Chapter Five

Aria’s P.O.V

“You’re still a bit stiff if you ask me.”

I rolled my eyes, raising my hand as he helped me up from the floor. Warren pulled me up, his lips pressed into a thin line.

“Would it kill you to actually give me a bit of credit every once in a while?” I glared weakly at him.

“Yes. It actually would kill me.” He admitted like it was some well-known fact. I rolled my eyes again and dusted my pants.

It had been a few years since I left NightCrest Pack and began making plans on how to get my revenge on the pack. Warren had been training and teaching me all the things I would need to know to increase in my prowess as an Alpha. Turns out he was an Alpha himself so that made it even better.

I’d always thought that I already knew a lot of things being an Alpha but Warren had showed me that I did infact know absolutely nothing. I was grateful for meeting him and getting the opportunity to learn so much from him.

Not only had he thought me all I’d need to know to take down NightCrest Pack, he’d revealed something incredible to me. He wasn’t just any ordinary Alpha. He was the Alpha of SilverMoon Pack.

He offered for me to lead the pack along with him. When I weighed out my options and realize that I could get a better chance at destroying Carden with this, I accepted his proposal.

“I think it’s time for us to get going.” I said to Warren.

He nodded his head, his face still having that unreadable expression. It was finally time for me to head back to the pack. There was going to be a meeting in the werewolf council and I planned on making an appearance there.

“Yes. I’m sure you’ve already packed everything you need.” He stared at me with a knowing look in his eyes.

I nodded my head, my gaze falling to my bag which was on the table. All the plans and few notes I’d made from Warren were there too. I already had all of it in my head but I felt it would be a good idea to have them down.

Warren would be following me to the council meeting. I didn’t expect him to agree to go with me but I was grateful for it. He grabbed his own things as well and came up to my side. We exchanged glances and I sent him a nod.

With that, we made our way out of the small house that had served as a training center all these years. I took one final glance at the house before heading down the trail that lead to the main town.

We hired a horse and used it as our means of getting to the werewolf council at River falls. The werewolf council was a central location where different packs would interact. It was a neutral location where fighting was prohibited. It took us the major part of the day to get there but by late afternoon we had already reached River falls.

Warren helped me off the horse and we both stared at the large building. There were a couple of guards at the entrance. Probably to prevent any unnecessary people from entering.

“Let’s head in.” Warren said to me.

We both made our way to the entrance. The guards immediately stopped us with their hand.

“Identify yourself.” One of them said.

Warren and I shared a glance with each other before turning back to the guard. I stepped forward, a stern expression on my face.

“Luna Aria Leloras.” I said to them. “Luna of SilverMoon pack.”

Warren stepped forward to stare at the guard. “We’ll be attending this council meeting.”

The guard held his stare for a couple more seconds before turning to his companion and sent him a nod. With that, the man stepped aside and let us pass. Warren sent him a nod and grabbed my hand.

My heart beat sped up as we made our way further into the building. It wasn’t too bright so it took a bit of time for my eyes to adjust.

“Careful.” Warren said to me as we continued to head further.

I didn’t ask how he knew what direction to take. He’d probably been here before or at least had an idea what direction we were to take.

When we took another corner, the whole place seemed to brighten. We’d entered the inner workings of the building.

“This way.” He led us up a flight of stairs.

I continued after him, my heart beating faster with each step I knew. Carden would be at this meeting. This would be my first time seeing him after all these years. As much as I’d prepared for this day, I still couldn’t control my heartbeat speeding up.

We stopped at two double doors that were being guarded by two hefty looking men. They stepped aside to let us pass. Warren’s grip on my hand tightened as he turned to look at me.

“You ready?” His voice was barely above a whisper.

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” I replied, my voice equally as low.

I took in a deep breath and pushed the doors open. Everybody in the room turned to look at us as we stepped in.

I straightened my posture and walked into the room, my eyes surveying each and every single person in the room. I’d gathered every single attention as all eyes were on me.

My heart skipped a bit when it fell on Carden. The look of shock on his face was priceless as he watched me walk without a limp. I smirked at him before turning to look at Warren. Our hands were still intertwined as we made our way to the available seats.

He pulled out a chair for me and eventually sat down as well. I looked at each and every person present at the meeting. The smile never left my Lips as I spoke my next words.

“Aria Leloras. Let’s get on with this meeting, shall we?”
