I pushed open the door to Lior’s room and froze.

The bed was empty. The sheets were pulled back, the monitor still on, but Lior was gone.

“No.”

The word came out under my breath before panic took over. My chest tightened as I stepped forward, then back, like that would change what I was seeing.
