Chapter 10 Red Head
Fiamara’s POV
Ginger. Ginger tea.
I woke up to the scent filling my nostril, and then a mixture of something familiar. The scent of Daisies mixed with Vanilla shampoo.
My room.
My eyelids fluttered open. The white ceiling of the room materialized in front of me, and then the glittering chandelier. With a groan, I propped myself up to my elbow. My mind was still hazy.
“How did I get here?” I thought out loud, rubbing my head while sitting up. I thought I was just at Veronica’s office, then I— I went to the back and—
“Here’s some tea,” Arya came in front of me and carried the tea on the side stool and handed it to me. “You’ll feel better after it.”
I blinked at her, taking the tea. “Thank you, Arya. But— how did I get here?” I blew at the tea, before drawing a sip.
“He brought you here.” She dropped on the bed, all smiles. “Tell me what happened? How did you get to be close to him?” Excitement mingled in her tone and expression. Yet I couldn’t understand why.
“Who?” I asked.
She stared at me with wide eyes and then pinched my cheeks. “Stop pretending like you don’t know who I am talking about. He brought you here while you were sleeping, carrying you in his arms and he asked me to take good care of you.”
I was mute. Who could that be? My eyes darted across the room, trying to figure who?
Then it clicked. My mind slowly puts the pieces together.
The journey to the waterfall, then thinking I was lost. There I saw a naked boy who scared me away. Shortly, I heard my name, only to see a werewolf behind me. Then my trauma made me fall unconscious.
Wait, was it the werewolf who brought me here? The guy who scared me and made me lose consciousness has to be the same boy who brought me here.
“He is always so cold to every girl in this Academy. It is quite impressive that you were able to get his attention. Many girls would kill to take your place.”
“Enough, Arya,” I voiced dropping the tea cup, pissed by her non-stop ranting. I needed to know the jerk that pulled that prank on me. It was totally unforgivable. “Tell me who it was that brought me here,” I growled through gritted teeth.
“Aldric. Aldric Greymoor,” she muttered, a bit shaken. “You’re acting like you don’t know,” she rolled her eyes. Then looked away, pushing her nose in the air.
Aldric? Is he the one? But Scab had called him a Warlock. Then how was he the one who scared me? Or did he find me out there and brought me inside the room?
“He is a warlock, right?” I asked Arya.
She smiled softly and faced me. “Oh, now you are admitting that you are interested in him right?” She asked and I groaned in frustration. “Anyways, he is a crossed breed species, only half warlock.”
“Half warlock, and half what?” I asked, pleading it was not a werewolf. Aldric seemed too cute to be on my bad side. Please don’t be a werewolf.
“Half werewolf,” She confirmed.
I jolted out of bed at once. “No, he shouldn’t have,” I growled, storming out of the room, ignoring Arya’s calls. Then I halted at the door looking back at her, realizing I didn’t know where to find him. “Where would he be?”
Arya sighed. “Library, he loves reading up in the upper court belonging to the Student President, mostly used for research and every other thing they do up there.” She rolled her eyes.
“Why that look?”
She shrugged. “There is a rumor that he’s gay and in love with the President to whom he is an Assistant, but it was only a rumor, though.”
Marek is the president, are they together?
Whatever. I didn’t really care about them. I just have to speak with Aldric and ask why he did that to me.
I balled my fist and was about to leave when Arya called out, “I think you should work on your mood, he can be very mean sometimes.”
I nodded, but didn’t take the advice. On reaching the centre of the hallway. I saw a sign boldly written ‘LIBRARY’. I walked inside the vast hall. Immediately overwhelmed by the high ceilings and loads of filled shelves and the scent of paper, till I found the stairs. I made my way towards it when I heard my name.
“Miss Calder.”
I turned around to see Lana sitting at a corner in the library. There were two other girls sitting with her on a bench. In a higher stool, sat one girl that caught my eyes. Blonde long straight hair tied up in a pony tail. Breathtaking beauty and model-like figure. She was dressed in uniform with Lana and the other girls, but her skirt was a little bit too short.
“Who is she?” She asked Lana.
“Cassie, that is my new roommate. Fiamara Calder.”
Oh that was Cassie. Raziel’s girlfriend and the one whom Veronica asked me to take over from as House Manager. Cassie Jones. Hm. She’s a beauty.
“Red head, you don’t greet?” Cassie asked out to me.
I gritted my teeth and waved my hand at her. “Hey Cassie. I hear you are a house manager. Can I get a change of room?” I asked, even before I could stop myself. Hoping that she would be more reasonable than Veronica.
Cassie looked down at the girls sitting in front of her. They all burst into laughter. Then she straightened her face and looked back at me. “No.”
Lana scoffed and stood up, walked up to me and tried touching my chin. I shifted off her reach. “Cassie, guess what?” She asked, circling me. I balled my fist, holding myself. “Arya mistook her for the Last Royal Dragon because of her stupid red hair.” She flicked my hair, slightly with her hand.
Cassie burst out laughing. “What do you expect? Arya is equally stupid.”
Lana laughed and walked back to her seat, crossing her legs, with her eyes fixed on me.
Damn. Cassie reminded me of Sharon so badly, and just as Sharon had minions in school, Lana and the rest of the girls are her minions. It all sucked.
“Nice meeting you all,” I replied, holding back my anger as I decided to keep it all for Aldric instead. Cassie rolled her eyes as I turned away.
Arya said Aldric would be in the upper court. Marek might be in there, but I was going to find Aldric and I would give him a taste of his own medicine, and maybe more than that.
I stormed towards the stairs.
