Chapter 3

Ella’s POV

“Stay right there Fiona, don’t come any closer.” I heard Jordan say in an angry tone. Is this man even serious? So he had a girlfriend and he behaved that way with me yesterday. Not like I cared about this brat making all this noise at the moment, but I just felt sorry for her that her loving Jordan was a cheat. Suddenly, the attraction I felt towards this man, who was now walking to the door, turned to disgust.

“What are you doing here, Fiona? And why are you creating a scene in my home causing trouble?” Jordan said, now standing in front of her and I stood here wanting to disappear in any way that I can. I didn’t want to be part of this drama. “Your girlfriend comes to see you and this is what you have to say to me, Jordan? You have never acted this way toward me, is it because of this lowlife maid?” Fiona asked now looking at me like I was mud under her feet. Maybe I was because I had nothing compared to her.

“You don’t get to insult her and I’m going to ask for the last time, what are you doing here?” Jordan now shouting in a more furious tone. How did he react this way when he’s clearly at fault? Was this the type of man he brings out when he’s with women because yesterday clearly felt different? He was gentle, yet hot. I thought about last night and smiled, forgetting where I was at the moment.

“I’m here to see you. Been calling your phone, you’re not picking up. I went to both your office and your house and no one could offer me information. When we get back, they need to be fired. So I assumed you’d be here and indeed you are. And why’s everyone who works for you behaving like they’d never seen or they don’t know me? I miss you, babe. What do you say we go on a vacation? I need it.” Fiona said, while laying her hands now on Jordan’s shoulders, trying to kiss him.

This scene just irritates me, even though she was his girlfriend. I was standing right there. Could they at least let me leave or better get a room? “Get your filthy hands off me Fiona,” I was shocked as Jordan pushed her away. “You really take me for a fool. I see. After going around and sleeping with lots of men, you come back to me with this attitude? You’re sick. I can’t believe I almost had the thought of you being my wife. Now let me make things very simple. From today, we don’t know each other. I’m breaking up with you, so stay away from me and any property I own.” Jordan’s words hit me like a rock. Is that how relationships are? I couldn’t really know because I had never had time for one. I’m always on the run from one trouble to another.

“You don’t mean it Jordan, you don’t. You love me and I love you, that’s what matters,” Fiona said, trying to kiss Jordan, but he walks pass me and toward his desk taking out an envelope from his desk going back to where he stood he shoved it at her. “Here those are the pictures of all the guys you’ve slept with while I worked. There’s Daniel in Miami, a regular guy I supposed because his picture appears three times and you’re smiling, holding his hands, entering a hotel like you didn’t have a boyfriend. In that envelope also contains the amount of money you have been stealing from my company and sending to the accounts of your boyfriends. You can now go be with them.” Jordan said and moved back to his desk.

So this is the reason he acted the way he did. He had found out his girlfriend had not been faithful, probably why he was in the club, and he said he rarely comes here at all. It all made sense now. “John, take her out of my office!” The dark guy in dark shades who came for me earlier came in and took her out as she was still in shock and cried, pleading for Jordan to forgive her.

“Ella, I’m sorry you had to witness that I know you must think bad about me, but I promise you I’m not what you think.” Jordan said as they left us alone once more. I didn’t know what to say. It wasn’t my place to judge. I was just a maid in his house who shouldn’t have foolishly slept with a guy I didn’t know.

“I can’t explain everything to you now, but eventually I will. I just want to get to know you,” Jordan added. How did he want to get to know me? It was impossible. I worked for his mum and I had to keep this job. And I definitely didn’t want to go back to Hong Kong and his girlfriend looked like someone who can make my life miserable. I didn’t honestly need all of this drama.

“I’m sorry, Master, but my job is to serve both you and Mrs Denver. I work for your mother and I can’t afford to lose my job. If that’s all, may I take my leave now, Master?” Trying to avoid all this. I gave him my honest answer. “He studied me for a while, using his eyes to pierce through my body. It almost felt like he was tearing my clothes apart with his eyes. "Ok, you can leave, but I must warn you like I did yesterday you don’t play with fire and expect not to get burnt. I don’t give up.” Jordan replied and with that I left and I could feel his eyes behind me as I made my way out.

Once at the servant’s rooms, I explained everything to Maya, and she had the same expression I had on when I heard all of it. “That girl is so dumb!! Did she really think an influential man wouldn’t have his eyes on her?” Maya said. She was right. I’m not one to judge, but it looked like Jordan loved Fiona.

Before we started work, we received some compensation money for living our lives behind. Like it was a life worth living for, but they had not the slightest idea, so I had some money on me. I had to send this back to Hong Kong. I took permission to leave the house for a while from the Chief maid Mrs Evelyn and I left to go send this money to the hospital back in Hong Kong for the treatment of the woman who had helped me for so long. It wasn’t half of what the hospital needed, but it was something.

Walking in the cold of the evening, I passed by a beautiful park and thought to myself I had to visit this place when I had the chance to. As I stared at the garden, next thing I knew I was on the floor, blood oozing out of my body and so much pain filled me. My vision became blurry but I could tell people were surrounding me already “Call 911” a woman screamed and just then, I understood I had been run over.
