'd better learn to stay within your bounds.”

Without waiting for her response, he steps out of the car and walks straight into the office. Behind him, Ruhi’s eyes fill with tears.

A few minutes later, Ruhi quickly gets out of the car, grabs her college bag, and hurries inside the building. Without wasting a second, she heads straight toward Samar’s private elevator.

The moment the employees see her, they stand up respectfully. Everyone knows Ruhi, Samar’s younger sister who often drops by unannounced.

Ruhi flashes a cute smile at everyone and rushes into the elevator like it’s her own home. As the doors close, the employees chuckle softly.

The elevator stops at the top floor, and the moment the doors open, Ruhi runs straight toward Samar’s cabin.

Inside, Samar and Rohit are busy discussing something seriously, a laptop open in front of them.

As soon as Ruhi enters, both of them look up.

Rohit groans inwardly, thinking, “Oh God… this girl again?”

Ruhi runs behind Samar’s chair and hugs him from behind. “Bro! How are you?”

She drops into the chair next to him as if she owns the place. He sighs. “Ruhi, how many times have I told you not to come here like this?”

She pouts. “Why not? You never come home. And now I shouldn’t even come to see you? Mumma, Papa, and Neeti we all miss you so much.”

Rohit deliberately looks away, pretending he isn’t interested. Samar gently pats Ruhi’s head. “How’s Neeti?”

“She’s doing fine,” Ruhi replies.

She pulls out a small box from her bag and opens it. Inside are homemade besan laddus made with pure ghee. The sweet aroma fills the room instantly, and Rohit’s mouth starts watering.

Ruhi smiles at Samar and says, “Mumma made a big batch yesterday, so I saved some for you.”

She feeds one laddu to Samar, who smiles and eats it happily. Then she turns to Rohit with another laddu. “You should eat one too, or my brother’s stomach will start hurting!”

Rohit blinks. “What kind of logic is that?”

Ruhi simply smiles and stuffs the laddu into his mouth before he can protest. Rohit glares at her with his mouth full, while she sits there smiling innocently.

Ruhi hands the box to Samar. “Bro, Neeti and I will come to your villa soon just make sure you lock Xem away.”

Samar smirks. “Nope. I’ll lock you in with Xem.”

Ruhi frowns adorably. “Nooo! Lock Mr. Aryan instead!”

Rohit stares at her, wondering whether she’s teasing him or driving him crazy or both.

Ruhi grabs her bag, hugs Samar tightly, and says, “Bye Bro, love you sooo much!”

And just like that, she leaves, spreading warmth and laughter behind her. After she goes, the room falls into a brief, peaceful silence.

Suddenly, Samar picks up the box of laddus, walks to the dustbin, and throws it inside without a second thought.

Rohit freezes. “Sir! What are you doing?”

Samar shoots him a cold, piercing glare. Rohit falls silent immediately.

After a moment, Rohit says softly, “She brought those for you with so much love.”

Samar’s voice turns deep and bitter. “I hate every person in that house except my sisters.”

Rohit mutters, hurt, “Well… you could’ve given them to me.”

Samar snaps, “Then go eat them out of the dustbin.”

Rohit smirks weakly. “Sir, eating from trash doesn’t suit the manager of SR Empire.”

Samar shakes his head slightly.

Rohit grins. “So… when are you bringing Sister-in-law home?”

Samar snaps his head up. “Sister - in - law?”

Rohit slaps his forehead. “You forgot already? You got married today!”

Samar growls, “That wasn’t a marriage. It was a deal.”

“But she’s coming to your villa tomorrow,” Rohit adds.

“She’s not your Sister-in-law,” Samar snaps.

Rohit chuckles. “I’ll still call her Sister-in-law.”

Samar glares. Rohit bolts out instantly, and Samar stands alone.

Meanwhile, a car moves quietly down the road and stops before a massive white villa. Bold letters shine at the entrance:

RAJPUT MANSION.
