Chapter 3: Nancy's scheme

Nancy's POV

The moment Klaus entered my room, I immediately put on a show of weakness, coughing violently.

When he wasn't looking, I bit my tongue, letting blood trickle down from the corner of my mouth.

"Nancy!" Klaus rushed over in panic, holding me steady.

I leaned weakly against him. "I'm fine, Klaus... You should go back. After all, Emma is waiting for you at home."

He gripped my hand tightly. "Nancy, I promise you, I'll fulfill your wish. I'll divorce Emma soon."

I lifted my head excitedly. "Really? Emma agreed to the divorce?"

His expression turned irritated.

"She hasn't agreed yet, but she will eventually. Don't worry, just focus on recovering."

I deliberately pressed closer to him.

"Then tonight... can you stay with me?"

"Nancy, your condition isn't good. You should let the doctor treat you as soon as possible."

His gaze was so tender. "I'll take a shower, and I'll stay with you tonight."

My body instantly froze.

Because I saw the red marks on his neck, along with faint nail scratches.

Damn it! That bitch Emma!

Today was my birthday, yet Klaus went home and had sex with her!

But I could only suppress my anger and pretend to be moved.

"Thank you, Klaus."

After Klaus went to the bathroom, my private doctor entered.

"Miss Nancy, are we really going to deceive Alpha Klaus?"

He looked at me nervously. "I'm worried he'll discover the truth one day."

I cut him off. "Shut up! If I say I'm sick, then I'm sick. He won't doubt anything I say."

Ten years ago, the Golden Moon Pack experienced a bloody riot.

Klaus always believed I saved him. To save him, I was hit by a silver bullet and contracted silver poisoning.

How could he possibly doubt me?

As for who really saved him, I didn't care.

I'd been waiting for him to marry me, but his grandfather, old Campbell, forced him to choose Emma instead!

A woman of unknown background, without even a wolf, became his Luna.

Now that old Campbell was dead, I had to seize this opportunity.

I had the doctor provide a fake diagnosis report and chose to show it to Klaus on my birthday.

Although he refused to have sex with me because he worried about my health, eventually I would become his Luna.

I changed into a sexy black lace nightgown and quietly slipped into Klaus's room.

He lay in bed asleep, shirtless.

I opened my phone camera, nestled beside him, and took an intimate photo.

Then I sent the photo to Emma.

Emma didn't reply, but Klaus's phone rang.

Emma's name flashed on the screen. I immediately hung up.

I couldn't give her a chance to contact Klaus.

The next morning, Klaus woke to find me in his arms and sat up in shock.

"Nancy, what are you doing in my bed?"

I immediately put on a pitiful expression.

"Klaus, I'm sorry. After the doctor treated me last night, I was in so much pain that I came to your room looking for you."

I lowered my head, my voice choking. "I know your wife is Emma. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done this."

Klaus immediately felt guilty. "Of course I don't blame you, Nancy. How are you feeling now?"

I leaned on his shoulder. "I'm much better now."

He said, "Don't worry, I'll go back right now and divorce Emma."

I said coyly, "Can I come with you? After all, I'm the one who wronged Emma."

"Don't say that, Nancy."

Klaus interrupted me. "I'm the one who wronged you. You saved me, and I made you sick."

I followed Klaus to Golden Moon Manor.

The entire estate was eerily quiet, with no sign of Emma.

I pushed open the bedroom door. The next second, I screamed.

A large, shocking pool of blood stained the carpet.

Klaus strode in quickly, frowning at the sight of the blood.

He immediately summoned a maid, his voice stern.

"Where is Emma? What happened with this blood on the floor?"

The maid stammered in fear.

"I... I don't know. Last night, Emma was very happy, saying she had news to share with you. She made dinner herself. Then I went home..."

My heart suddenly sank. What news did Emma want to share with Klaus?

He took out his phone and made a call, but no one answered.

"Damn it! Emma dared to turn off her phone?!"

My gaze swept across the bed and suddenly caught sight of a corner of white paper peeking out from under the pillow.

While Klaus wasn't paying attention, I quickly walked over and pulled out the paper.

It was an ultrasound report!

Damn it! Emma was pregnant?!

"Nancy, what are you looking at?" Klaus suddenly asked me.

I quickly hid the ultrasound behind my back, saying in a fluster, "Nothing, I was just looking around."

Klaus ordered the maid, "Check the surveillance footage immediately. I want to see when Emma left the manor and what happened with this blood."

"No need!" I immediately stopped Klaus.

I said casually, "I think Emma probably just got her period. You know, we're both women. I understand her situation."

Klaus frowned. "But I just checked my phone and found that she apparently called me last night."

Shit! I forgot to delete the call record.

I took his arm. "Emma probably just can't accept the divorce right now."

Klaus showed a displeased expression. "She's really too careless!"

I breathed a sigh of relief, instructed the maid to clean the carpet, and led Klaus out of the room.

"Since you've already decided on divorce, why not contact a lawyer now and prepare divorce papers."

Klaus nodded.

While he was on the phone, I quietly found a paper shredder, and tore the report into pieces.

I absolutely could not let Klaus know Emma was pregnant.

Next, I went to the security room in Klaus's name.

The guard didn't dare neglect me and immediately pulled up the footage.

Around dawn, Emma was being supported out of the manor by a woman.

She appeared completely unconscious, her nightgown covered in blood.

I sternly instructed the guard: "Delete this footage. This is the Alpha's order."

I watched as the surveillance footage was deleted, finally feeling completely relieved.

As I walked out of the security room, I ran into Klaus.

"Nancy? What are you doing here?" He looked at me in surprise.

"I was worried about Emma, so I came to check the surveillance."

My tone was very natural. "The footage shows she left the manor this morning. Nothing unusual."

"She probably can't accept divorcing you yet, so she left temporarily."

Klaus grew even more irritated.

"Does she think this will stop the divorce? Absolutely not!"

I looked at Klaus with emotion, thinking to myself that I needed to take further action to speed up their divorce.

As for the child in Emma's belly...

The blood on the carpet said it all.

She must have already miscarried, right?
