Chapter 17 THE CURSE

The shift back hurt worse.  

Mia learned that at 7:45 AM, on Alex’s bedroom floor, screaming into his shirt.  

Bones broke again. Fur became skin. Claws became nails. Snout became mouth. The tail was gone too.

And she was human.  

Naked. Shaking. Covered in sweat and blood that was not hers....
