Chapter 5 Come closer and kneel

He was….something. I have seen demons, beasts and unimaginable creatures but Lysandra Evernight was not any of those.

I could feel his energy immediately I stepped into the Sundering. It threw me off for a minute but I still took care of those Celestials. I hated those peasants. Always thinking they are pure and clean.

“Hmmm” I groaned when the little green eyes demon who had my cock in his mouth used his teeth. I pulled his head away and held his jaw, pushing my claws into his face, making him wince as he shook with fear.

“I am sorry my lord” he stuttered which only angered me. I usually liked when they beg and shake with fear but a black and sliver headed frail looking human with mixed match eyes is occupying my mind and this demon's fear suddenly looks pathetic.

I pushed him away, he folded up, still shaking and I huffed in frustration. Suddenly, the door bursted open.

“You wanted to see me?” Eryx voice echoed as he and Malachi entered my chambers.

He and Malachi and a few others were the only ones permitted to enter my personal chambers “I see you've found a new plaything” he continued teasingly, then he looked at the pathetic waste on the floor “Not him”

I ignored him as I took a robe to cover up. I was infact naked and they've seen me in worse state than this for it to bother them. I signaled for the demon to leave and he scrambled around for his things before running out like his wings caught fire.

Eryx laughed while Malachi stood motionless as usual.

“How did the Celestials enter the Sundering without either one of you knowing” I asked, sitting down. Malachi looked disappointed while Eryx was….. Eryx. He gets on my last nerve sometimes but he is one of my strongest warriors.

“How they usually do?” Eryx replied like it was obvious.

I stared at him. He just folded his arms and stared back. He has the audacity to hold my gaze without flinching which is why I kept him around and exactly why he gets on my nerves.

“The Binding was tampered with,” Malachi said finally, cutting our staring contest. He knew I was seconds away from separating Eryx's head from his body. “And I am afraid it's someone from our side”

That caught my attention. If anyone was trying to bring down the Binding, it only meant one thing. That was more concerning than the breach.

I sighed and leaned back. Why do they always start something they can finish?

“Find out who”

Malachi nodded bowed and was about to leave but Eryx spoke up.

“And the hybrid?” he asked looking at me with a smirk. He is so insufferable.

“What about him?” I asked with indifference.

“You tell me, you brought him here” He tilted his head slightly, like he was really intrigued. “I am also very interested as to why you didn't kill him immediately because I know for a fact you went there in a very foul mood” he finished, raising a brow at me

“He is useful” I shrugged

“To your cock?” he blunted out and dared me to deny it.

“Eryx” Malachi called irritated. He always hated Eryx’s bluntness. Eryx flipped him off which isn't surprising.

Now it was my turn to raise my brow at him.

“What exactly is he? You and I know he definitely isn't an ordinary hybrid, not with those markings and those eyes. You brought him here for a reason” His voice carried a note of suspicion.

Of course he noticed. He was one of my top generals for a reason. I hated when he got like this though. It's easier to deal with his smart mouth and cocky behavior than his observant brain.

Malachi turned to look at me.

“Find out how the Binding got breached.” I said instead. They both knew I wanted the conversation over with that.

Eryx chuckled while Malachi nodded and turned to leave

“Well, this should be interesting” he narrowed his eyes before following Malachi.

Lysandra Evernight. A small smile tugged on my lips as I thought of him bargaining with me earlier. Not everyone gets to do that and leave. He did and right at my face too.

I smiled when I thought of a creature with mismatched eyes.

I raised two fingers and darkness coiled at my fingertips. A messenger shadow came off the wall.

“Tell Veyne to bring the hybrid to me” I ordered and then flicked my fingers making the shadow disappear.

A few minutes later, a knock on the door brought me out of my train of thoughts.

“Come in”

Veyne came in first. He bowed his head slightly. Then he shifted and Lysandra stood behind him.

He looked different now. He looked smaller, in a way that told me that he knew Doomstar was totally different from Celestial and that he just realized he made a mistake promising himself to me.

"Please go easy" Veyne gave me a look. I shrugged and he turned to look at Lysandra who had not looked up since he walked in. "You will be fine. Just breathe" with that Veyne gives me one more glance before exiting the room.

We were now alone. I was genuinely curious at what he intended to do.

He still hasn't looked up.

I leaned forward slowly, resting my elbows on my knees, tilting my head to look at him.

“Look at me” I said quietly

He stiffened before slowly looking at me. Those mismatched eyes no longer had the confidence from earlier, which made me almost chuckled.

I guess he was starting to realize what he was in for.

“Come closer and kneel”
