Luna’s bedroom door stands at the end. Behind it—snarling, the crash of furniture, the raw sound of someone losing herself.

Two guards keep their distance.

“She’s too dangerous to approach,” one mutters. “Healer said stay out till the peak passes.”

“And if she rips her own throat out?” I ask.
