Chapter One
Silvana's POV
Ugh- I groaned as I stared at my reflection at the mirror.
I felt trapped in this dress. It felt like I was suffocating. Unfortunately, my sister had insisted that I wore this particular dress.
A tube dress.
One that was tight, sleeveless and hugged my curves in all the right places. Other of the bridesmaids wore something similar, but mine was different.
Morgana had personally hand-picked it herself.
Couldn't it be a little bit longer though? I groaned as I tugged at the hem of the dress, it was below my knee which made me felt uncomfortable.
For fucks sake this was HER wedding, not mine.
"Silvana! If you don't stop wasting time we will leave you!" My mother's voice shot from downstairs.
"Coming mother!" I yelled, rushing towards my dresser to pick up my purse. Taking one final look at the mirror, I dashed out of my room feeling prepared.
Morgana was getting married to Alpha Garrick Grimfang. One of the most wealthiest, handsome and most feared Alpha in our realm....also the youngest.
It was an arranged married of course.
One that was planned by my father and our Alpha- Alpha Darius.
Alpha Garrick and Morgana were forced to get married as it would lead to an alliance for both of our clans, also including a share in Garrick's wealth. My father is the beta, and most trusted advisor to our Alpha. He personally insisted that Morgana got married to Garrick, as a token of the reunion of our clans.
The BladeWolves Clan, which was ours. The Fangstone Clan, which was Garrick's.
Alpha Darius had no daughter, so he agreed to it, blinded by his greed and need for power...just like my father.
I, my mother and Morgana were against it at first. But what could three powerless women do? We had no other choice than to accept, especially since a huge sum was paid for Morgana's head.
The occasion had been the hottest news in the whole realm, for months, they had been planning the event. Throwing tantrums all in the name of celebrations. Everyone was happy, everyone.....minus Morgana.
Alpha Garrick was known to the ruthless, wild and a freaking womanizer. The fact that he agreed to the arranged marriage without even blinking an eye shocked everyone.
He had never met Morgana before, I wonder what will happen today when they see for the first time? Obviously he would fall for her, Morgana was a beauty! But would he love her?
I feared for my sister's future more than I feared for mine. She was the only bestfriend I have ever had and now she's being taken from me.
The moment I got oustide the mansion, I noticed my father was pacing around in circles near the Limo. I was about to walk up to him when my mother rushed to my side, taking me by surprise.
"Mother what is-" My eyes widened when I saw the panic in her eyes. "What's wrong?"
"Where's your sister?" She asked, panic evident in her tone. "Have you seen her?"
My brows furrowed as I stared at her in confusion. "I don't understand... I saw Morgana an hour ago, I think? Why? What's the matter?"
She gasped and took few steps back, just as she was about to trip, I grabbed her hand and wrapped my arm around her. Just then, my father rushed towards us alongside two guards and a maid.
"Dad...what's going on?" I asked, my mind reeling on whatever was unfolding right in front of me. Everyone looked panicked, especially my father. The maids bustled around as if searching for something- or someone.
"Morgana is missing," My father said in a harsh tone, his eyes filled with anger.
"What?" I looked back at my mother who was in my arms sniffling. "That's impossible, today is her wedding. She probably just have cold feet or pre-wedding jitters!" I said, trying to remain positive even though I found it hard to believe my own words.
My father said nothing and turned to face the guards. "Search the gardens, the balcony, the storerooms, the kitchen! Everyhwere! This wedding must hold today no matter what!" He barked at the guards who nodded and vanished immediately.
I looked back at my mother, then held her tightly. "Morgana is fine, don't worry."
She said nothing and just held onto me tighter. "I knew I should have never let her agree to this." She murmured against my chest, the pain in her voice made my heart ache.
Morgana couldn't possible have ran away, right?
"You!" My father called, his eyes snapping towards me with disdian. "Take your mother to the Limo and wait there."
"Of course father," I nodded. "Mom," I said to my mom in a low tone. "Come on, let's go wait in the Limo."
"Okay."
I gently held her hand as we walked towards the Limo, just as I was about to grab the door handle. From the side of my eye, I noticed a guard running towards us. My mother's head snapped towards the guard's direction.
"What is it? Have you seen Morgana?" My mother asked, her voice strained, yet it was filled with a pang of hope.
The guard nodded 'no' and then stretched out his hand. He was holding a piece of paper.
I took it from him as I noticed that my mother stood frozen to the ground. My heart was beating fast- so fast I feared it would explode. I was extremely scared and hoped it was not what I was thinking that the letter was.
I swallowed the lump in my throat as I opened the paper. A gasp escaped my lips as the haunting words stared back at me.
'I'm running away. I can't do this. I can't marry someone I don't love. I'm sorry everyone.'
That was Morgana's handwriting...
"Let me see that!" A voice yelled as a hand yanked the paper away from my grasp, I titled my head to see my father standing in front of me. His lips curled into a frown as his eyes scanned the letter.
"She dare to run away?!" My father roared, squeezing the paper in his palms. "Morgana dared to disgrace me? Embarrass me in front of everyone?!" He yelled in fury. Meanwhile, my mother dropped to her knees sobbing loudly.
"I knew I shouldn't have forced into this," my mother sobbed, shaking her head violently. "My poor daughter is all alone in the woods...scared and alone..."
"Forced?!" My father snarled. "This was a fucking opportunity!" He yelled at my mother, his eyes boring into her as he cursed. "You raised an irresponsible daughter!"
"And you're just a greedy bastard!" My mother yelled back harshly at him. Her anger and irritation mirroring his.
I just stood there, unable to speak or move. I still couldn't believe it.
Morgana ran away?
Just as my father's lip parted, a guard rushed towards us. "Yes?"
"Beta Williams. Alpha Garrick is on the phone, he just called. He's getting impatient and is tired of waiting."
My father's breath hitched, then he let out a puff of air, running his hands through his hair in frustration. "Alright, I'm coming."
The guard nodded and ran back into the mansion, my father then turned to face me, his eyes scanning me up and down. "Silvana..." He called out, his voice laced with authority.
I swallowed hard, my eyes avoiding his as I stared at the ground. What could he possible want with me? "Sir?"
"You're going to take Morgana's place and get married to Alpha Garrick."
"Of course sir-" I stopped talking when his words registered deep into my skull. "WHAT?!"
