Chapter 2 Uninvited Guest
OLIVER
The voice is rough and deep, cracking through the air like thunder.
A chorus of gasps erupts, and simultaneously, all heads turn toward the entrance, including mine.
My eyes widen at the sight of the guy standing there, and I just know he’s not a guest.
With the sun behind him, he looks like a vengeful demon who just got out of a bar fight.
Well the bar fight is assumed because of the beer bottle dangling loosely from his hand.
I run my eyes over him, taking in his all black clothes and the tattoos peeking out from beneath his rolled-up sleeve.
But underneath all that dangerous aura, he’s stupidly gorgeous.
Short dark curls fall over his forehead, framing those piercing eyes the color of sunlit sea grass.
His nose would be perfect too, if not for the rogue crook at the end but somehow, it works with his face…telling a story I find myself intrigued to read.
I swallow as my eyes fall to his thin pink lips. They are curved into a cruel…almost deadly smirk.
Wait…why the hell am I noticing his ‘looks’ when he just crashed my mother’s wedding?
That thought shoots me out of my seat but Elliot smacks his hand over my chest, forcing me back down.
“Wait!” he hisses quietly, eyes holding a warning for me. “We don’t even know who he is.”
“What?” I sputter indignantly. “Didn’t you see him just object? Someone needs to stop him.”
“Oliver!” He hisses. “Let’s just watch what he does first.”
This isn’t a movie, for fucks sake.
It’s my mother’s wedding, and I’ll be damned if some inked-up asshole ruins it.
Just then, the guy starts walking down the aisle.
Well, walking was something to call it.
He’s drunk and staggering down the same aisle my mother floated down barely ten minutes ago.
Halfway to them, he stops and then lifts his beer bottle towards my mom’s husband-to-be.
“Hey, Orson,” he slurs, deep voice booming through the church. “Didn’t expect to see me, huh?”
Orson’s face blanches white, confirming that he knows who this man is. However, Mom just grabs his arms, frightened.
My heartbeat spikes. I want to go to him, but Elliot’s grip on me is really tight.
“Well,” the guy continues, taking a swig of his beer, “here I am. And I fucking object to this wedding.”
His eyes finally snap to my mother, narrowing with this awful, simmering hatred that makes my insides twist in apprehension.
“In fact,” he spits, “here’s what I think of you. And your new bride.”
The tatted guy unzips his pants and…pulls out his dick.
“What the hell–?” Everyone gasps in horror, and just like that, he starts to PISS.
On the aisle floor, the fucking white runner, in front of EVERYONE!
My mom makes this tiny, shocked sound and that’s spurs me into action
I just can’t sit here and let this happen.
Ripping free of Elliot’s grip, I launch out of my seat before he can grab me again.
“Hey, asshole!” I bark as I storm towards him.
The guy has barely tucked himself back into his pants when I grab his shoulders and swing at him.
My fist slams into his jaw and I had to bite back my own hiss at the pain that lances through my knuckles.
It’s a pretty decent blow if I do say so myself, and I thought it’d knock him out.
But it doesn’t.
Instead, the unhinged handsome stranger turns his head to look at me, and for a split second, I see his eyes up close.
.
The green is so beautiful, filled with flecks of gold dust.
Then, he growls something I don’t catch and smashes that bottle down on my head.
FUCK!
White-hot pain explodes behind my lids, followed by the rush of warm copper-scented liquid down the side of my face.
Hissing in pain, I stagger backwards while clutching at my head.
Unfortunately, my shoes slip on the wet floor and before I can grab anything for purchase, I hit the ground so hard the breath leaves my lungs in a wheeze.
My back splashes into warm liquid and OH GOD–
I land in his piss. All around me, I can hear shouts and screams.
With the searing pain in my most probably broken nose, I try to stand back up, but the asshole is on me instantly, crushing me back to the floor.
And he gets my face properly acquainted with his fists.
Ringing noises fill my ear, and my vision sparks white.
I try to fight back, but it's of no use, the guy is a wild animal and his punches hurt like a motherfucker.
Distantly, I hear my mom screaming my name. Someone shouts for help…maybe call the co
ps?
But all I can think, deriliously, while this stranger beats the shit out of me….
…is how I still managed to ruin my mother's big day.
