Chapter 5

Alpha Brentwood listened for his fated mate inside the bathroom. He heard her sobs while she cleaned. His wolf howled with sadness to hear his fated mate crying.

"I promise everything will be fine soon, my Luna," he said softly.

Once she realized what she was and what she is to him—his fated mate. He'll take her back to his pack, where she'd never have to lift a hand to do anything and be the happiest she-wolf.

Brandon was driving from the gas station when he caught Alpha Brentwood watching his girlfriend, Halsey, discarding trash into the bin, and he immediately drove over to his workplace.

Alpha Brentwood wolf snarled when he saw him.

His lunch break was up, and so it was time for him to resume his work, which was a good time for him to take his mind off unaliving his fated mate's baby daddy right on the spot now.

Alpha Brentwood was starting to work on a car when Brandon approached him. The iron torque wrench snapped in his hand like it was made from a twig when he sensed Brandon standing right behind him.

Alpha Brentwood slowly straightened his back up while trying very hard to keep his wolf anger under control as he turned around to face Brandon.

"What do you want?" Alpha Brentwood said in the deepest and coldest voice.

That wasn't the right way to speak to a customer, but he didn't care. Brandon wasn't a customer to him; he only saw him as someone he'd be very soon unaliving.

"Something is wrong with my car engine," Brandon said.

Other than having sharp senses and extreme strength, Alpha Brentwood could tell that he was lying by his heart skipping a beat.

"Go and ask another mechanic; I'm busy," said Alpha Brentwood, going back to his work.

As he's doing so, Brandon angrily hits the car Alpha Brentwood was working on, which makes him stand still, turning back to him.

He then drew closer to Alpha Brentwood and said, "Are you some sick stalker? You rent an apartment next to my girlfriend, and now you're working across the road from her just to watch her. I'm warning you, I'm not any male girlfriend you can mess with, for I'll make you wish you never moved her if I ever see you trying to speak to her again or catch you watching her."

Alpha Brentwood smirked, which made Brandon try to fight him.

A worker ran over to restrain Brandon and pulled him away from Alpha Brentwood.

"Stay away from her, you hear!" Brandon yelled.

Brandon's attempt to threaten Alpha Brentwood made him look like a mouse trying to attack a wolf. He was never a match for Alpha Brentwood.

Brandon pushed away the other mechanic and then got to his car, speeding off.

"Man, what was that about?" Alpha Brentwood co-worker asked him.

"Let's get back to work," Alpha Brentwood said instead of answering him.

"Okay," said his co-worker. "Whatever it's about, you don't want to share. Just stay away from him. His family technically owns this small town, which makes him feel as if he's some alpha and can do whatever he pleases. So be careful of him; he's dangerous, and no matter how wrong he is, he never gets locked up for it."

Alpha Brentwood laughed and said in a tone only he could hear, "I'll show him the true definition of an alpha."

His eyes then slowly change into his wolf's terrifyingly blood eyes, and shortly, they revert to his dark eyes, which makes him appear more human-like.
