Mila POV.

I paused a bit. My vision moved across the length and breadth of the gathering. The entire pack held their breath.

I summoned courage. Cleared my throat.

“I want to use this medium to expose your filthy elders' plots…”

Before I could finish, one of the elders snapped, his voice sharp as a whip.

“That it is no more news dear, the reality is that you are no more a virgin.”

A gasp rippled through the crowd. My stomach knotted.

“which the gods completely frowned at, the most important rule to become a Luna. But the most painful aspect is that…”

Then he jabbed his fingers towards me seething in anger, " just last night you broke that rule. You were fucking defiled.”

I felt every eye burning into me.

“ Yes, I was defiled by no other person than your new alpha king.. who came to my house rolling on the floor saying that I must have sex with him against my will, backed up by a demonic letter sent by the gods signed by your demonic chief elders council.”

For a moment there was silence. Then, everyone burst into laughter.

“You see…” One of the elders named Alpha David countered, shaking his head. “How you are working hard to disgrace your family? And it's a pity, though we lost Philip, your father, a brilliant and intelligent wolf to a cold hand of death, but we never knew he would leave behind a sharp tongue with an empty brain.”

I bit my lip so hard. I tasted blood. Don't cry Mila. Don't give them that satisfaction.

“Where have you heard in the history of our pack that a defiled Luna will sit on the throne with the king on the day of his ceremony? I am sure that you know that the sex the king will have with his Luna on the night of his inauguration will be used for the atonement of the pack sins.”

“Which was the reason why I rejected the sex yesterday but your king begged me that the gods changed their minds this time?”

“What did you just say now?”

“ The gods changed their minds?”

“Ahh… Ahhh…. Ahh…”

Everyone busted into laughter including the crowd who were once hailing me a few moments back.

“Where do you get that from Mila? So have gods turned to humans now?”

Another named lady Sarah, quickly countered with another mockery tone, “She thinks our gods are now weather that changes however they like.”

“ She even worsened it by saying our gods do not speak to our chief priest by vision anymore only by letters? Is that not blasphemy?”

Another intense laughter from the crowd.

“Don't mind my sister,” Rosa quickly countered, " she is hallucinating, although she has always been that way. I was listening to how she was enjoying the whole thing… She forced herself on Alpha Jax!”

“Are you out of your mind Rosa? Any more words from you there?

Before I could draw closer to Rosa, the bald headed elders stepped forward.

“This is nothing but an insult, ” The alpha Thomas voice cut-in like a whip, " that our chief priest is no longer receiving from the gods but through letters? "

" Please stop!” I commanded. “You elders are making me look very stupid here.”

“Are you not,” Alpha David quickly replied, "is it not disgusting to hear you say a soon to be crowned king of our pack came to your house when he was supposed to be locked away during the Passover period to commune with the gods over the affairs of his pack?”

Then he continued, “Ok let's assume alpha Jax was allowed a break. It is not a sin to visit his Luna-to-be. But having sex on the holiest days of his life, prior to the throne? Common Mila you can do better.”

“How did he want to commune with seven great ones? With a defiled body? Thank the goddess that you are not a stranger to these things?”

Then I replied, my voice laced with anger. “I told him this too, but he refused. Handling me a letter that the oracle spoke differently this time. Only through a letter. He said I didn't love him enough that there is no difference between having it yesterday or today.”

Another wicked laughter erupted from the crowd and even the elders

Still laughing uncontrollably, “ can we have access to the letter?”

“Yes, your right elder… let have access to the letter.” Lady Sarah opined.

I spun towards the podium. Anger lightened up my eyes.

“Ok! Does this look funny?”

‘Do these people think that I am joking?’ I said to myself.

“You know this type of allegation is weighty and can force the elders to take some dangerous actions… like removing the king?”

Gasps echoed through the crowd.

I fumbled with my bag for a minute in search of the letter. I prayed that I wouldn't leave it by chance at home. I knew I kept it in my bag while…

Thank goodness I found it.

I raised it up into the air like it was the last hope my life and integrity clung on.

The seal was still intact just like when Alpha Jax brought it to me yesterday.

Thank goodness I didn't tear it into pieces when Jax brought it to me that it was a red letter from the gods and he had only that moment which was yesterday to carry it out otherwise the worse would happen from the gods.

I gave it to one of the pack security around the podium to send it to the elders on the throne.

I was vibrating about this same point. Waiting to celebrate their disgrace.

Then it was given to Alpha Vexhood. He opened, steering me in the face.

I couldn't breathe. A red letter was brought out from the red envelope just like yesterday when Alpha Jax handed it over to me.

Then Alpha Vexhood smiled. A strange but triumphant one. One tucked to the corner of his lips.

My stomach almost cut before I picked myself.

LIAR!” I bellowed with anger, “this is not possible, that was not the letter alpha James brought to me!”

The word stuck in my throat . I couldn't muster the courage to speak any more.

Please the technical staff kindly place the letter in my hand for the world to see.

Sweat instantly broke out from my head and trickled to every part of my body, to the extent that my pants immediately became wet.

One voice roared from the crowd.

The whole pack continued to roar

“Decorum!” One of the guards surrounding the throne commanded.

It occurred to me that I heard the creak of my door while taking my bath and I had placed the letter Jax brought yesterday on the bed?

I wanted to move to the podium where she stays folding her arms like she could not hurt a fly to devour her but the podium is heavily secured.

The crowd who had been chanting my name a few moments ago had started hissing, some frowning, and eyeing me.

“Enough!” Alpha Vexhood ordered.

“I think we have been fair enough to give you a fair hearing in the eyes of the world. But seems you are taking our kindness for stupidity,”
