CHAPTER 7

The dimly lit bar buzzed with music and young men and women vibing to the rhythm. At the corner was Olivia drinking whiskey directly from the bottle.

Her eyes were transfixed on her phone and on display was one of the pictures of her ex-husband and her supposed best friend sharing an intimate moment in a swimming pool.

Her eyes had gotten too weak from crying, the betrayal she least expected was that from her childhood friend. They've been through thick and thin together.

Her phone was buzzing non-stop, from Instagram notifications to tweets, calls and text messages. The calls and texts were mostly from Kevin. Angered by the buzzing phone, she flipped it over on the table and continued drowning in her misery.

“They don't deserve me..” She murmured raising the bottle to her lips once more.

What bothered her the most was how to return to her grandfather after this whole issue. She recalled how her old man sternly warned her about Kevin. The old man was right after all, he saw right past what she couldn't see.

He didn't even come to her wedding nor her wedding anniversary over the years.

“I'm sorry Pops. I failed you..you were right all along and I was blinded by love to think straight..” she continued lamenting her fate in tears.

Olivia lost her parents at a tender age and has been looked after by her paternal grandfather over the years as she grew older. Her father came from a wealthy family and she never lacked anything while growing up.

Her life was perfect until she met Kevin and the rest is history.

“Ma'am have this..”

Olivia raised her head gently to see the young waiter stretching a white handkerchief to her. He urged her to accept it which she did before he turned around and left.

She brought the piece of cloth to her face and dabbed it gently on her eyes to wipe off her tears. People were always quick to hand out a napkin to wipe the tears off but never for once tried to know the cause of the tears.

Minutes passed by and her condition didn't change and she was oblivious to the environment too. All she wanted was more whiskey to drown herself.

“You didn't seem so broken back there when you were giving a toast to your divorce..”

Olivia's back froze after she heard the masculine voice behind her. She didn't look up just yet until the figure took a seat before her. Her eyelids were too heavy to keep open or even know who it was.

“If you've come here to gloat, I'll suggest you get lost..”

The young man chuckled at her response. He saw her reaching for the bottle and he was swift to swipe it to his side before she got the chance to even touch it. He watched her annoyed look after what he did and only smiled in return.

“I'm single now, single and eligible men are free to chase after me” He quoted her exact words from earlier tonight.

Olivia cackled dryly, at this point, she was tipsy and finding it hard to concentrate on the young man's face. He appeared to be splitting into two to three parts whenever she tried to focus on him.

“Oh..you must be one of my admirers then or you are on the side of my Ex-husband..your gender never cease to amaze me..”

“Not all men are loosed like your Ex-husband, he just doesn't deserve you at all...”

He noticed how she was struggling to keep herself up. He looked around the bar and settled his eyes on her once more. “You're wasted..” he breathyly whispered and not too long, she began falling forward to the table, he reached his hand to her head and lowly guided her head to the table.

“Poor pitiful thing..”

The next morning, Olivia was awoken by the ringtone of her phone. She stirred in her sleep and reached for the ringing device on the bedside lamp table.

Still in her sleepy state, she switched it off and tossed it across the room and calmly went back to sleep totally unaware of her surroundings and where her phone landed.

“An inch more and I'd have been a blind man..”

The manly voice that rang in the room cleared whatever sleep that remained in her eyes. She sat up from the bed immediately and her eyes scanned the unfamiliar room in less than five seconds.

Until, she finally found the owner of the voice sitting with one leg over the other on the couch while he was holding her phone in between his long fingers.

He has sharp chiseled features with a strong jawline and high cheekbones. His deep grey intense eyes are framed by thick brows, and his neatly styled dark hair contrasts with his fair skin.

Olivia's eyes rounded, it took her a full minute to react after seeing his lips stretch into a thin line. She brought her gaze down to check for any abnormalities with her clothes.

Pulling the duvet off from her body, she was speechless to find herself dressed in an oversized polo.

Luckily, her panties was still on.

“Good morning single lady..”

Olivia tried to argue back but gasped softly feeling the throbbing pain kicking at the back of her head. Everything from the previous day started flooding right back in.

“Hangover I presume.. good thing I'm considerate enough..” The young man stood up from the couch and walked to the table where a glass of water and small container filled with small white pills. “You passed out last night and I brought you home..”

Olivia stepped out of the bed slightly annoyed at the turn of events. He might look good looking but she definitely can't trust anything that he says.

“You should have left me there..no one asked for your help” She remarked and avoided touching the water and pills he stretched to her. He towered over her with his height while she just stood there like a proud rat.

“What's the difference? You'd have ended up on another strangers bed too..”

His response made Olivia cautious immediately, she brought both hands to grab her body misinterpreting his words.

“Relax. Nothing happened..I didn't change your clothes either..”

The headache kicked in again and this time, Olivia was left with no other choice than to accept the pills from him. He seemed like a good person.

“Have we met before?” Olivia questioned. She didn't find him familiar but his cologne smelt familiar. He didn't look like he was poor either judging from the interior of this room to wear cheap cologne.

“I don't think so. But I happen to be present at your wedding anniversary last night..”

Olivia's face fell at the mention of last night, she brushed her hair behind her left ear and cleared her throat.

“I found it very interesting. I'm Seth. Seth Rollins, not a wrestler by the way..” He chuckled lightly at the end of his words.

Olivia's gaze landed on his palm outstretched to her, she hesitated for a second before accepting it.

“Olivia Ash-

She paused and Seth smiled meaningfully catching up to her mistake.

“Olivia Reynold”

“I know. You're also single”
