Chapter 6 Chapter 6 A weird Dream
Aurora's POV
When I open my eyes, I am not in the room that I was in before at the Dragon Palace.
I sit up abruptly, my breath hitching.
This… this is not my room.
I am standing in some strange place. The sky above me is pitch black, yet scattered with golden stars that shimmer like they are alive. The ground beneath my feet is not soil—it shifts in colors. One moment it is red, the next purple, then a soft golden yellow, blending into each other like flowing paint.
I slowly turn around.
Tall trees surround me, their trunks and leaves covered in gold, diamonds, and gemstones that glimmer under the starlight. The air feels warm—comforting. Almost… welcoming.
“This has to be a dream…” I whisper to myself, my voice trembling slightly.
But something feels off.
Too real.
Too vivid.
Even in our paranormal world, nothing like this exists.
I wrap my arms around myself, trying to steady my racing thoughts.
“I must have stressed myself too much,” I murmur. “Yeah… that’s it.”
Still, a part of me doesn’t believe it.
But I push that thought aside.
If this is a dream… then I will live it.
For once, I will forget everything.
Forget him.
Forget the pain.
Forget the emptiness in my chest.
I start walking slowly, my bare feet brushing against the soft, shifting ground. A soft hum escapes my lips as I wander, trying to calm myself.
But even here… he follows me.
Christian.
The ache in my chest tightens.
“I lost you…” I whisper under my breath. “I lost my soulmate…”
My steps falter for a moment, but I force myself forward.
Soon, I come across a stream.
The water rushes forward, sparkling as if tiny stars are trapped within it. Every now and then, soft glimmers rise from the surface like magic itself breathing.
The sound…
It isn’t just water.
There is music in it.
Soft. Melodic. Almost like a lullaby.
I step closer, mesmerized.
A gentle, herb-like fragrance fills the air, wrapping around me, calming me. Slowly… my breathing steadies. My racing thoughts quiet down.
And then I notice something.
As I calm…
The stream slows.
The rushing water softens… then stills.
The music becomes clearer.
My heart skips a beat.
“Did I… do that?” I whisper.
The moment panic flickers—
The water ripples again.
Reacting.
To me.
A strange shiver runs down my spine.
“This… isn’t just a dream…”
I glance down at myself—and freeze.
I hadn’t even noticed.
I am barefoot.
My hair is open, cascading down my waist in soft waves. A delicate tiara made of pink and white roses rests on my head. I reach up slowly, touching it, my fingers trembling.
I am dressed in a long white off-shoulder gown, lined with gold and adorned with tiny diamond-shaped flowers.
I look like…
Like someone I don’t recognize.
Like someone powerful.
Like… I belong here.
A strange warmth spreads through me.
Drawn by the calm water, I walk toward the stream and sit at its edge, dipping my feet in.
Warm.
Not cold.
I smile faintly, playing with the water.
After a moment, I cup my hands and bring some to my lips.
The instant it touches my tongue—
Cool.
Refreshing.
Herb-like.
Different from what I felt on my skin.
I blink in confusion.
“How…?”
I try again.
Same result.
I let out a soft laugh, shaking my head.
“Okay… now I’m definitely dreaming.”
But even as I say it, I don’t believe it.
I stand up, suddenly filled with an urge to explore more.
There is something about this place…
Something calling me.
And just as the thought crosses my mind—
A sharp sound cuts through the air.
“Neighhh…”
I turn quickly.
A white horse with large, elegant wings stands a few feet away from me.
My breath catches.
She is beautiful.
Her coat gleams softly, and her eyes—
Aquamarine blue.
Deep. Intelligent. Alive.
She steps closer and nudges my hand gently.
I let out a small laugh as she licks my palm.
“You’re real… aren’t you?” I whisper.
She neighs again, almost in response.
I hesitate only for a moment before placing a hand on her neck and climbing onto her back.
The moment I settle—
She takes off.
Wind rushes past me as we soar into the sky.
I gasp, clutching onto her as I look down.
An island.
Floating.
Surrounded by clouds with golden edges.
It’s breathtaking.
“Stella…” I murmur without thinking.
The name just… comes to me.
As if it was always hers.
She lets out a soft sound, as if approving.
She lands on the highest peak of the island.
From here, I can see everything.
The rainbow-colored land…
The glowing trees…
The endless stream flowing into nothingness…
It feels like…
A world untouched.
A world waiting.
A strange thought creeps into my mind.
“This isn’t random…”
My chest tightens.
“This happened… after I accepted him.”
Christian.
The moment I think his name—
A sharp pain shoots through my chest.
I gasp, clutching at my heart.
“Aurora…”
My breath stops.
That voice—
My head snaps up.
“Christian?”
Silence.
But the feeling lingers.
Faint.
Distant.
Like a thread connecting us.
My eyes sting with tears.
“You felt it too… didn’t you?” I whisper.
The bond.
It’s not gone.
Stella suddenly stiffens beneath me.
Her ears twitch.
Her body goes alert.
A cold wind brushes past me.
And for the first time since I arrived here…
I feel it.
Something else.
Watching.
My grip tightens on her mane.
“Stella…” I whisper nervously.
She lets out a low, warning neigh.
The air shifts.
The golden glow dims—just slightly.
My heart begins to race.
“This place… isn’t just beautiful…”
It’s alive.
And then—
A voice.
Soft.
Ancient.
Echoing from everywhere and nowhere at once.
“You have finally arrived…”
My breath catches.
I look around frantically.
“Who’s there?” I call out.
No answer.
Only silence.
Heavy.
Waiting.
My heart pounds violently in my chest.
This isn’t a dream.
Not anymore.
And deep down…
I know.
This is only the beginning.
