Chapter 4

Lucian's POV

Following the normal routine I had in place,I slipped into my leather jacket, took my keys, my cards and stepped out of the house as I drove to the club where I frequent.

I had several missed calls and unread mails from the elders of the pack and council for my unruly behaviour of attacking my father and my promiscuous activities but that doesn't mean I will show up for any of them.

I stepped down from my car when I got to Club red and threw my key to the bouncer,the girls noticed me immediately, some flashed me a seductive smile, while those who were bold enough walked up to me but I wasn't in the mood of having sex I needed to blow some steam off.

Griffin had already called earlier that he was in the bar already and I knew his purpose there was to nag and keep me in check.I opened the door and stepped inside but a girl bumped into me as soon as I did.

It was a waitress.

I'm…sorry.” She  bowed and apologized immediately.

Griffin and the one other guy stood up immediately,the naked girls stood at alert too,I looked away from them to the girl in front of me and that was when I perceived her scent,it was mouth watering,my wolf tugged and paced around.

She was my mate!

She looked up at me and I got a closer view of her. She had dark long brown hair with subtle auburn highlights,her piercing green eyes locked with my eyes,her kiss shaped lips twitched in fear.

‘Mark her now!’ My wolf demanded I claim her on the spot.

My eyes darkened as I tried to keep my wolf and my emotions in check,my mate suddenly fell to the ground and bowed. I could feel her fear.

She was scared of me and I didn't like that.

“MATE!” I growled loudly and everyone in the room gasped in shock.

“Mine.” I whispered and bent down to help her up.

She looked at me and I knew she felt it too, Griffin rushed to my side and bowed to her.

“What's your name mate? I'm Lucian.” I Introduced,my hands still resting on her back.

“Al…Alpha Lucian?” She stuttered and I nodded.

I knew she would be so happy that I was her mate but my happiness was cut short when she pulled my hand away from her forcefully and made a beeline out of the room.

I ran after her, completely confused about why she did that. I looked around but didn't find her.I rubbed my face in my palm as I tried to shake off the feeling of anxiety.

“Where …did she go?” Griffin panted as he caught up with me.

“I don't know.” I clenched my fist.

“Any idea why she ran off?” Griffin asked and I shook my head.

I stopped looking around and turned around to see Griffin.

“Find out everything about her,I mean every little thing.” I ordered and he bowed and scurried away.

“I'll find you soon enough mate.” I murmured to myself.

“Here.” Griffin threw a set of files and pictures on my table.

“She is a lower rank member,pack outcast,she works as an attender in a local bar not far from the pack border.” He explained and I picked the files up.

“I guessed that was why she ran away, and figured that both of you didn't belong in the same class.” He said while I was looking at the files.

I sighed and dropped them on the desk after I found out the state of her life.I needed to talk to her.

'Aurora Steel.'

“Do you have the address of where she lives and works?” I asked him and he nodded.

He wrote them on the paper and gave it to me.

“Who else knows that I found my mate?” It wasn't the right time for the pack to know.

Considering how my father was,he would do  anything to ruin the moment and of course use her to threaten me.

“Joe,one of the elders' sons,the strippers and your work mate.”

“Get to them,pay them or threaten them to keep their mouth shut.” I ordered.

I stood up and prepared to visit my mate.

When I got to her house,I felt uncomfortable and guilty that she had been living in an almost shattered cabin, unfortunately for me she wasn't in. I went to her Frank said she worked and it was there I found her, working her ass tirelessly.

The doorbell rang as I walked inside, our eyes met and she gasped. She tried to run away but I was fast enough to block her path.

“We need to talk.” I said in a stern voice.

Aurora gave in and we stepped outside to a corner where they weren't passers by,she folded her arms and looked away from me.

“Aurora.” I called softly and she glared at me.

“How did you know my name?” She frowned at me.

And I wasn't liking the way she was reacting to me.

“I did my findings.” I said cautiously.

“We are mates, you are mine.” I said and she scoffed.

I tried to touch her but she flinched,I clenched my hand that was frozen midway and put it back in my pocket. I straightened my back and stepped backwards giving her the space she wanted.

She turned to look at me and clenched her fist,I frowned not knowing what I did to make her so angry.

“I Aurora Steel reject you Lucian Vaughn as my fated mate!” She yelled and fell to the ground.

“AURORA!!” I growled when she coughed out blood.
