Chapter 11 Flagship Falling

Leo strode into the war room as alarms blared across multiple monitors.

“Report,” he demanded, voice cutting through the chaos.

Marcus looked up, face grim. “Victor’s men hit one of our supply depots near Meridian Tower thirty minutes ago. Firebombs. Two security guards injured. The fire is contained, but the message is clear. He’s done playing corporate games.”

Leo’s hands clenched into fists. The dinner humiliation, the public mockery, the laughter from the entire Hale family, all of it fueled the cold fire building inside him. “Casualties?”

“None fatal,” Marcus replied. “But one guard is in critical condition. Police are slow-walking it again.”

Elena moved quickly to Leo’s side, tablet ready. “Victor is panicking. Our takeover of his flagship commercial tower is gaining momentum. Three minority shareholders have already accepted our premium offers. We’re hours away from controlling interest.”

Leo turned to the digital map, eyes locked on the glowing icon representing Victor’s crown jewel. “Then we finish it today. Push every shareholder deal through. Offer another five percent premium if needed. I want binding contracts before Victor can react.”

The team sprang into coordinated action. Leo paced the length of the table, issuing orders without pause. “Marcus, get our best private medical team to the injured guards. Full coverage, best care. Tell their families Kane Group stands behind them. Elena, prepare the press release. Frame this attack as Victor’s desperate last stand.”

Damien’s empty chair at the far end of the table served as a silent reminder of internal threats already removed. Yet Leo knew more shadows remained.

Sophia’s latest message appeared on his secure line. He read it quickly.

“My father is losing it. He’s at the flagship tower right now, trying to rally his remaining people. I can give you real-time access to his emergency meeting if you promise to protect me when this ends.”

Leo showed the message to Elena. She frowned. “She’s offering too much too conveniently. This could be Victor setting another trap.”

Leo weighed the risk. “We take the information but don’t commit to her. Send a discreet surveillance team to the flagship tower. I want eyes on Victor. If he’s there, we record every word.”

As the morning burned forward, new victories landed. Two more shareholders signed with Kane Group. The net around Victor’s prized tower tightened.

Victor called exactly at noon.

Leo answered on speaker for the entire war room to hear. “Come to beg already?”

“You arrogant fool,” Victor snarled. “You think taking my buildings makes you a man? I’m at my flagship tower right now. Every loyal executive is here. We will fight you in every court, every commission, every street if needed. Release your grip or I release the full grandfather files. The ones that show Elias Kane was involved in far worse than forged permits.”

Leo smiled coldly. “Go ahead. While you’re busy leaking old dirt, the city is watching you hire criminals to burn my property and injure innocent people. Your flagship tower is already crumbling from within. Your own people are selling their shares to me as we speak.”

Victor’s breathing grew heavy. “Sophia was right to stay silent that night. You were never worthy. You’re still street trash with a lucky inheritance.”

The words stung, but Leo felt only sharp resolve now. “That street trash now owns pieces of your life. Enjoy the view from your tower while you still can, Victor. It won’t be yours much longer.”

He ended the call.

Elena stepped closer. “He’s at the tower. Our team just confirmed. He’s holding an emergency meeting with remaining loyalists. They’re planning coordinated legal blocks and more attacks.”

Leo made the decision instantly. “We go in strong but legal. Send formal acquisition notices to every shareholder present. Flood the building with our legal teams. Make it impossible for them to operate normally.”

The next hours became a whirlwind of high-stakes moves. Leo signed documents in rapid succession. Kane Group secured majority control of three key floors in the flagship tower. Public announcements went out, causing immediate panic among Victor’s remaining allies.

By late afternoon, reports confirmed Victor had stormed out of the building, face flushed with rage. Several executives had begun quietly negotiating with Kane representatives.

Leo stood at the war room window, watching the sun sink behind the glittering skyline. The emotional weight pressed on him harder than ever. He had never wanted this level of destruction. Yet every time he remembered the laughter at that dinner table, every insult, every time they called him worthless, the fire pushed him forward.

Sophia called again.

This time Leo answered. “You have thirty seconds.”

“My father is broken,” she said, voice shaking. “He’s talking about one final desperate move against Meridian Tower. Something that can’t be traced back to him. Leo, I’m scared. Help me get out and I’ll give you everything. The full original files, hidden accounts, everything.”

Elena listened carefully, then whispered, “Ask for proof first.”

Leo kept his tone ice-cold. “Send the full files right now. If they’re genuine and useful, we’ll discuss protection. But cross me again, Sophia, and you’ll fall with your father.”

He ended the call and turned to the team. “New priority. Prepare full legal assault on Victor personally. Assault, conspiracy, corporate espionage. Use every piece of evidence we have. I want him facing criminal charges by the end of the week.”

Marcus nodded. “The injured guard is stable. His family wants to thank you personally.”

Leo’s expression softened for a brief moment. “Arrange it. And make sure every worker at our sites knows we protect our own.”

As night settled over the city, Elena remained with Leo in the quieter section of the war room. The flagship tower acquisition was nearly complete. Victor’s empire was visibly cracking.

“You’re winning,” she said softly. “But the cost is rising. Violence. Scandals. People getting hurt. Are you sure this path still leads where you want to go?”

Leo looked at her, the only person who had never laughed at him. “I started this because they made sure I knew I wasn’t enough. Now I’m making sure they never forget who I became. But I won’t become like Victor. We end this with power, not pointless blood.”

She nodded, a quiet understanding passing between them. “Then let’s finish it cleanly. The flagship tower is almost yours. Once it falls, Victor loses his strongest symbol of power.”
