Chapter 2: Dorm A: Home of the Alphas

Dana's POV

I blinked, shaking my head. 'I'm not,' I muttered back. My eyes fell on the boy still unconscious on the floor.

"Who are you guys? And why won't you let me help the boy on the floor?" My voice rose, as the familiar rage I knew crept back into my body. There we go.

Blue eyes shoved his hand into the pockets of his hoodie, his playful stare turning into a glare that made my heart jump. He stepped closer. "I thought Damian told you, you don't want to get involved in this, sweetheart," he laughed again.

I clenched my fists, closing the distance between us, and looked him straight in the eye. "I don't deal kindly with threats, don't test me."

He leaned closer. "Or what?" He whispered.

'Dana, no. I don't want to play with him.' Taryn whimpered, resisting as I tried to call her forward.

'Taryn! Just do it!' I growled at her telepathically. Blue eyes was too becoming too cocky. I'd show him what he wanted.

Just then, the boy on the floor stirred. My eyes immediately went to him, and in seconds, I was by his side. "Hey, can you hear me?" I whispered. The boy was still unconscious, but he had his brows furrowed. I had totally forgotten about red, blue and grey ranger behind me.

That was until I was pulled up by a strong arm around my waist. I gasped, watching as my feet was lifted off the ground. I tried to turn around, but I was suddenly tossed to the ground, hitting my butt on the metal floor. Pain shot up my spine, and I groaned.

I looked up, and grey eyes—no, Damian—was looking down at me, his eyes blazing with fury. Taryn whined and howled, urging me to retreat. But I refused.

Damian grabbed my chin, forcing me to look at him. "What did you not understand by don't touch the boy? Why are you being so difficult?" Something about his voice was setting off a pit of fire inside me, deep in my core.

My fangs revealed, and I snapped at him. "You're the one who's being difficult! Why is the boy on the floor?!" I yelled, tired of this nonsense.

"If you make one more sound, I will snap your neck and toss you on the steps just like I did with Joseph." He growled, and I flinched. The look in his eyes showed he meant it, and my blood ran cold.

"You....you did that?"

The fear in my veins hit Taryn too, and she curled up against herself.

"Damiannn!" A sweet, polished voice echoed across the hallway, interrupting us. I craned my neck and saw a slender tall girl walking graciously towards us, swaying her hips with just enough elegance. She was pretty as hell.

I felt Damian's expression shift, and he loosened up, turning away and focusing his attention on the girl. "Esna," He said, and for a moment I thought I was dreaming. He called her so softly, one wouldn't imagine the blackness in his heart.

I glanced at the boy on the steps again.

Esna caught up to us, wrapping her arms around Damian like a prize she fought to win. Then, she kissed him on the cheek and smiled sweetly. "I've missed you,"

Damian hummed, planting a kiss on her neck. "Me too,"

I was still on the floor, trying not to puke. "Idiots," I muttered under my breath.

Instantly I felt the shift in the air. Esna turned to me. "Damian, who's this? I haven't seen her face before,"

Damian just grunted, casting me a glance like I was a piece of trash. "Nobody."

Great. Now I'm nobody.

Esna stared at me for a while, her expression unreadable, before snaking Damian's arms and pulling him away.

Blue eyes and red eyes walked away with them. "Don't touch the boy," Blue eyes warned again, bouncing off.

I fought the urge to run after them, shifted in my full wolf and teach them a flipping lesson. But I also fought the urge to cry. I took a deep breath, arranged my uniform and grabbed my bag.

I stared at the boy on the steps, wondering if I should go back. But then Damian's blazing eyes flashed in my head, and I retreated.

Maybe it's just best to stay away from those jerks.

The rest of my day was fair, to say the least. The teachers were funny, and kept me alert throughout. Aside the occasional side glance and curious looks, I was fine. I didn't feel like introducing myself to anyone anyways.

Classes were done by 4pm, and I was alone in class and packing up my bags when I noticed a young girl poking her head through my class door. She was trying so hard to keep herself hidden.

I rolled my eyes at first, but then I became curious when she stood there for the next ten minutes.

"Can I help you?" I called out, and she flinched. Slowly, she stepped out from behind the door. I studied her.

She was petite, with big brown eyes and curly pink hair. She looked like an Asian doll.

"I... I'm Hana," She mumbled.

I raised my brow. "Okay? What do you want? " I crossed my arms. So far the first people I met in this school were dogs, so I had my guard up pretty much all the time.

"I...I just wanted to be sure what I heard was true," She stuttered, flinching again.

I let out a tired sigh. "And what could that be?"

She cleared her throat. "I heard you were placed in the same dorm with the Grandlake Alphas."

Okay, my curiosity tipped over it's peak. "That's not possible. Why would they place a girl in a boys dorm? And who the fuck are the Grandlake Alphas?"

She fidgeted with her hands further. "Damian, Kyle, and Alex. They're the three Grandlake Alphas. They're so powerful they have an entire dorm to themselves."

My jaw was inches away from the floor. Damian? As in grey eyes?

"Wait. What dorm is theirs?" I said, hurriedly searching for my key card.

"Dorm A. They're the only ones there."

My eyes scanned the card, my heart picking up speed. Then, my blood ran cold.

Because sitting pretty at the bottom of my keycard, was Dorm A written in bold golden letters.

Shit.

"There has to be a mistake," I said, carefully placing my key card on the principal's desk. She was a bit elderly, but still strangely beautiful. Her silver rimmed glasses sat on her nose as she stared at my card.

"I'm sorry, Miss Varynn," she cleared her throat, shifting her eyes to her laptop. "But it's only an issue of convenience. You're an alpha, so it's only right that we place you in the alpha quarters."

"That's ridiculous! They're boys!!" I yelled, Taryn growling inside me. She too wasn't happy with the new development.

"Calm down, Miss Varynn. Your block is on the opposite side. We can't place you with the others, that would be demeaning. And we had strict orders from your father to keep an eye on you," She said calmly.
