Chapter 6

But Griffin's tone was ice cold.

"You tested me at the boxing ring from the start, then in the car, and now you want to test me with words again?"

"For a woman like you, should I believe every word you say?"

Though Griffin's voice wasn't loud, his tone was full of mockery.

Not only was Evelyn not angry, she was actually quite pleased.

"Mr. Hubbard, this job isn't something just anyone can handle. My life depends on it, so I need to know whether my bodyguard is smart or stupid."

"But I haven't agreed yet."

Evelyn shrugged.

"That's fine. I'll give you tonight to think it over. Give me your answer tomorrow morning. As for the payment, we can discuss that tomorrow, okay?"

Griffin nodded.

He had nowhere to go tonight anyway. If he could sleep in this fancy villa for a night, that actually seemed pretty good.

"Oh, one more thing I need to remind you—my father died because of that drug, and your best buddy Owen died the same way!"

"If you want to know who killed him, I think—besides an employment relationship, we could become partners."

"NO! Even if I agree, you still have to pay me."

"Of course."

Then the two got out of the car and walked toward the villa.

But just as they reached the villa entrance, Griffin stopped and turned his head slightly.

Instantly! A bearded man not far away quickly hid behind a luxury car.

Griffin seemed not to notice him and walked straight into the villa.

The man pulled out his phone, which clearly showed: Boss.

"Did you find him?"

As soon as the call connected, Kay couldn't help asking.

The man spoke quietly.

"I've found his location. He's at a villa complex. There aren't many people around—perfect for making a move."

"Ok! Martin, as my biggest ace, I knew you wouldn't disappoint me."

Martin grinned, "Boss, send people over right away. I'll make it completely silent!"

"That idiot doesn't know what's good for him. Since he won't take what's offered, there's no need to keep him around. And that bitch—I want her alive!"

Martin's mind filled with images of Evelyn's curvy figure, and immediately a certain part of his body reacted.

"God! I love that woman."

An hour later, several cars appeared at the estate entrance.

After getting out, they were all muscular tough guys.

But when they saw Martin, they all bowed their heads respectfully.

Martin brushed the dust off himself.

He had just snuck into the villa.

"You guys, go to the leftmost room on the second floor of the villa. There's no window there. The target is inside."

"Remember, he can really fight. Be careful. Let him die in his sleep."

Several subordinates immediately pulled daggers from their waists, flashing cold light.

"Got it!"

These hitmen were pretty skilled. They cleared the six-foot wall with just a running start.

After sneaking into the room, they stabbed wildly at the bed!

But after a few seconds, someone felt something was wrong.

"Wait!"

He grabbed the blanket and yanked it hard.

He found it only wrapped around two pillows.

"Strange! Where did he go?"

They didn't dare delay and quickly returned the same way, running back to Martin.

"How did it go?"

"He's not there at all!"

"What?"

Martin's eyes widened. He didn't want to admit his surveillance failed, gritting his teeth, "Did that bastard spot us? That shouldn't be possible! I'm pretty confident in my tracking skills!"

"Could it be they're sleeping together? That woman is pretty slutty—maybe she seduced him on purpose!"

Martin ground his teeth.

"Follow me to that woman's room. Kill that bastard to avenge our injured brothers! As for that woman, bring her back!"

The subordinates nodded repeatedly, their eyes full of barely hidden lustful smiles.

But just then, a voice suddenly came from the darkness nearby.

And this voice was full of contempt.

"Do you really have what it takes?"

Instantly, everyone including Martin turned to look.

From the darkness emerged a ghost-like figure.

It was Griffin!

A strange smile hung on his lips as he looked at Martin and these hitmen like he was looking at corpses.

Martin froze!

"When did you spot me? That's impossible!"

Even now, he had absolute confidence in his tracking skills.

But Griffin said calmly, "I spotted you before I even entered the villa. Your methods are really too basic."

Martin's eyes widened.

"How is that possible? No! This isn't real! Then why didn't you just..."

Griffin cut him off.

"If I didn't do it this way, how could I catch all you trash in one net?"

Martin clenched his teeth and fists.

At this moment, he felt deeply insulted.

"Kid, so what? I brought all these people tonight to take your life!"

"Then go ahead and try."

Martin pointed at Griffin's nose.

"Get him! Whoever kills him, I guarantee you'll be well rewarded!"

Hearing this, the subordinates all pulled out daggers from their clothes, pointing them at Griffin.

Several tough guys roared and charged at Griffin!

"Die!"

Ten against one—everyone was confident they could totally beat him.

But just as they rushed up to Griffin.

He suddenly dodged and disappeared!

"What? Where is he!"

"Did I just see things? Why can't I see him anymore?"

"Damn it, this is crazy!"

Just as everyone was confused, someone suddenly screamed.

Then one person after another fell to the ground in pain.

Wherever Griffin appeared, the crisp sound of breaking bones followed.

These hitmen lay on the ground, either with thighs bent at weird angles or arms twisted grotesquely.

In short, in just over ten seconds, all these people were lying on the ground, barely alive.

The whole process was extremely bloody! Brutal!

Martin had a cigar in his mouth, but now it fell to the ground.

He unconsciously opened his mouth wide, unable to believe his eyes.

"God! This—"

"You want to pray for God's protection? I don't think you'll get the chance."

Griffin walked toward Martin step by step.

His pace wasn't fast, just like taking a stroll.

But for Martin, each time he got closer, it was like a hammer blow pounding on his heart.

He unconsciously backed away.

"You damn bastard! Don't come closer, stay back!"

Griffin laughed coldly.

"Weren't you here to kill me? Scared now?"

Martin gritted his teeth.

"Damn it! You really think I'm afraid of you? Then try this!"
