Chapter 6 Whisper Imp

Fiamara’s POV

Theron’s words echoed through my mind as I looked at Arya and Lana who were expecting an answer from me.

“You should be careful, titles like that don't make you a legacy, but rather a target,” Theron had warned.

My gaze darted from Arya’s curiously large eyes, to Lana’s disgusted expression. I couldn’t help but wonder if that was just how she was or she didn’t like me for some reason.

“Cat’s got your tongue? You were sharp mouthed a while ago,” Lana spat at me.

I gulped, then looked down and shrugged. “I don’t know.” That was all I said. Then I got up from the soft bed, went to the wardrobe beside my bed and I started to arrange my stuff, hoping they would get on with their business.

Theron’s innocent face flashed through my mind. His warnings. I wanted to meet him soon and maybe ask him some questions. He seemed quite informed and that might come in handy to survive in this supernatural world.

“I suspect she is the one everyone has been waiting for,” Arya whispered to Lana quite aloud. Because surprisingly I could hear them. I closed the wardrobe door after filling my clothes.

“Nah, Arya. How could she be this ordinary? This girl looks like a fucking human. I doubt she had any power.”

“Well, maybe because she is yet to awaken,” Arya added.

Lana scoffed. “Enough of this conversation. I am going out to meet Cassie, she has come up with a plan to speak with Raziel. So I have to be a supportive bestie.”

Raziel? Is it the same one I was with in the room? The Vampire?

I gulped on remembering him. His cold strong grip, intense presence, captivating aroma and most of all his piercing gaze that seemed to pore into my soul.

I shook my head, returning to my senses instantly. Why was I thinking about him that way? A boy that had fangs should not be attractive to me in any way. He might be trouble, besides he was cocky and who knew what he would have done to me if Theron didn’t step in.

“Oh, Cassie and Raziel are back together?” Arya asked.

I turned to look, just then Lana faced me and caught me eavesdropping. She zeroed her eyes at me and then whispered something to Arya’s ear. Arya laughed, looking at me and then Lana threw me one last glare before she stepped out.

“Is she always like that?” I asked Arya. She seemed to be more clear headed than Lana.

She smiled. “That was how she was with me when I came to this room at first. Don’t worry, she will come around, just try to stay low and out of her way. She loves to be the dominant one in the room.”

“Hm.”

I relaxed on the bed, pushing the thought of Lana off my mind. There are more important things to think about. “I miss Mum, who knows when I will see them again.” I frowned. “They didn’t even bring my phone with me.”

“Do you want to make a phone call?” Arya asked.

I faced her. “Can I call the human world from here?” I asked her.

She blinked for a second and then shook her head. “No, but Veronica can do it. I think magically or something.”

“Great,” I groaned and rolled my eyes, facing the ceiling.

I might have slipped into a nap, but the next thing I knew was opening my eyes to the sound of knocking on the door. I turned to see Arya sitting on her bed, tapping something on a pink laptop in front of her.

I didn’t bother to get up. I wasn’t expecting anyone anyways. Arya got up and pulled down her flair skirt. Then she made for the door.

“Fiamara, this is for you,” she said as she turned to me from the door.

My brows crossed in surprise. “Me?” I asked. She nodded in affirmation.

I dropped from the bed and dragged myself to the door as she walked back to her bed. I reached the door and looked in the hallway. No one was there.

“Are you playing some trick on me?” I asked Arya. “No one is here.”

“No one?” A tiny voice came from below.

I furrowed my brows and looked down to see a three foot tall creature with large amber glowing eyes looking at me with a scorn. I staggered back, shocked, as I gawked at it.

Dark reddish-grey skin tone, rough at his arms and neck, but smooth on his face. He had two horns curled into his forehead, jagged long ears and tiny long limbs, with a crooked posture that made it look like a starved child. It wore a gold trim uniform, with large worn out shoes.

“Wh— what are you?” I asked.

“An imp. Magically bound to serve the Academy. He is dressed like a Whisper-Imp, they usually bring messages and updates from the Headmistress,” Arya chipped in from where she was seated. My jaw only dropped further in shock.

The Imp rolled his eyes. “My name is Scab. The head mistress has asked me to escort you to her office,” He said flatly, barely interested in his job.

“Oh. okay.” I gulped and looked back at Arya. She nodded at me to follow him and I sighed facing him.

He grinned. His lips spread quite further away, exposing his needle like sharp teeth that seemed uneven from biting at what he shouldn’t. “Shall we?” He asked and I nodded. He moved ahead and I followed him, carrying my heart in my hands.

I had heard of Elf, Dwarfs and Fairies, but I had never seen anything like this. Its knees bent forwards as he walked, like they were too tiny to carry its huge head.

“This way,” he said, leading me to a wall. I raised a brow as he stopped in front of it and then placed its tiny long finger on the wall. Red light outlined his hand and a magical buzz sounded.

Wait. Am I the only one seeing this?

I looked around and saw a student with completely black eyes passing by, reading a mangwa comic book. He passed me and I saw his hairy tail swinging from side to side behind him. My eyes followed him till he took the next corridor out of my sight.

Oh god. Is anything normal in this school?

“I don’t have all day,” Scab called out as he walked through the wall that just opened and he descended down a staircase. “I have other errands to finish before the day ends.”

I nodded and followed him down the stairs. The wall closed behind us and the stairs changed forms and in the twinkling of an eye I was looking at a large white door in front of me.

I blinked, feeling nauseous by the sudden move. I didn’t even understand if I’d just teleported . But now Scab was knocking on the white door.

What could be behind the door?

I had seen a lot, but I was still not ready for more to come.
