Chapter 8

Samuel Girard quickly dealt with the decorations, but his mind was constantly on Logan Thurman. He hurried back to the lobby. As soon as he entered, he saw that everyone was gathered around Logan Thurman, whispering among themselves, their faces filled with surprise and admiration.

His heart tightened. He walked over quickly and asked softly, “What’s wrong? What happened?”

Upon hearing Samuel Girard’s voice, Xiao Zhou quickly turned around, his face filled with excitement. Pointing at Logan Thurman’s painting, he said eagerly, “President, look! Logan did an amazing job. It’s truly breathtaking!”

Samuel Girard followed the direction Zhou pointed at. When he saw the painting created by Logan Thurman, he was completely stunned. On the canvas, a magnificent castle stood in the distance. Snowflakes drifted down, covering the castle in pure white. In front of the castle, a young man and woman danced gracefully in the snow. The man had a tall and upright posture, while the woman was gentle and graceful, both wearing happy smiles on their faces.

From the windows of the castle, warm light shone forth. Inside, many people stood, each with a smile on their face, silently blessing the two people in the snow. The whole scene was pure and beautiful, filled with a romantic atmosphere, as though one had truly entered a fairy tale world.

“Beautifully painted,” Samuel Girard exclaimed sincerely, his eyes filled with admiration. “Both the composition and the colors are flawless. It’s simply perfect.”

Xiao Zhou nodded, but there was a hint of regret on his face. “Yes, the painting is indeed beautiful and its creativity is unique. But there’s one thing: look at the surroundings around us. Everything is filled with vibrant greenery, representing spring and summer. Yet, Logan’s painting depicts a winter scene with snow. It doesn’t quite match the surrounding environment. If only the season could be changed, it would be perfect.”

Other student council members also nodded their heads, their faces showing regret. “Yes, Logan. Your artistic skills are truly excellent. If you could change the snowy landscape to green grass and the snowflakes to flowers, it would definitely be the perfect touch to the entire event.”

Logan Thurman raised his head, wearing a confident smile. He shook his head gently. “Everyone, take your time. I’m not done yet.”

After saying that, she picked up the green paint and, to everyone’s surprise, simply poured it onto the canvas.

“Ah! What are you doing?” Xiao Zhou screamed in fright. He rushed forward, trying to stop her. “This is something you spent so much effort creating. If you spill green paint on it, won’t it be ruined?”

The others were also filled with panic. They tried to persuade Logan Thurman, but he didn’t stop what he was doing at all. His face still wore a confident smile.

Samuel Girard was also stunned. He didn’t understand why Logan Thurman would do such a thing. But seeing her confident demeanor, he somehow believed that she must have her own reasons for acting that way. He stopped Xiao Zhou, who wanted to step forward, and said softly, “Don’t rush. Trust her. There must be a reason behind her actions.”

Although Xiao Zhou was very anxious, seeing that Samuel Girard had said those things, she had no choice but to stop. With a worried expression, she looked at Logan Thurman, praying in her heart that she wouldn’t really ruin the painting.

Logan Thurman paid no attention to the people around her. She picked up two paintbrushes, holding one in each hand, and began to paint. Her movements were swift and skillful, her gaze focused. It seemed as though the entire world consisted only of her and the paintbrushes in her hands.

Everyone held their breath, watching her quietly, not daring to breathe. The green paint spilled on the canvas didn’t ruin the original artwork at all. Instead, Logan Thurman skillfully utilized it. With green paint, she created a lush green grassland against the backdrop of snowflakes, turning the white snowflakes into droplets of dew scattered across the grass.

With pink and yellow paint, she drew budding flowers on the grass and lush green trees around the castle. The original snowy scene instantly transformed into a beautiful springtime landscape. The men and women dancing in the snow now appeared as lovers embracing and dancing on the green grass, their smiles even more joyful and beautiful.

What’s even more amazing is that, with the white paint serving as a backdrop, the green colors appear particularly vibrant, as if they were moistened by dewdrops, full of life. What might have been a disharmonious composition became, through Logan Thurman’s modifications, a seamless blend with the surrounding elements—a result that surpassed everyone’s expectations.

A few minutes later, Logan Thurman put down her paintbrushes. With a sigh of relief, she smiled in satisfaction. “Done. I’ve finished painting.”

Everyone gathered around. When they saw the revised painting, they were all stunned. Their faces showed awe and disbelief. For a moment, the hall was completely silent, with only the sound of people’s breathing to be heard.

After a while, Xiao Zhou was the first to react. He exclaimed excitedly, “It’s perfect! Absolutely perfect! Logan, you’re amazing! This painting is exactly what we needed to complete the whole piece!”

Other student council members also realized what had happened, their faces lighting up with excitement. They exclaimed, “Yes, it’s amazing! Logan, your painting skills are truly incredible. You managed to turn a snowy scene into a spring scene in such a natural way. It’s truly magical!”

Samuel Girard stood at the back of the crowd, quietly admiring the painting. His eyes were filled with wonder and tenderness. As he looked at Logan Thurman, his heart beat faster. This girl was like a miracle—a constant source of surprises. He became increasingly certain that he had truly fallen in love with the girl he met in the snow.

Looking at everyone’s excited expressions, Logan Thurman wore a shy smile and said softly, “It’s not that great actually. I just drew according to my own ideas. I’m happy to be able to help everyone.”

“No, you really draw very well.” Samuel Girard stepped forward, looking at her with gentle eyes and a serious tone. “Without you, we might still not have found a suitable subject for the painting. Thank you, Logan.”

Logan Thurman’s cheeks turned slightly red. Avoiding his gaze, she said softly, “You’re welcome. I’m here to help as well. It’s an honor to be able to help.”

Watching the subtle affection between the two, Xiao Zhou and the other student council members exchanged smiles, understandingly deciding not to say anything. They stepped aside quietly, giving the two some privacy.

In the lobby, only Samuel Girard and Logan Thurman were left. Snowflakes fell on the windowsill through the glass. It was extremely quiet. Samuel Girard looked at Logan Thurman’s profile, mustered his courage, and said softly, “Logan, after this event is over, let me take you out to dinner. Consider it thanks for helping us solve this problem.”

Logan Thurman looked up at him, his gentle gaze making her cheeks blush. She nodded softly and said, “Okay.”

Seeing her shy expression, Samuel Girard’s heart blossomed with joy, and a bright smile appeared on his face. He knew that his story with Logan Thurman had just begun. What he didn’t know was that Julian Hamp was standing at the entrance of the administration building at that very moment. She witnessed the scene. Her umbrella fell to the ground with a thud, and her face was filled with disbelief and sadness.

Julian Hamp had originally come to see Samuel Gerard and bring her a cup of hot milk tea. But instead, she saw Samuel Gerard standing with Logan Thurman, their eyes full of tenderness and their behavior intimate. She finally understood that Samuel Gerard’s indifferent behavior toward her wasn’t out of habit or duty, but because his heart no longer belonged to her.

Snowflakes fell on Julian Hamp’s body, cold and piercing. Yet she felt no cold at all. Her heart was even colder than the snowflakes around her. She silently picked up the umbrella from the ground, turned around, and walked away from the building. Her figure appeared frail and lonely. Tears finally couldn’t be held back anymore, falling into the snow.

In the corner, Ezra Brandon watched all this with a cold smile on his lips. Samuel Girard, Julian Hamp, Logan Thurman, your little show has just begun. I’m curious to see what kind of ending you’ll all have!
