Chapter 3 03

Sky? Who was Sky? The question has been on Azxel's mind as he approached the cafeteria with Jaelen. It was already late afternoon since they orientation was done and Jaelen was instructed to show him around.

Azxel followed Jaelen to the cafeteria, silently keeping a careful distance. He didn’t answer when Jaelen asked if he was hungry but just went with him.

Jaelen went ahead, grabbed a tray, and motioned toward the line. “You first,” he said with a low voice and a little smile plastered on his face.

Azxel stepped forward slowly and picked up a tray, he filled it without saying a word. He noticed the students glancing at him, whispering but he didn’t react. Not like he cares.

Jaelen slid in beside him at the table. “Don’t mind them,” he said quietly. “Most haven’t seen you before in school and I guess they are just curious.”

Azxel didn’t look at him. He just set his tray down and began eating in silence.

After a moment, Jaelen leaned closer, lowering his voice. “You’ll get used to it,” he said. “New students always get the stares. Especially the ones who look like they won’t last here.”

Azxel’s eyes flicked to him briefly, then back to his food.

Jaelen smirked faintly. “Guess you’re not the talkative type.”

Azxel didn’t reply.

They ate in silence for a while. Around them, the cafeteria buzzed with quiet chatter and the scrape of trays, but it didn’t reach Azxel. He was somewhere else still thinking about the name. Sky.

The way the described him icked him, and he wanted nothing than to admire how cool Sky was.

When they finished, Jaelen pushed his tray away. “Come on. I’ll show you around before the evening bell.”

They walked down the corridor, passing through dimly lit halls lined with doors and signs. Jaelen talked while they walked with a low and steady voice.

“That’s the east wing. You don’t want to wander there after lights out. The guards don’t like movement at night.” He glanced over at Azxel. “Not that you look like you care much.”

Azxel said nothing.

Jaelen chuckled quietly to himself, then stopped near a long stretch of hallway that ended with a locked metal door. The plate beside it read Isolation Ward.

“This,” Jaelen said, gesturing with a slight nod, “is where they keep him.”

Azxel looked down the hall. The metal door stood heavily in the distant but something about it caught his attention. He couldn’t tell why.

Jaelen’s tone dropped lower as he pointed to one of the isolated building in the school. “That’s Sky’s place. Room 113. The one they warned you about.”

Azxel didn’t answer.

Jaelen crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes. “Don’t even think of getting close to that door. Even the guards don’t linger there long. Some say he still talks through the vents. You can hear him sometimes if the hall’s quiet enough.”

Azxel’s gaze lingered for a moment longer. “You heard him?”

Jaelen hesitated. “…Once. Thought I did. But it could’ve been my head or my mental issues.”

They stood there in silence for a few seconds. Then Jaelen exhaled and turned away. “Come on. We’re not supposed to be near this area for long. The cameras catch everything.”

Azxel followed without a word, his eyes still fixed briefly on the number 113 before they disappeared around the corner.

After Jaelen finished showing him around, they went back to their room just before lights out. The halls had grown quiet, the usual noise was now dead.

Azxel sat on his bed, running his fingers over the folder again while Jaelen talked about random things like curfews, how breakfast always sucked, how Hillcrest never turned the heat up enough. Azxel had now grown accustomed to his talking roommate who didn't take silence as an answer.

Later, after their showers, Jaelen rubbed his hair with a towel, glancing toward Azxel who was already lying down, staring at the ceiling.

“Goodnight,” Jaelen said quietly but as usual, he got ignored.

He smiled faintly to himself and turned over, falling asleep within minutes.

But Azxel didn’t.

He waited until the clock on the wall ticked past midnight, the only sound in the room. Then, quietly, he sat up. The faint light from the window barely outlined his shape as he slipped on his hoodie and opened the door.

The hallway was empty and silent as he walked out without a sound, following the turns he had memorized earlier.

The place was different at night, it felt emptier and colder. He walked towards the library because he couldn't fall asleep without reading books.

When he reached it, the door wasn’t locked. He pushed it open slowly, the hinges creaking a little.

Azxel walked towards one of the shelves in search of books when he heard a low chuckle by the side of the library. His heart skipped a bit, but trust Azxel to never be scared.

He turned around to search the other shelves, but he was roughly dragged and pinned to the wall.

“Hi, new student.” The Unknown person greeted with an eery smile. Azxel could catch his face from the street lights reflecting inside the building.

He had dark hairs, he was tall towering over Azxel, he had piercing dark eyes and most importantly, he had a weird smirk.

“What the hell are you doing? Who the hell are you.“ Azxel asked already irritated.

“Calm down. Fiery.” He answered pinning him to the wall, his face tilting towards Azxel neck and sniffing on it. “Blood. Blood. Your blood would taste nice.” He chuckled and licked around Azxel's neck.

Azxel could feel himself getting turned on. “What the fuck..”

He was cut short with a deep kiss. He finds himself responding to the kiss when the guy pulled back..

“Nice shape of lips, sweet lips, how would you feel under me?” He grabbed Azxel harshly by his cock that was already harder than a rock. “I should save this for another night.” And in a wimp, he was gone.

“What the heck was that?”

Azxel’s hands wouldn’t stop trembling. He shoved them into his pockets as he left the library, his head tilted down, refusing to look back even once.

His heartbeat wouldn’t calm down. By the time he reached his room, Jaelen was still asleep and turned toward the wall. His steady breathing filled the space.

Azxel shut the door quietly and leaned against it for a long moment. His heart still raced, and his chest felt tight. He hated feeling like something had crawled under his skin but he felt it. He couldn't help but become intrigued by who can get under his skin.

He kicked off his shoes and sank onto his bed, burying his face in his hands. The image of that stranger’s eyes hunted him because they were pretty.

“Damn it…” he whispered under his breath.

He turned onto his side, staring at the ceiling. His thoughts ran wild.

Somewhere in the darkness, Jaelen shifted slightly in his sleep. Azxel closed his eyes and forced himself to breathe quietly until the night swallowed everything again.
