Chapter 3

That night, Aaron didn't come home.

But my phone screen kept lighting up and dimming, over and over again.

It was videos and photos from Anna.

They were cuddled together, watching the fireworks Aaron had carefully prepared for her.

They were embracing, pouring out their love for each other.

He was kissing her, focused and gentle.

Tears hung on her eyelashes as she sweetly responded.

I saved them one by one.

Anonymously, I sent them to the most powerful gossip media studio in Emerald City.

After doing all this, I slowly walked into the basement.

My fingertips gently touched the black and white piano keys.

Aaron didn't like me playing piano, so I always hid in the basement to play.

That night, I didn't cry or sleep.

I silently finished composing an original piece. I named it "Farewell."

Early morning.

Videos and photos of a mistress interfering with a married man went viral online.

I didn't care. Like usual, I focused on eating my breakfast.

Halfway through, the Hill Villa called.

"Mrs. Sophia Hill, please come back to the Hill Villa quickly. Mrs. Haven Hill found out about Mr. Aaron Hill's affair and almost fainted!"

I sighed softly, and with dark circles under my eyes, drove to the Hill Villa.

When I arrived at the Hill Villa, Aaron was kneeling on the ground, fiercely protecting Anna.

"Mom, don't torture Anna."

"How sweet you sound!" Haven sneered. "Have you forgotten how you begged me to marry Sophia? I had people hold her hands down and soak them in an ice bucket for a whole day."

"Now you've fallen in love with someone else. I can make it happen for you two, but it has to be fair. Whatever Sophia went through, she must go through once too."

"No! Anna's body is weak, she can't handle that kind of suffering!"

Aaron straightened his back, shielding Anna behind him, "If anyone's soaking their hands, it'll be mine."

"Aaron, you really impress me today. I'm willing to give you everything I have. Let me do it—just grit my teeth and it'll pass."

"Be good and wait for me. Your hands are for painting. How can they be soaked in ice water? I just bought you that studio, and you haven't even painted there yet."

Seeing this, Haven trembled with anger.

"Why won't you soak your hands for Sophia? She used to be a genius pianist. She almost couldn't play piano anymore to marry you. Have you ever thought about her feelings?"

I stood there, quietly watching.

Thinking back to the past, my heart began to ache again.

Back then, to marry him, I did everything from the heart.

I even gave up my dreams.

At that time, Aaron also offered to take my place. After I refused, he didn't insist anymore.

Turns out, for the person he truly loves, he's willing to give everything.

He remembers his lover's preferences.

He respects, supports, and protects at all costs.

"Did she ever think about Anna's feelings? The girl just got a little jealous and sent her some photos, and she went straight to the media!"

"If she hadn't exposed it, how would you have known about Anna's existence?"

"Anna already said she doesn't care about being Mrs. Hill, she just wants to be with me. Why is Sophia always so petty? She can't even tolerate a young girl."

Aaron roared furiously.

"Tolerate? Why wouldn't I tolerate it?"

I slowly walked over, smiled at him, then turned to look at Haven, "Such a loving couple—if I tore them apart, wouldn't I become a villain for the ages!"

"Mom, let them be. And please help me as soon as possible..."

"Sophia, don't think saying a few nice words for us will get my forgiveness."

The moment Aaron saw me, his face turned extremely ugly, "All the grievances Anna suffered today are your fault."

"Shut up!" Haven glared fiercely at Aaron.

Then she pulled out a document, "Since Sophia has spoken up, sign this first."

"Sign what?"
