Chapter 12

William gave a cold laugh.

“Kim? Mr. Evans, waiting outside a bar late at night for my woman must be some earth-shattering business.”

As he spoke, he pressed a light kiss to Kimberly’s cheek.

Kimberly tried to break free, but he held her tighter. She was so embarrassed she wanted the pavement to split open and swallow her.

Sam lifted his brow.

“Your woman? I seem to remember seeing a trending headline today that said William Carter’s fiancée is Janet Campbell.”

William’s eyes turned vicious, though his tone stayed slow.

“My family matters do not require Mr. Evans’s concern.”

With that, William picked Kimberly up and carried her straight toward the car.

No matter how Kimberly struggled, he said nothing. He shoved her into the car and got in after her.

Kimberly tried to get out through the other door, but the locks clicked shut.

The next second, William leaned over her with his whole body.

Kimberly looked at the man before her, anxious and uneasy.

His eyes were bloodshot. His breathing was heavy. A vein stood out at his temple, and anger carved his taut face into something savage.

He looked like a man one second away from domestic violence.

And those few words earlier had almost all been spoken through clenched teeth.

Kimberly’s hands tightened unconsciously. She no longer dared look straight at him.

The moment she turned her face away, he caught her chin and forced her back. His warm breath rushed over her face, his voice dipped in frost.

“You’ve been away from me for barely a few dozen hours, and you’re already desperate to seduce wild men?”

Kimberly had no chance to speak before his mouth covered hers.

His large hand gripped her slender neck as he ravaged her lips.

“Mmph... Mr. Carter...”

Between brutal kisses, William questioned her.

“Is my Kim this addicted?”

“Can’t go one day without a man?”

“Hmm?”

He suddenly yanked open her trench coat. Heat and wetness from his mouth landed at her collarbone.

Kimberly trembled.

“Let go... let me go...”

William ignored the tearful edge in her voice. With practiced ease, he flicked open the buttons of her blouse.

Kimberly hit him in panic, but he quickly pinned her arms.

“Don’t... don’t bite...”

The car filled with the heavy sound of his breathing.

“You used to like it best when I bit you.”

“Didn’t you?”

His behavior grew more and more excessive, and Kimberly had no way to resist. Her voice shook.

“Is this how Mr. Carter wants me to repay the debt?”

“You slept with me for more than two years. Was that not enough?”

Her broken voice rang through the car.

William froze. Slowly, he lifted his head.

His hand still held her soft waist. Fire burned in his eyes as they moved over her face.

“What if it isn’t enough?”

“Did I say you could leave?”

Kimberly was breathing unevenly. Her misted eyes looked at him, full of tears.

“I... back then, you didn’t have another woman...”

William’s throat rolled. His gaze dropped unconsciously below her collarbone.

Kimberly sensed his possessive stare and hurriedly wrapped her coat tight around herself.

He...

At the company, in public, she had never seen him as this kind of obscene man.

Kimberly looked away. William’s gaze soon moved to her flushed lips.

He caught her waist and pulled her into his chest. His hoarse voice carried an order.

“I only told you to move out. I didn’t tell you to leave me. Stay by my side obediently.”

With that, William took a card from the pocket of his coat and pressed it into her hand.

“Pick a detached villa.”

Kimberly stared at him in disbelief.

He really wanted to marry one woman at home and keep another outside.

Her voice choked.

“From beginning to end, what have you taken me for?”

William stared at her without blinking. The back of his long fingers slowly traced over her smooth cheek.

“You got your claws into Sam Evans for money, didn’t you? What? Is he offering more than I do?”

“I didn’t.”

“No?” William’s eyes darkened. His hand slid to her chin and rubbed there. “Then tell me why he calls you by your nickname.”

Kimberly had no explanation. How would she know what Sam meant?

Knock. Knock. Knock.

Three measured taps sounded against the car window.

Kimberly turned and saw Sam.

He bent close to the glass, a slight smile on his lips.

“Kim, do you need help?”

Kimberly stared at him, speechless.

She swore she was truly not close with Sam.

Before this, she knew of him from online business sections.

Then recently, when he sent a headhunter to poach her, she deliberately asked around about him.

Her thoughts were still tangled when pain came from William’s arm tightening around her waist.

His gloomy face pressed closer too.

“Tell me. When did you get so close to him? Or did you already sleep with him behind my back?”

Kimberly shook her head weakly, breath uneven.

“I didn’t... mmph...”

Before she finished, William kissed her again.

The kiss was urgent and fierce, grinding her lips until they hurt.

His whole body leaned into her, pinning her down, her hands included, trapped against the seatback.

Kimberly could not move at all.

A slash of neon light entered with a gust of cold wind, and her heart lurched.

William had rolled down the window.

From the corner of her eye, Sam seemed to still be bent beside the car window.

Kimberly wanted to die of embarrassment.

The more she tried to resist, the more vigorously William kissed her.

The sounds of kissing and his rough breaths rose again and again into the wind.

And Sam did not move away at all.

Kimberly gave him a flat look.

Was Sam also missing a few screws?

Lunatics. All of them were lunatics.

Now she believed the rumors. Sam was not normal.

William was not normal either.

Kimberly was nearly breathless from the kiss. Tears clung to the corners of her eyes, trembling but not falling, before William slowly released her.

He straightened slightly and looked out the window, his vicious gaze carrying a sneer.

“Enjoying the show, Mr. Evans?”
