Chapter 5 Chapter 5: So… Brielle fucks her step-father?!!
Nadia’s POV
“Brielle?” My voice was barely a scratch in my throat. I scrambled backward against the headboard, shoving Kane’s heavy shoulder off me. “Brielle, look—it’s not—we weren't—”
She didn't answer. She swung her legs over the side of the bed, her blank, glassy eyes staring right through the dark wall. She stood up smoothly, her movements unnervingly rigid.
“B?” I squeaked, my chest heaving, my heart hammering against my ribs.
“Relax,” Kane’s low voice cut through the dark. He didn't even bother covering his bare chest. He reached out, his long, warm fingers wrapping around my trembling wrist, pulling me back down against the mattress. “She sleepwalks.”
“She... what?” I stammered, watching Brielle glide across the dark room like a ghost, her hand dragging along the edge of her vanity before she turned into her walk-in closet.
“She’s sleepwalking. She’s done it since she was fifteen,” Kane whispered against my ear, his breath hot and heavy, his hand sliding back up my thigh. “She’s completely out, Nadia. She won't remember a single thing in the morning. Now... where were we?”
He tried to press his lips against my collarbone, his body shifting back over mine.
A cold, sickening wave swept straight through my blood, flushing every single drop of heat right out of my body. My stomach turned upside down.
“No,” I snapped, shoving both palms against his rock-hard chest with all the strength I had. “Get off me, Kane.”
He paused, his dark brows drawing together in the dim light. “Nadia—”
“I said get off!” I hissed, scrambling out from underneath him and yanking my silk nightshirt down over my knees. My hands were shaking uncontrollably. “Leave. Right now.”
“You were moaning my name ten seconds ago,” he rumbled, sitting up slowly, entirely unbothered by his bare chest and unbuttoned pants.
“Well, I'm not in the mood anymore!” I spat, crossing my arms tightly over my chest to hide how hard I was trembling. “The mood is completely dead. Get out of this room before I scream and wake her up for real.”
Kane studied my face for a long, suffocating beat. A slow, dangerous smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth.
“Suit yourself, little saint,” he murmured. He stood up, pulled his trousers back over his waist, and slipped out the door without making a single sound.
---
The next morning, bright Miami sunlight flooded the bedroom, making my head throb.
“Morning, sleepyhead!”
I bolted upright, my heart slamming straight into my throat.
Brielle was standing in front of her full-length mirror, humming a pop song while slipping into a crisp white tennis skirt. She looked completely fresh, her makeup flawless, zero trace of the zombie who had walked into her closet at two in the morning.
“Brielle?” I rasped, rubbing my eyes, my voice tight. “What time is it?”
“Nine-thirty!” she chirped, turning around with a bright, blinding smile. “Did you sleep good? I slept like a corpse. Tequila always knocks me flat out.”
I stared at her, searching her eyes for any hidden rage, any subtle tension, any sign that she knew. Nothing. She was totally, completely oblivious.
“You... you don't remember anything from last night?” I asked carefully, swinging my legs off the bed.
“Remember what?” Brielle laughed, grabbing a hairbrush. “I remember stumbling up the stairs and collapsing on the bed. Did I snore or something?”
“No,” I breathed out, letting a huge, fake sigh of relief escape my lips. “No, you were fine.”
“Come on, put on something cute,” Brielle said, tossing a silk robe at my face. “Mom and Kane are already downstairs having breakfast on the terrace.”
My legs felt like lead as I followed Brielle down to the glass patio overlooking the bay.
Celeste was sitting at the head of the white wicker table, sipping black coffee and scrolling through her tablet. Kane sat across from her in a crisp, dark blue dress shirt, a newspaper laid open beside his plate.
“Good morning, girls,” Celeste said without looking up. “Did you sleep well, Nadia?”
“Very well, Mrs. Vale. Thank you,” I said softly, sliding into the chair opposite Kane.
“I slept like an angel!” Brielle declared, pulling out her chair and diving straight into a plate of fresh fruit. “Kane, did you tell the kitchen staff to make those miniature crepes?”
“I did,” Kane said quietly. His voice sent a sharp prickle down my neck.
He lowered his coffee cup. His dark, stormy eyes locked straight onto mine.
I looked down at my plate instantly, my fingers clutching my napkin under the table.
“Nadia,” Kane’s voice rumbled across the table. “You look tired. Didn't you rest well?”
“I slept fine, Mr. Vale,” I whispered, forcing myself to look up and give him my sweetest, most innocent smile.
Kane didn't smile back with his mouth. But his eyes... god, his eyes were burning a hole right through me. He slowly ran his thumb around the rim of his porcelain cup, his gaze dipping down to my lips before rising back to my eyes. It was an unspoken, filthy reminder of what had happened just hours ago.
You ran last night, but you're still in my house.
“Nadia gets quiet when she has too much sun,” Brielle chimed in, completely oblivious as she swallowed a strawberry. “Don't bother her, Kane.”
“I wouldn't dream of it,” Kane murmured, taking another slow sip while keeping his dark gaze pinned directly to mine.

By two in the afternoon, Celeste stood in the grand foyer, holding an expensive leather tote bag.
“I’ll be at the charity board meeting until six,” she called out, adjusting her diamond earrings in the mirror. “Brielle, please stay out of trouble.”
“I always do, Mom!” Brielle called back from the living room couch.
Once the heavy front doors clicked shut behind Celeste, the house fell into a heavy, suffocating quiet. The adrenaline crash from the previous night finally caught up with me. My brain felt fried, my body exhausted.
“I’m going to take a quick nap, B,” I told Brielle, who was glued to her phone.
“Go ahead, babe. I’ll wake you up if we decide to hit the pool,” she muttered without looking up.
I went into the guest room, pulled the black-out curtains shut, and drifted off into a restless, uneasy sleep.
When I woke up, the sunlight pouring through the blinds was low and orange. I checked my phone—four forty-five.
I stretched, my skin still prickling with a weird, restless energy, and stepped out into Brielle’s room.
Empty.
“Brielle?” I called out softly.
No answer.
I opened her bedroom door and walked out into the long, silent hardwood hallway. The mansion felt completely deserted. No music, no pool splashes, no noise from the kitchen.
I walked down the grand stairs, checking the living room. Empty.
“Brielle?” I called again, louder this time.
I was about to turn around and check the patio when a faint sound caught my ear.
It was coming from the west wing. The private master wing.
It was a wet, rhythmic slapping sound, accompanied by a muffled, breathless whine.
My heart instantly did a violent, sickening flip in my chest.
My feet moved on their own, tiptoeing down the plush runner rug of the long hallway toward the cracked double doors of the master suite.
The closer I got, the clearer the sounds became.
A heavy bedframe groaning under pressure. Sharp, raspy gasps.
And then, a girl’s voice—high, frantic, and completely breathless.
“Yes... oh god, right there...”
I reached the doorway, pressing my shoulder against the dark wood frame. My hand hovered over the brass handle, my breath catching violently in my throat as I leaned my eye against the narrow crack in the door.
The master bedroom was bathed in the warm, golden light of the sunset.
Kane was sitting on the edge of the massive king-sized bed, his broad back propped against the leather headboard, his bare chest glistening with a layer of sweat.
And on top of him, straddling his lap and riding his dick, was Brielle.
She wasn't wearing her bikini anymore. Her top was pushed all the way up, her long blonde hair wildly swinging back and forth as her hands gripped Kane’s broad shoulders. Her head was thrown back, her lips parted in sheer, frantic pleasure.
“Ah... faster, Kane... please...” Brielle gasped out, her hips moving in a wild, desperate rhythm over him.
Kane’s massive hands were clamped tightly onto her waist, holding her down as he thrust upward into her, his jaw clenched, his throat working as he let out a low, dark growl.
“Is this what you wanted, Brielle?” Kane rumbled, his voice cold, heavy, and completely stripped of any affection.
“Yes! Oh god, yes!” Brielle cried out, her nails digging into the meat of his shoulders, her body shaking as she rode him harder, completely lost in it. “Give it to me, daddy... give it to me...”
I stood frozen in the hallway, my hand glued to the doorframe, my mouth open in absolute, horrified shock.
The world spun around me.
Brielle hadn't been exaggerating at the beach club. She hadn't been lying to the girls.
And Kane Vale... Kane Vale had been playing both of us without missing a single beat.
