Diana Nora smiled self-deprecatingly. “How could the Nora family possibly be worthy of negotiating with the Confidd Consortium? They wouldn’t even give us a second glance. Even the Delaton family, represented by Ruth Nora’s fiancé, Chasell Delaton, can barely even have a few words with the Confidd Consortium. Grandma is desperately hoping that Ruth Nora and Chasell Delaton will get married soon, so she can use the Delaton family’s influence to climb up the social ladder and connect with the Confidd Consortium.”

Wayne Sosie nodded upon hearing this.

It turns out that the Noras had such plans in mind. But Wayne Sosie knew full well that a conglomerate like Confi, a giant in Carlisle, couldn’t be manipulated by just one or two families.

But things are different now, as the ConocoPhillips conglomerate has changed hands starting today.

And Wayne Sosie is actually the largest shareholder of the ConocoPhillips conglomerate. The Nora family probably never imagined that the person they had been eagerly seeking to cooperate with was actually the worthless son-in-law they had always looked down on.

Wayne Sossi turned his head slightly, looking at Diana Nora, who was already fast asleep, with a tender expression on his face. A confident smile appeared on his lips.

The next morning, Wayne Sosie got up early, prepared breakfast, and rushed out the door.

Before long, Wayne Sosie arrived at the ConocoPhillips headquarters on his electric scooter. Just as he locked the scooter and was about to enter, he happened to meet a young couple coming out of the parking lot.

The man, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, looked very stylish. He wore a luxurious watch on his wrist, and his face showed signs of confidence and enthusiasm. Beside him was a woman with heavy makeup and elaborate attire, smiling as she held the man’s arm.

These two were Ruth Nora and Chasell Dryden. Wayne Sosie frowned slightly upon seeing them. He hadn’t expected to run into those annoying guys here.

So Wayne Sosie didn’t intend to greet them. He planned to ignore them and walk straight into the building. But things didn’t go as planned. Suddenly, a sarcastic voice was heard.

“Oh, isn’t that my brother-in-law!”

Ruth Nora smiled faintly, sizing up Wayne Sosie from head to toe, as if examining a piece of merchandise. There was a mocking, disdainful smirk on her lips.

“Mm.” Wayne Sosie, realizing he couldn’t avoid it, simply stopped trying. He gave Ruth Nora a bland nod.

“Hehehe, brother-in-law, what are you doing here?” Ruth Nora had actually seen Wayne Sosie earlier that day. The reason she went up to him was to find an opportunity to humiliate him properly.

Ruth Nora no longer hid her jealousy and hatred toward her cousin. Ever since Diana Nora married Wayne Sosie, Ruth Nora went to extreme lengths to humiliate Wayne Sosie by every possible means. In her mind, this was tantamount to humiliating Diana Nora herself. This sense of satisfaction made her unable to stop.

“Ah, what I do seems to have little to do with you, doesn’t it?” Wayne Sosie never felt much fondness for Ruth Norabian, and he wasn’t bothered enough to put on any act of affectionate closeness with her.

“I guess, judging by his pathetic appearance, he’s probably here to look for a job!” Chasell Dryden glanced at Wayne Sosie with disdain, as if he were looking at a piece of trash.

“Oh dear, if you’ve come here looking for a job, then things are going to be difficult for you. The Confidd Consortium isn’t some kind of garbage dump. People like you, who are completely worthless, are completely unneeded by us!” Ruth Nora smirked, revealing her mockery.

“That goes without saying. Even when a garbage collection site recycles waste, it has to be sorted first. People like you, who are completely useless and harmful, should be classified as hazardous waste. You’re simply not recyclable!” Chasell Delaton joined in with his fiancée, mocking Wayne Sosie right in his face.

Wayne Sosie sneered upon hearing this, wearing an indifferent expression, as if Chasell Drayton wasn’t insulting him at all. Wayne Sosie didn’t bother to argue with those worthless people. Why waste time on such petty people? It would only lower his own status.

Seeing Wayne Sosie’s indifferent attitude, Chasell Delaton’s face darkened immediately. He had long resented Wayne Sosie. How could such a good-for-nothing guy manage to marry a beauty like Diana Nora? This filled Chasell Delaton with hatred.

Initially, Chasell Delayton went to great lengths to pursue Diana Nora. However, Diana Nora wouldn’t even look at him. So, he reluctantly turned to Ruth Nora, who wasn’t nearly as good as Diana Nora in every way.

However, what Chasell Delaton could least accept was that Diana Nora actually chose to marry Wayne Sosie, such a worthless loser. Did that mean Chasell Delaton was even worse than a worthless loser?

At the thought of these things, Chassell Delaton couldn’t help but feel a surge of jealousy. Every time he got the chance, he wanted to trample on Wayne Sosie mercilessly and crush him underfoot.

“A waste will always be a waste. There’s no hope for someone like that! Look at my Chassell—he’s a real talent. This time, he’s here to discuss potential partnerships with Vivian Warner, the vice-chairperson of the Conferi Consortium. After all, the Drayton family has business relationships with the Conferi Consortium! I’m sure everything will go smoothly this time!” Ruth Nora giggled. Full of vanity, she couldn’t help but boast about it to Wayne Sosie.

Is Chasell Delaton here to discuss a project with the ConocoPhillips consortium?

Wayne Sosie was slightly taken aback. He hadn’t expected that the Drayton family had business dealings with the Conoco Consortium. After all, he had just taken over the Conoco Consortium and knew nothing about its previous partners.

“Wayne Sosie, don’t say I’m heartless as a relative. I have a good relationship with the human resources director of the ConocoPhillips conglomerate. I can intercede on your behalf and get you a job cleaning toilets. You’d get 3,000 per month, with food and lodging provided. Someone worthless like you, with no education or skills, should be satisfied with that!”

Chasell Delaton sneered. He had no real intention of helping Wayne Sosie at all. He said those words merely to humiliate Wayne Sosie and to enjoy watching Wayne Sosie’s utterly embarrassed expression.

“Honey, look what you’re saying! How could such a good-for-nothing even be fit to scrub toilets? In my opinion, he should just go on the streets and beg. People like him don’t even need makeup—just standing there is enough to give them a ‘natural’ look. I bet they could make quite a bit of money that way, haha…”

Ruth Nora laughed heartily, feeling extremely pleased. Then, she took a dime out of her LV handbag and tossed it at Wayne Sosie’s feet. She raised her eyebrows playfully and said to Wayne Sosie, “Hey, this is for you. If you kneel down, kowtow to me, and lick my shoes clean, I’ll give you another dime!”

Wayne Sosie stared coldly at their ugly expressions. No matter how calm he usually was, his heart was filled with rage at that moment.

“What a joke. Spouting nonsense all day long, acting like you’ve eaten shit. How dare you, trash like you, even think about cooperating with the ConocoPhillips Corporation? I suggest you get lost right now. The ConocoPhillips Corporation will never deal with people of your lowly caliber!”

Wayne Sosie wasn’t going to put up with it any longer. He retorted with a few sharp words. In the past, he had no money or power, so he just endured whatever happened. People thought he was easy to bully and took advantage of him. But now, Wayne Sosie was no longer the same person. How could he allow those two bastards to mistreat and humiliate him at will?
