Chapter 4 Chapter 4

Desdemona’s POV

The first feeling with someone choking me wasn’t the sensation of breathlessness, but that he was thudding my head on the floor along with it. I did not even bother prying open the hands choking me because I knew that I could not do anything with the steel tight grip. So, I did the only thing I knew I had to.

I pulled out a makeshift knife with stones and silver blade tied up together wrapped with a cord and plunged it in his thigh. He was sitting on top of my body as he was choking me and from the sound of his cry, I knew it was Damien.

Stupid boy! He thought that being strong was enough. I had been waiting for this since quite some time. Because I knew that they would try and get rid of me some time or the other.

Enough to kill me and get out of his mother’s way. I did not pause once I had stabbed him. I pulled out the knife and then stabbed him again, this time in his abdomen. The next stab went in the middle of his arm as he tried to fend me off. He didn’t know it was silver but the poison was going to spread soon enough.

I slashed his arm as he kept screaming and grunting and I could see that he was trying to shift.

“If you shift now, I will make sure to plunge this silver in your heart. You don’t wish for your mother to mourn her first-borne, do you?” I asked in a raspy voice. My vocal chords were still healing and my windpipe was almost crushed from the choking but I could still speak.

“You wouldn’t dare to do that,” Damien growled out as he bled out from those stab wounds. I did not even pause as I slashed his arm again and said in a whisper,” You don’t even know what I can dare to do, little brother. Trust me, you feel the effects soon. And if you don’t wish to die here like the little bitch you are then you will leave my room immediately.”

But he could not. The silver had already started effecting his body and poisoning his blood.

There was no light bulb in this room. Only the moonlight and the light from the small window at the top of this room showed me that he staggered like a huge tree that had been cut down in the middle. I wanted to slash him more and I pounced on him but he slapped away my outstretched arm to throw the knife away but I held on. He grunted and I knew he was going to shift.

“You do realise that if you are found in my room in this state the only thing that the pack will allow is death?”

“You are naïve to think that I will allow my son to die at the hands of a filthy little cunt like you. Unlike your bitch of a mother, you don’t die. I don’t even understand what is it that makes you wish to live so much?” came Marissa’s voice from the doorway.

I could not help but smile. By now I had heard all the taunts that could be physically possible to say about my mother, so it didn’t hurt me any longer.

“I was hoping that you would be here, Marissa. How are you feeling now?” I asked her as I rubbed my throat willing it to heal faster than it was.

“You poisoned me, you motherfucking cunt, and then you have the audacity to ask me how I am doing?” she screeched. But she still did not come close to me or hit me like she wanted to. She would not. She had made that mistake once when I was sixteen and after that…well that story is for a different time.

“Can you prove that I poisoned you?” I asked her with a brow raised.

“You…you you you you you…you bitch! Do you think that I am as naïve and idiotic as the male that I am mated to? The man who forced me to birth a brood of idiots?”

“Mom!” rasped Damien and I could not help but giggle. This woman did not even bother to mince her words while speaking about her son who has been poisoned by silver. I mean, come on, I know they are unlovable, but you gave birth to them?

“Please go ahead and do your worst,” I drawled in pleasure. My head was still pounding from the beating that Damien had inflicted on me. But I wasn’t gonna show them that. There were far more important things I needed to think about right now.

“You dare to…”

“Yes Marissa, I dare. Just like I can tell my father, the Alpha that your son tried to rape and strangle me and there is a spell just in this room to show him exactly what happened. If you don’t want that to happen, I suggest you leave my room with your idiotic spawn,” I spat at her as I glared. I knew that it didn’t matter in real life because if she wished she could have torn my throat out in an instant and I would not be able to save myself.

But I had something which she didn’t.

Marissa pulled Damien away who was howling in pain by now and I could see the blue lines under his skin getting more and more prominent as the poison kept spreading. If he didn’t receive the antidote now, Damien would be dead by tomorrow afternoon.

And his mother was well aware of that.

“Don’t think I will forget this. You will pay for this,” she snarled at me and I just gestured at her with my hand to get lost.

She was a bitch whom I will deal with on my own time but the biggest question was that one of those three had been able to see me today. And I had somehow saved him from dying. Now all I needed to know was how to go back to see them so that they knew what I knew.

That I was destined to be theirs.
