Brains For Breakfast
Ricon walked onto the balcony, accompanied by two other guards on either side of him. He stood before his boss and could already tell why he had been brought here and what was coming.
Andre stood up from his seat and Gabriella watched him intently.
“I’ve heard some disturbing things about you from Martha here,”
“I can explain what happened, boss,” Ricon said but Andre cut him off with a raised finger.
“I only have one question for you; did you force yourself on the girl…Yes or no?”
Ricon hid his eyes, unable to stare at his boss. He was terrified and he knew lying was pointless because the surveillance cameras must have caught everything that happened between him and the maid.
“Yes, boss, but I- I was only playing with her. I was never going to take it too far,”
Andre walked around the table and stood in front of the guard. He gave his men a look and the both of them grabbed Ricon’s arms and pushed him down on his knees.
“I’m sorry, boss. But I swear to you, I didn’t take too far,” Ricon began to cry out, pleading for mercy.
“The minute you put your hands on her without her consent, that was as far as you could have gone.”
Andre pulled out his sidearm and shot the weapon straight into Ricon’s head, killing him on the spot.
Gabriella gasped in shock after the gun went off. She got off her chair and placed a hand on her chest in panic. She felt like throwing up after seeing the guard’s brains burst out the back of his head and all the blood that came with it.
Andre turned around and saw the fear in her eyes and decided that now was the best time to interrogate her; now that she was afraid of him. He, however, didn't notice when she slipped a bread knife from the table and hid it behind her dress. She knew to be wary of this man and she wasn't going to let herself be caught unprepared for when he would decide to attack her.
“Take him away and let this be a lesson to you and the others. No one messes around with the maids without their consent. Do you all fucking understand?”
The guards nodded in understanding and carried the dead body of Ricon out of the balcony. Martha bowed her head at him and walked out as well, leaving Gabriella alone with who she now viewed as a cold murderous psychopath.
“So…” Andre said as he walked back to his seat, “where were we before we got interrupted? Oh yeah, I remember. You were about to tell me who you are and what your ties are with the King’s Gold. And don’t even pretend to not know who they are because they wouldn’t have branded you if that was the case,”
"I, um, I- I can't…" Gabriella began to stammer, looking like she was finding it difficult to breathe.
"You can't what?" Andre asked with a raised brow, unshaken by her obvious discomfort. He felt it was a trick she was playing on him just to avoid answering his questions.
"I feel sick. I don't really do so well around blood," she said, unable to keep a straight face.
She got off her seat, ran to the edge of the balcony and began to hurl her insides out over the edge. Andre realised now that she wasn't faking so he got up and called one of his guards to come in and take Gabriella back to her room so she could rest.
“I’ll come over to see you later when you’re feeling better so we can finally talk about our situation, Miss Gabriella,” Andre said to her as she was escorted out of the dining area.
