Freya

Leopold was the man I had spent that night with!

The Gray family had deep roots in political and business circles, wielding real power with connections throughout upper-class circles in various countries. Even gangs and criminal organizations had to show him respect. He was truly a top-tier aristocratic family that stood above worldly concerns.

Legend had it that the family head Leopold Gray came from the womb of a royal princess, with noble blood, but unfortunately his father was a philanderer who produced many ambitious illegitimate sons. He dealt with that group of bastards until they were completely submissive, which couldn't be separated from his ruthless methods.

It was said that after he inherited the position of family head, the Gray family's value multiplied several times. He had outstanding abilities and profound thoughts - a true political and business demon king.

When I thought about the few thousand dollars I left before leaving that morning, I felt my face burning.

"No." The man didn't need to cater to anyone. A simple word was enough to dismiss Kelan, and Kelan didn't dare show displeasure.

He pulled me over and instructed: "Why don't you hurry and toast Mr. Gray?"

As soon as he said this, Leopold's cold and stern eyebrows lifted slightly.

His gaze was extremely oppressive, but fortunately it passed quickly. It seemed he hadn't recognized me, so I secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

I held up my wine glass and walked forward to honestly toast him.

I drank the entire glass. The stimulating taste of the alcohol made my throat feel blocked, and I couldn't help but cough softly twice.

He glanced at me again and lifted his glass to take a shallow sip.

"Leo, it's rare that you show such favor." Another gentleman sitting nearby spoke up.

He showed an interested expression and stuffed a wine pitcher into my hands: "Why don't you hurry and pour the wine?"

I was extremely nervous, afraid of doing something wrong that would displease him, but I couldn't offend either side, so I had to hold the wine pitcher with both hands and step forward.

"Ah!" I was tripped and fell toward Leopold.

Damn it, it was the person beside Leopold who stuck out his foot!

Wine spilled on his shirt front, the white lining becoming wet and dark, and some splashed on his head too.

I fell onto him, my palms feeling the firmness of his chest muscles. Heat transmitted through his clothes - exactly the same feel as that night.

After I came to my senses, I hurriedly tried to get up from him, but because of my panic, I stepped on my dress hem and tripped again.

My God, how could such a coincidence exist in this world?

I fell solidly again, my entire body pressed against him, my hands braced on the sofa as if I were throwing myself into his arms.

"Sorry, sorry!" I was extremely anxious, my cheeks burning hot as fire clouds.

As I got up, my lips accidentally brushed against his neck, and I felt his body tremble slightly.

Just as I was about to turn over and get up, his hand wrapped around my waist and with a pull, I ended up sitting in his lap.

Kelan was stunned for a long moment, seemingly very surprised by the unexpected turn of events. Reluctance and conflict flashed in his eyes, finally turning into determination.

He bowed and smiled: "Since you're interested in her, let her serve by your side tonight."

My lips trembled and my heart sank, knowing he had sold me out.

Kelan turned and left. Even though I had expected this in my heart, when the moment truly came, it was still painful.

"Whee~" The man who caused my embarrassing state whistled and sat down casually to drink: "I knew she was your type. You looked at her for two extra seconds."

"Someone's already delivered herself to your door, don't waste it."

Hearing him describe me like an object, I couldn't help but clench my fists, silently marking him down in my heart.

"Miss Freya, how does it feel to be sold by your relative?" He taunted me maliciously, still looking at me with that punchable expression.

I really wanted to punch him.

I adjusted my expression, looked up and gave him a fake smile, my hand naturally wrapping around Leopold's shoulder.

"How do I feel?" My fingers played with a strand of hair: "Honored, of course."

I deliberately pressed my body close to Leopold, our faces almost touching, and provoked: "After all, Mr. Gray is wealthy and powerful. I'm sure he'll be very generous to me, right?"

Since I couldn't escape, why not use the advantage to profit?

He seemed not to have expected me to be so frank. After being stunned for a moment, he laughed: "I didn't expect you to be so interesting. That show of weakness in front of your sister downstairs was fake, wasn't it? This is your true face?"

Only then did I realize that when Tracy was making things difficult for me earlier, they had watched a good show from upstairs.

All my disguises had been seen through by them. In their eyes, I was simply a clown.

"Alright, White." Leopold interrupted his next words: "Go out for a moment. I have something I want to ask this lady."

White raised his eyebrows, said no more, and walked out with his wine glass.

Now only Leopold and I were left in this space.

Just as my thoughts were in chaos, he suddenly grabbed my wrist.

I turned back in alarm. He gripped my neck and pressed me onto the sofa, his eyes deep and violent.

"The woman from last night was you, wasn't it?" He questioned coldly: "Kelan calculated well. Yesterday he drugged my drink and sent you to my bed. After scheming against me, he dares to parade you in front of me?"

His grip was very strong, almost choking my neck.

I felt his towering rage. Facing death, no matter how intimidating his status, I had to struggle.

Just when I thought I was done for today, he released his grip.

"Cough cough!" I coughed violently, tears sliding down from the corners of my eyes, and I made a decision in my heart.

Kelan would never dare drug him, otherwise how could he so calmly run up to him today and use me to curry favor? Last night I was given an aphrodisiac because of Tracy's scheme. These two things couldn't be connected.

What I could be certain of now was that he was investigating who the woman was who slept with him last night. His ruthlessness was probably because he thought the woman who slept with him was sent by someone else with ulterior motives to scheme against him.

Although I was innocently caught up in this situation, I absolutely could not admit to this and had to clear myself!

"Mr. Gray, you might be misunderstanding something. I stayed at a friend's house last night. If you don't believe me, feel free to investigate." I looked at him with my usual wronged and innocent expression, hoping he would believe me.

"Heh." He sneered coldly and loosened his tie: "You figured the surveillance was destroyed so there would be no trace to find, right?"

So the surveillance was broken - that made things even better. I would never let him know I had slept with him in this lifetime!

I scrambled down from the sofa, crying as I defended myself: "I don't know what happened last night, but you can't randomly accuse people."

"Kelan indeed had the idea of giving me to you as a mistress, but if he had drugged and schemed against you long ago, he probably would have sent me directly to your manor. Why wait until now?"

"Moreover, I had no choice at all. I don't want to be your mistress. I already have someone I like!"

I mixed truth and lies to vent my unwillingness. Someone like him who had held power for so long had extremely strong self-esteem and probably wouldn't force the issue.

He lifted my chin so we looked directly at each other, studying me, still with doubt in his eyes.

After a long while, he finally released his grip and looked at me coldly: "Get lost. Don't let me see you again."
