Chapter 5 Get Out of Here
This sudden turn of events left everyone present completely stunned.
James had been in a vegetative state for quite some time now. Over the years, Bruce had only been using medication to maintain James's basic vital signs.
Plus, given James's special condition, he could lose his life at any moment.
Liam's family had been desperately maintaining James's condition all these years just to hold onto a sliver of hope.
They had never imagined that James could wake up, let alone speak.
Bruce, who had been standing to the side with his arms crossed, ready to watch the show, was completely frozen in place when he saw this scene.
He had conducted multiple diagnoses before and had confirmed that James was a complete vegetable with no possibility of waking up.
So all these years, he had only been maintaining James's vital signs.
But what was he seeing now?
He was seeing James wake up and speak!
And judging from what he just said, James's consciousness was remarkably clear.
This was simply impossible!
"You, what did you do?" Bruce couldn't hide his shock. He stared at Albert, his voice trembling.
"Saving someone, can't you see?" Albert's voice remained unchanged, as if what just happened was nothing more than a trivial matter.
"No, this is impossible, absolutely impossible!" Bruce took two steps back. At this moment, he could no longer maintain his usual gentlemanly composure. "I swear to God, this is absolutely impossible!"
"James's condition has been diagnosed multiple times. It's already a miracle that he survived as a vegetable!"
"Unless, unless..." Bruce seemed to think of something and suddenly pointed at Albert. "Unless this person is a demon! James has been possessed by a devil he summoned!"
Liam was startled.
In these few short minutes, his emotions had gone through too many changes.
From worry to gratitude, to anger, to shock, to wild joy, and now to hesitation.
He looked at James before him, his voice no longer sounding like his own. "Are you... Really, my father?"
James glanced at Liam. After such a long sleep and suddenly waking up, he had no way of figuring out what had happened.
Now, hearing his own son ask such a question, he immediately became somewhat annoyed. "Liam, you bastard, when you were three, you peed in the kettle and made me drink a whole cup of urine!"
"When you were five, you played with an axe. I almost got my toes chopped off trying to save you!"
"And the night before you and Luna got married, you told me you didn't want to..."
"Wait!" Liam stepped forward and covered James's mouth. Now he could completely confirm that the person before him was his father.
The father who had accompanied him growing up.
Those events and secrets were known only to the two of them.
Seeing James before him, though somewhat weak, but clearly having regained his consciousness, Liam's tears flowed uncontrollably.
Luna also ran over, and the three of them embraced and cried together.
In the room, Bruce stood there with an awkward expression.
He had just been mocking that person for not understanding medicine, but in this short time, he had cured a disease that he himself thought was incurable.
In an instant, he felt like a clown with nowhere to hide.
His pride and dignity were completely shattered at this moment, leaving nothing behind.
Albert remained calm. What those six teachers had taught him in Blacksite Prison was something people in this world simply couldn't comprehend.
Treating this kind of illness was no different from treating a common cold for him.
After a long while, Liam and the others finally calmed their emotions.
Bruce looked at Liam, then at James, his expression becoming somewhat complicated. "I'm sorry, Mr. Smith. I think my medical skills still need improvement. I apologize for wasting your time earlier!"
"Since James has recovered, I won't disturb you any further. Goodbye."
As Bruce spoke, he waved to his assistant and headed outside.
Liam paused, then immediately rushed over. "Don't rush off, Bruce. My father still needs you to help examine him, and..."
Before he could finish, footsteps suddenly came from outside.
Then a boy with blond hair wearing tight jeans quickly ran in.
Behind him was Olivia.
"Jack Williams, stop saying such ridiculous things. My grandfather can't possibly wake up!" Olivia said loudly. "You can't pursue me this way, and..."
Olivia suddenly froze because she saw James sitting up in bed.
The person called Jack Williams saw this scene, and a brilliant smile instantly appeared on his face. "Olivia, see? See? What did I tell you? After drinking the medicine I worked so hard to get, your grandfather would definitely wake up!"
Olivia slowly walked up to James. "Grandpa?"
James affectionately touched Olivia's head. "Olivia, you've grown so much..."
Olivia's nose tingled, and tears couldn't help but flow down.
Liam, who had been in the room all along, keenly picked up on Jack's words and immediately came over. "Jack, you're saying my father took medicine you got?"
Jack looked excited. "Yes!"
"You know I've been pursuing Olivia. To win her favor, a few days ago, I had my father get some medicine from far away that could treat James's illness!"
"When your family wasn't home earlier, I snuck in and gave it to James, hoping to give Olivia a surprise."
"Looks like things turned out even better than I thought. James has already woken up." Jack said, turning to look at Olivia. "Do you like this surprise gift?"
Before Olivia could answer, Liam spoke first. "So that's it!"
"And here I thought this fraud had cured my father. Turns out it was all Jack's doing!"
"And you, Albert, you're nothing but a fraud!"
"Even without you, my father would have recovered just the same!"
At this point, Liam looked at Luna. "Luna, I think you heard what happened earlier. This guy will only bring disaster to our family!"
"Someone like this, our family absolutely doesn't accept, and we can't possibly let him stay in our home!"
Liam's gaze returned to Albert. "So, Albert, you now..."
"Get out of my house!"
"Right now, immediately!"
