Chapter 1

Aurora's POV

I sighed as the noise in the bar intensified,the scent of the lousy men was horrific. As usual the men gathered together to talk about the pack politics,the hottest she wolf in town and some of their side chick. It was their usual routine and I just had to cower in and endure everything because life wasn't favourable for me.

“Here's your order.” I placed the bottles of beer on one of the group tables.

“She's hot.” I heard one whisper as I leaned to open the covers of the bottle.

I didn't react to their words and how they tried to flirt with me.I turned around to leave and one of the men grabbed my butt cheek.My grip on the tray tightened,I turned around to see which one of them it was.

“Aurora, get your ass here,the customers won't serve themselves!!” My boss's voice echoed from the counter.

I sighed, looked away from the one who just assaulted me and went back to serving.Clara my boss blocked my path as I was about to serve another table.

“They are complaining about you Aurora, you should try to make them happy!” Her hands rested on her waist as she spoke.

“All those goodies you have.” She pointed to my breast and to my private part. “If I were you I would start using them to get what I want.”

“Your life isn't going to get easy here if you don't have anyone to protect you.” She added. “Now go back to serving and make my customers happy!” She ordered.

I bowed slightly to her and went back to serving but there was no way I would let them sleep with me and touch me. I may be an outcast and an omega but I have my ego.

I didn't finish working until later in the night,my whole body ached as I walked back home. I had to take the longer route because of the tugs that usually lurk around the corner.

By the time I got home,my friend Talia was waiting for me on the front porch. I sighed when I saw her,she gasped when our eyes met and ran to meet me.

“Took you forever.” She helped with my bag as we entered.

I groaned when I sat on the wooden chair and rested my head on the table. Talia placed a pot of soup and some dishes in front of me,I raised my head up and she nudged me to eat.

“Why did you bring this?” I frowned.

I was very sure that there wasn't a grain of food in the house when I left home. Talia must have bought it or taken it from her house and I didn't like whenever she did that.

Talia was from a high rank family,in the pack there's hierarchy and the position you belong to determines the quality of life you live.

The Alpha for example is the head of the pack and the one in control of the pack system, followed by the Beta the second in command then the Gamma,the third in command,then the Delta and the Omega the lowest in the food chain.

The high rank profiles get whatever they want while the low rank have to slave to their rule and I was part of the lower rank while Talia comes from the high rank family.

“Don't do this anymore.” I told her and she shook her shoulder.

“I don't want to be a burden to you Talia.” I stressed out when she didn't want to comply.

“You aren't a burden to me, you said you've accepted me as your friend can't I at least do these for you?” She folded her arms angrily and looked away from me.

Knowing how stubborn she can be,I let her be. I thanked her for the food. Honestly if she hadn't brought something along I would have slept on an empty stomach.

“It's late already, I'm sleeping over.” She said and I choked on my food.

Talia rushed to the kitchen, brought water and gave it to me.I took it and gulped it in. After calming down, I looked up to talk to her.

“Your parents don't like you coming here, you are going to get into trouble.”

“Spare my wolf Aurora.” She joked. “I didn't tell them I was coming to your place,I told them I went for night class.” She said and I breathed a sigh of relief.

“But I don't have a bed,I sleep on the floor.” I pouted sadly.

“Then we'll sleep on the floor together!” She said excitedly.

Talia and I chatted all night. Deep down I was grateful for her company and with her around I knew I wasn't alone in this world. I slept off thinking about what the future had in stock for me and if my life was going to get better or worse.

“Talia,we are going to be late for class!” I banged on the bathroom door that was almost broken.

“I'm almost done!” She yelled back.

“You've been in there for over an hour and you know how pissy Doctor Roland can be.” I reminded her.

The door knob rattled and she opened the door she winked at me and I rolled my eyes,I showed her my wristwatch and she gasped. When we were done dressing and packing we made a beeline out of the house to the bus stand. Luckily for us the bus to our school campus wasn't fully loaded and we were able to join.

Talia and I attended the same college and we were in the same department.I was fortunate enough to win the scholarship and so my tuition was fully funded by the pack.

By the time we got to the school and to the class,the strict lecturer Doctor Roland was already in. We had to enter through the back door of the auditorium,we crawled our way inside and just as I was about to take my seat,I heard my name from the podium.

“Omega Aurora,do you mind sharing with the whole class why you were late.” Doctor Roland called out.

I slowly stood up and all eyes were now on me,I didn't miss the look of disgust, hatred and pity they all threw at me.

“Aurora, you will never be loved by them.” I whispered to myself sadly.
