Chapter 4 The Shark

Isla had her eyes widened with shock. How can someone be so gorgeous? Those blue eyes looked like two deep oceans, and Isla was ready to drown in them. Her heart started beating loudly like a drum. She was sure that the whole airport could hear her heartbeat. His firm hands around her waist were sending hot waves to her skin. She gulped with fear. She had never felt like this before.

What was this feeling? What was this emotion? Why was she feeling like that? She felt her cheeks burning hot. She wanted to raise her cold fingers and apply them to her cheeks to ease the pain, but she didn’t want to remove her palms from over his firm chest. She could feel something beating fast near her touch, but realised it was her own pulse that she was feeling.

“What the hell? Are you blind?” a voice rang behind Isla. Even the boy who was holding her tightly in his arms blinked a few times, and Isla could see his Adam’s Apple bobbing. But suddenly he loosened his grip on Isla’s waist, and she dropped to the floor.

“Ow!” she cried when her ass made contact with the floor.

“Now you know what it feels like!” smirked the gorgeous boy standing before her.

“Yeah, now you know!” laughed the boy standing right behind her. She turned her head to look at who was laughing at her. Again, her eyes widened with shock. Another handsome man stood before her with his arms folded over his chest. He fought hard with himself, but soon unfolded his arms and caressed his ass. Isla stifled her laughter and stood up. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her guards running all around the airport. After all the suitcases fell, a lot of people stared at the scene, but soon they got busy with their own work.

Isla grabbed her suitcase and started walking away when the handsome boy who had fallen grabbed her arm and stopped her in her tracks.

“Excuse me! Where are your manners?” he demanded.

Isla looked up and down at him and then at the guards coming her way. She was no longer that interested in the handsome man standing before her. She just wanted to run away. She immediately jerked his hands away and snapped at him, “Don’t touch me!”

“You touched me first, little mouse!” smiled the handsome man.

“Mouse? You are mistaking a shark for a mouse, tiny snail!” snapped Isla.

“Us hockey players look like snails to you. We are literally known for our speed,” laughed another man. Isla then noticed their orange and white uniform. They all simultaneously turned around, showing off their names, Montgomery, Carter, Wright, Morgan, Blake, Faulkner. She looked at the extremely gorgeous man, who just stood there, not even trying to turn to show his name.

“Okay, Flash! Goodbye!” said Isla, and again tried to run away when the gorgeous man with blue eyes stopped her. he pulled her close and looked directly into her eyes. “Apologise!” he roared.

“Good going, Gideon!” laughed his teammates.

“So, your name is Gideon!” Isla smiled at the back of her head. But she had no time to waste on his stupid games. “Okay, okay, I am sorry!” snapped Isla.

“Say it like you mean it!” snapped Montgomery. “You made me fall down. What if I had gotten hurt? Who would play then? We would lose all our games! Do you have any idea how much we athletes have to train?”

“Find her!!!” Isla froze in fear the moment she heard her father’s voice. She gulped and looked at Gideon with wide eyes. She had no idea, but her eyes were pleading with him. For a second, she saw his expression getting soft, but soon the fierce eyes came back, and he pulled her closer.

“Apologise!” he said calmly, yet his voice sent a shiver down her spine.

“Sorry! Sorry! Is that okay?” she shouted urgently. She just wanted to run away, run away in her mother’s arms.

“Is that what your mother taught you? Is this how you apologise?” he taunted.

The moment she heard her mother’s name, she saw red. “You want an apology? You want an apology? Here it is!” she snapped at him, lowered her head near his wrist and sank her teeth into his skin.

“Ahh!!” Gideon cried, and his grip on Isla’s arm loosened. She was looking for this exact moment. She grabbed her suitcase and made a run to the exit.

“Woah! Who was that?” laughed Montgomery. But Gideon could just stare at her running away from him. He softly caressed his wrist where she had just bitten him. A faint smile was playing on his face. “A shark!” he mumbled. “True! She really has teeth!”

“What, Jasper, you got knocked out by a girl the size of a puck. How are you, our goalie?” laughed everyone and taunted Montgomery.

“Shut up!” snapped Jasper.

“She is lucky that she ran away; otherwise, I would have shown her what this snail can do,” Jasper gritted his teeth.

“Let’s go, boys. And what the hell happened here? Did you guys fight?” snapped a robust-looking man, and attracted everyone’s attention towards him.

“Sorry, sorry, Coach Atkinson!” cried every boy but not Gideon. He was still staring in the direction Isla had just run to.

“No, Coach! We were not fighting or roughhousing. A girl bumped into us, and everything fell down. We were dealing with her,” said Gideon, still looking away from everyone.

“That girl is gone, right?” smiled Lachlan Atkinson, mockingly.

“Yes, coach!” Gideon abruptly realised that the girl was really gone, yet he was staring in her direction. He cleared his throat and looked at the coach.

“Then pick up your things, you idiots!” snapped Coach Lachlan.

“Yes, sir! Yes, Sir!” everyone shouted and started picking up their things. They saw a bunch of men dressed in black and talking rapidly on their coms, and their eyes went wide. “Is some VIP coming to the airport?” asked Jasper.

“Don’t worry about that! Concentrate on yourself! Let’s go. We need to get the boarding pass,” snapped Coach Lachlan Atkinson. The boys immediately gathered their things and were gone. But Gideon glanced back one more time, smiled and then walked behind his teammates.
