Chapter 6 Was It You Who Saved Me?

Hearing these words, Albert showed no reaction. He just looked at Luna.

He actually had no feelings for this family. His purpose in coming here wasn't to live under someone else's roof.

It was simply to repay Luna for the kindness she had shown him back then.

So he didn't care what anyone here said. The only thing he cared about was Luna's attitude.

Seeing Albert's gaze, Liam stepped forward, blocking between the two of them, and turned to face Luna. "He was disrespectful to Dr. Anderson and acted like a know-it-all, using medicine recklessly!"

"If it weren't for Jack's drug saving James's life, James might already be dead by his hand!"

"If we keep this convicted criminal in our home, he'll destroy the entire family. You may not care about yourself, and you may not care about me, but you have to care about Olivia!"

These words struck a nerve with Luna.

Of course, she knew Albert was a convicted criminal who had been locked up in Blacksite Prison.

She was willing to help Albert only because of their friendship, but everything that had happened was making her confused.

It made her wonder if Albert had picked up bad habits in prison.

Maybe there was even a reason why Albert got thrown in prison in the first place.

If she really kept him at home, Olivia would definitely be affected.

Just like her husband said, she could ignore everyone else, but Olivia, her own daughter—she had to care about her.

Albert didn't speak. He just kept staring at Luna.

Luna glanced at Albert, then shook her head helplessly and let out a sigh. "How about this, Albert—I'll help you find a decent hotel where you can stay."

"Don't worry, I'll cover all the costs."

Though she didn't say it directly, Albert understood what Luna meant.

A bright smile appeared on his face. Albert shook his head. "No need. Thanks for the offer, but I'll find something myself."

With that, Albert walked outside.

"This guy actually tried to steal my credit?" Jack sneered, watching Albert's back.

Olivia also looked over and gave a mocking laugh without saying anything.

"So, Olivia, now that I've cured your grandfather, will you agree to date me?" Jack took the opportunity to ask.

"We'll talk about it later," Olivia replied, giving a clear refusal.

After leaving, Albert didn't feel particularly bothered.

He had only partially repaid Aunt Luna's life-saving favor.

He'd see if there were any future opportunities to help her again.

Since they didn't want him staying at the house, it was actually a good thing. He could do what he wanted to do.

He had to keep practicing what those six teachers in prison had taught him, never forgetting it.

And his first marriage partner, Emma, still seemed to need some time.

Fortunately, the poison in his body had been suppressed for now, so he still had time.

He found a nearby hotel to stay in. Albert planned to rest a bit, then go check out Wilson Group's situation.

Since that old guy in prison said Wilson Group would follow his orders from now on, he might as well make good use of it.

If he could develop it into an intelligence network, it would make collecting information and taking action much easier later on.

He slept well that night.

Early the next morning, Albert first practiced some grappling techniques and boxing in his hotel room before heading downstairs.

There was also a Wilson Group branch office here. After all, a giant company like that had a wide reach.

Shortly after leaving the hotel, Albert suddenly spotted a familiar figure.

It was actually Olivia.

From her outfit and the backpack she was carrying, she seemed to be heading to school.

However, Albert had no intention of going up to talk to her. He turned and walked down another street.

After walking for about five minutes, Albert suddenly stopped.

During his time at Blacksite Prison, those six teachers had indeed taught him many things.

But the process had been extremely grueling.

Through it all, he had developed a special ability—sensing danger.

Right now, he clearly felt a dangerous force approaching.

But it wasn't approaching him—it was approaching Olivia.

At the same time, as Olivia walked forward, she suddenly noticed several people appearing in front of her, staring at her with bad intentions.

She frowned and prepared to take a different route.

But those men actually surrounded her.

"Hey there, pretty lady, don't be in such a hurry to leave! How about we be friends?" The leader had a scruffy beard and a thuggish look.

The men behind him wore similar nasty grins.

"Sorry, I'm in a hurry to get to school!" Olivia said, turning to leave.

But after just two steps, they blocked her again. "What's so great about school? We'll take you somewhere fun! I know a really great place—I'm sure you'll love it!"

Seeing them pestering her relentlessly, the usually proud Olivia grew angry. "Get out of my way, you street thugs!"

Those words instantly ignited their anger.

Before Olivia could say another word, the men rushed forward, covering her mouth and nose, and dragged her into a nearby alley.

Olivia struggled desperately, but she was no match for these men. She was quickly pinned in a corner of the alley.

"Playing hard to get, huh?" the leader sneered. "I just love stubborn ones like you!"

As he spoke, the man stepped forward, grabbed Olivia's collar, and yanked hard.

Her clothes tore instantly, revealing what these men had been hoping to see.

Olivia struggled again. The leader lost his patience and knocked her out with a punch.

Just as he was about to continue, he suddenly heard a sound from above.

He whipped around to see a dark figure dropping from the sky, landing in the alley.

The solid concrete ground cracked into a huge crater.

Albert's face was cold as ice. "Move again, and you're all dead!"

"Who the hell are you? Get him!" the leader shouted, and the group rushed at Albert.

Albert grabbed two of them like chickens and threw them deep into the alley.

Then Albert stepped forward, his shadow falling over them.

Moments later, screams and the sound of breaking bones echoed from deep in the alley.

Just then, a blond man appeared at the alley entrance. Seeing the unconscious Olivia, he first looked pleased, then confused.

As he looked around, Olivia slowly opened her eyes. Seeing Jack in front of her, her face lit up. "Jack, was it you... Who saved me?"
