Chapter 8 Return to the Mellon Estate

Terry watched her leave, his brows furrowed, emotions swirling inside him.

The woman in front of him, Abigail, did look a bit like her. Even he had been momentarily thrown off at first.

But after thinking it over, Terry quickly dismissed the idea.

She had vanished five years ago. Besides, she was just a housewife back then, never knew how to dress up, always in old clothes, and she never used the credit cards he gave her.

And she definitely didn't have any medical skills.

Abigail, all glamorous and polished, was nothing like her. They couldn't possibly be the same person.

A few days later.

The Avery Technology Corporation website was hacked again, but this time the little brown bear on the homepage was replaced with a small dinosaur.

The tech department saw it as a challenge from the hacker, working overtime for several nights, but still unable to fix the vulnerability.

Terry was livid, hiring top industry experts one after another, but they all failed.

The hacker was always one step ahead, elusive and untraceable.

The top experts found one useful lead: a very active ID on a tech forum called 'Dawn Breeze.'

The person spoke with an air of arrogance but provided sharp, accurate answers to complex technical questions.

More importantly, under a post about the Avery Technology Corporation website attack, he had commented, "Just a small test."

"Dawn Breeze?" Terry mused over the name, his gut telling him this hacker wasn't like the old-timers.

More like a young person with a touch of arrogance, maybe even a teenager.

"Focus on this ID. Gather all possible related information!"

Meanwhile, at the hospital.

For some reason, the prank on the Avery Technology Corporation website had spread in the hospital.

A few nurses were chatting in the break room, and Elora happened to overhear.

"Did you hear? The website of the company that owns our hospital was hacked."

"Yeah, I heard it was someone named Dawn Breeze. This person must have some guts to mess with Avery Technology Corporation."

"Wonder who this big shot is."

Elora, already in a foul mood because of Isabella, felt even more irritated hearing this.

She stopped and sneered, "Dawn Breeze? If he had any real skill, he wouldn't be hiding behind a screen. Only people looking for attention do things like this."

Her words were sharp, dripping with disdain.

Isabella was on her way to see Robert about Philip's work and happened to overhear.

"Dawn Breeze?"

She paused for a moment.

Oliver's ID was Dawn Breeze.

She had once asked Oliver why he chose that name. He said he wanted to be like a breeze online, unseen and untouchable, leaving people guessing. He thought it was cool.

Connecting the dots with the news about Avery Technology Corporation and Oliver's animosity towards Terry, a suspicion formed in Isabella's mind.

She didn't confront Oliver about it or show any signs.

She knew Oliver's sensitive nature.

Exposing his secret directly might hurt his feelings and provoke a rebellious reaction.

Coincidentally, a long holiday was coming up. Isabella realized she had been so caught up with work since returning to the country that she hadn't taken the kids to visit their grandmother.

It was time to take them back.

The Mellon family estate was in the suburbs, more like a private park than a home.

Its discreet location reflected the family's quiet wealth and social standing.

A sleek Maybach glided in, and Isabella, holding Amelia and Oliver's hands, walked through the grand entrance.

"Ms. Mellon, welcome back!" The butler, Donald Green, and the staff lined up to greet them respectfully.

They all knew she was the rightful heir to the Mellon family.

The other two were children Alexander Mellon had adopted out of kindness.

One was publicly known as the Mellon family's son, and the other as the second daughter.

These two children had been pursued by enemies for years, and Alexander had protected them well.

But the enemies had mistaken Isabella, the real Mellon daughter, for one of the adopted children, leading to years of separation.

"Isabella, you're finally back. I've missed you so much!" A young woman in a white dress with flowing hair ran up, taking Isabella's luggage.

This was Luna Mellon, the adopted sister from the early years.

She seemed gentle and harmless, with a sweet, soft smile that made her the dream girl of many young heirs in Ocean City.

"These must be Amelia and Oliver. They're adorable! Let me hold them!"

Luna crouched down, not caring that her white dress touched the dirt.

But as she reached out, the kids simultaneously turned away, clinging tightly to Isabella's legs, clearly unwilling.

Her hand froze mid-air, a flash of embarrassment on her face, quickly masked by a smile. "Amelia and Oliver look so much like you, so beautiful!"

"Thanks," Isabella replied simply.

At that moment, the servants announced the arrival of Isabella's parents, who hurried over.

The kids, seeing their grandparents, Connie and David Mellon, ran to them excitedly.

They called out, "Grandma, Grandpa," with Amelia offering to play a lullaby on the piano and Oliver offering a back massage.

Their instant affection was the power of blood ties!

Connie laughed heartily, and after a few words, she and David eagerly approached Isabella.

David, eyes red with emotion, said, "Isabella, you've had a tough time abroad all these years. If we weren't old and unable to travel, we would have come to see you."

Connie hugged Isabella, lovingly stroking her hair.

Luna, watching from the side, felt her smile fade, her eyes revealing deeper thoughts.

"Let's go inside," David said, wiping his tears, taking Isabella's hand.

The Mellon family estate was the epitome of understated luxury.

The air carried a faint woody fragrance, and the interior was designed like a courtyard.

Five years ago, when Isabella first returned, she was heartbroken and barely noticed her surroundings, eager to leave the place that caused her pain.

This time, her mindset was entirely different.

Now, she had the presence of mind to observe the estate.
