Chapter5 Kidnapped
In an instant, intense wild joy broke through her mind. Linnea was dizzy from this sudden surprise.
Caius... he really wasn't someone who followed conventions.
As long as he was interested, as long as he wanted to, he could do things random and outrageous enough.
But this wasn't enough.
After a moment of silence, Linnea asked softly, "If I win the bet, is the reward... just being kept?"
She was greedy. What she wanted wasn't just some "support."
Linnea made no effort to hide her ambition. This made Caius narrow his eyes slightly. "So what do you want?"
"I want to be your wife."
Caius froze for a moment, then laughed heartily. "You're quite ambitious."
Linnea suppressed her nervousness and declared to Caius, "I'll prove to you that I deserve the position of your wife. No one is more suitable than me!"
Faced with her grand ambition, Caius shrugged indifferently.
"Then I look forward to seeing how arrogant you'll become."
"So... it's settled then?"
Linnea stared at him. Her eyes were like a startled deer.
This put Caius in an especially good mood. He nodded generously, seeing the delight in Linnea's eyes as he wished.
Then he suddenly pressed down on her, blocking Linnea's mouth that was about to speak.
"However, I need to check right now whether this little cat betting with me is actually very attractive to me."
"Of course. Since I agreed to bet with you, I'm definitely confident in myself. I can definitely make you obsessed..."
Before she finished speaking, Linnea's breath was seized.
Caius completely dominated her. Wave after wave of desire swept over, instantly drowning Linnea in lust.
He wanted to see whether this little cat was really as she said.
Fatally attractive to him.
...
After an unknown amount of time, Linnea regained consciousness again.
This time, the bedside was empty, without that person who always took and never tired. Linnea breathed a sigh of relief like she'd survived a disaster. Finally she didn't have to be forced by that excessively energetic man to keep having sex! That man simply didn't know when to stop!
Brand new clothes were placed by the bed, along with a note.
On it was only a string of phone numbers, with the text: [Contact my subordinate if you need anything.]
A cold man who turned his back after getting out of bed. Linnea curled her lip in disdain.
She burrowed into the covers and pulled out her phone to write it down, but had absolutely no intention of proactively contacting Caius.
She didn't dare become annoying. Everything had just begun. She could be patient.
Linnea collected her emotions, packed her luggage a bit, and didn't forget to take out the bank card Caius had put in her wallet and place it back on the nightstand. She wasn't hoping for a little spending money from Caius.
She went downstairs and hailed a taxi.
The taxi was all black, making it hard to tell what brand of car it was.
But Linnea had no time to notice these things. She was focused on asking Cora about the whereabouts of her mother's belongings. Yesterday she had secretly returned to the manor once, climbing over the wall to sneak into her mother's room, only to see complete emptiness.
The Knight family had thrown away all her mother's belongings at a foul-smelling garbage dump.
And these things had been bought anonymously by many vendors who scavenged garbage for resale.
"You're sure it's those few galleries? Okay..."
After going around several red lights, the car drove onto a bumpy small road.
Linnea was bounced around until she almost vomited. She had to call out, "Driver, driver? Please drive more steadily. I'll pay you an extra half tip..."
But there was no movement from the driver's seat.
After waiting a few seconds, Linnea was suddenly alarmed.
The taxi slammed on the brakes.
Before Linnea could look at the driver's seat, she immediately pulled the car door to leave, but outside was a muddy path with overgrown weeds.
Two burly men in black suddenly rushed out from the side. A huge iron rod smashed over.
Before losing consciousness, Linnea only felt resentful.
Caius's trick was too underhanded!
Just because she tricked him into screwing her once?! Was it necessary to kill her?! Did he understand what being a gentleman meant at all!
When she woke again.
What met her eyes was the cold, damp interior of a warehouse. Linnea tried to move, but her hands and feet were tied to a water pipe, unable to budge.
"Who is..."
A whip cut through the air and slapped on the empty ground beside her.
"Who gave you permission to speak? Shut up!"
Dust floated everywhere. Linnea cautiously fell silent and looked at the person intimidating her.
At the front was an adult male, not particularly strong, wearing a black mask covering most of his face. Seeing Linnea "fearfully" not daring to speak, he puffed out his chest proudly.
But turning around, he scolded several other masked people beside him.
"Where did you find these masks? Such rough fabric, are you trying to give me a skin allergy? I'm a proper young master..."
Several people didn't dare refute, bowing and scraping. "Yes, yes! Young master, we were wrong!"
"Call me boss! Boss!"
"Yes, boss!"
The person was satisfied. He turned back to threaten her, deliberately lowering his voice.
"Linnea, after leaving the Knight family, you worked as a stripper for several years, but even so, you still haven't learned your lesson?"
Really not Caius's people.
Linnea immediately relaxed. And she was completely certain of the other party's identity.
Because the fact that she was a stripper was false information she had her best friend specifically spread to the Knight family.
She even had the mood to examine the coarse red eyebrows exposed from this person's mask, still as ridiculous as a clown. That's right, this was her half-brother, Jax.
Seeing she wasn't scared, Jax became more furious. He threatened hoarsely, "Yesterday, did you sneak back to the Knight family?"
"I represent the Knight family to teach you a lesson, to educate you not to covet the Knight family's property! You need to stay away from the Knight family, and from that person you can't reach. Far away!"
He waved his club. The person beside him hurriedly stopped him.
"Young master, but Miss told you not to use violence..."
Jax's face went completely dark. "Shut up!"
And Linnea finally burst out laughing.
"Jax, you can actually lift such a heavy club? Looks like your training has been effective. You're no longer that scrawny little boy from a few years ago."
One sentence made Jax's pupils shatter.
Linnea had actually recognized him!
...
On the other side.
Caius had just finished handling urgent business when his subordinate came to report.
"There's something regarding Miss Linnea."
Caius paused, then remembered who that was. That little cat who wasn't afraid of death. Playing with her was quite interesting.
"Speak."
"We saw her get into a luxury car disguised as a taxi. It belongs to the Knight family."
"She was kidnapped?"
"Yes." The subordinate nodded. "Should we investigate her connection with the Knight family?"
Caius had no interest in this.
Whether the Knight family or Linnea, the entanglement between them... what did it have to do with him?
However, he said with interest, "We can go take a look to see whether my little cat has already been killed by my 'wife.'"
