Chapter 7
Tiffany's POV
After lunch, I couldn't shake the unease gnawing at me. The conversation between Freya and Alexander from this morning left a bad taste in my mouth. After mulling it over, I decided to consult my mother.
Through our mental link, I recounted the events of the past two days. There was a long silence on her end.
"Don't worry. What's there to fear from someone who's been cast out of the pack? Stay calm—she's the one who should be desperate. More importantly, focus on securing Alexander. Even if things come to light later, what's he going to do, blame you?"
"Mom, should I slip him something?"
"You know what I mean. Just remember—use the hallucinogenic herb designed for werewolves, and don't go light on the dose. A powerful Alpha won't go down easy."
My mother's words calmed my nerves, and anticipation for tonight's plan sent excitement coursing through me.
I decided to leave the office and drove toward a nearby neighborhood.
As the door swung open, a figure rushed forward, pulling me into a tight embrace.
"Darling, you finally came to see me. I've missed you so much."
I was feeling generous, so instead of shoving him away like usual, I ruffled his hair with a hint of affection. "Here I am, aren't I?"
Jack's breathing grew heavy as he scooped me up and shut the door behind us.
I didn't resist, letting him hold me close with familiar intimacy.
Jack set me down on the couch, the warm afternoon sunlight bathing us in a golden glow.
His eyes greedily fixated on the cleavage peeking out from my top.
Then he pounced, his chest deliberately pressing against my breasts while his hardness nudged between my thighs, pushing my skirt aside.
He was desperate for me, not even bothering to undress.
I was in such a good mood that I went along with it, even switching positions a few times.
After all, tonight I'd be pleasing my dearest Alex. How could I not get some practice in?
My involuntary moans mingled with Jack's heavy panting as I peeled off my clothes piece by piece.
This drove Jack wild, spurring him into an even more frenzied assault.
Half an hour later, we were both breathless, slumped against the couch.
Jack wrapped his arms around me. "Baby, why do I feel like you're extra sweet today? Is something up?"
I curled up against his chest, keeping my voice light. "Nothing special. Just missed you, that's all. Oh, and I need you to get me some of that hallucinogenic herb—the kind that sends werewolves into heat. I have plans for it."
Jack's face darkened with jealousy. "Who's it for? Don't tell me it's that Alpha…"
Before he could finish, I slapped him hard across the face. With my strength, his cheek instantly swelled red.
I sat up and wiped myself clean, my voice turning ice-cold. "You're just my plaything. You don't even belong to a pack."
Jack's face crumpled, pain and desire warring in his eyes. He was pathetically devoted to me, and we both knew it. "Baby, you know I'd do anything for you. No one loves you like I do."
I smirked and pressed his face under my foot, forcing his gaze right onto my exposed body.
"That devotion is the only reason you're still breathing after what happened years ago. You're useful to me as long as you stay obedient. Don't disappoint me."
Without another word, I stepped over him and headed for the bathroom. I needed to wash away any trace of his scent before seeing Alexander tonight.
When I came out of the shower, the herb was already on the table, but Jack was nowhere to be seen.
He was probably sulking in another room, too jealous to show his face. I didn't care. I pocketed the herb and left.
Back at the office, I made a cup of coffee for Alexander right away.
Caleb was just leaving as I arrived. He greeted me politely before heading out.
"Alex, you must be tired. I made you some coffee," I said sweetly.
I set the cup in front of Alexander and held my breath as he reached for it. Just as he was about to take a sip, he paused and set it down. "Bring me the contract and transfer records for the Glamour Lens project."
My heart lurched. I'd wanted to watch him drink every drop. His sudden request caught me off guard, and I stammered out some excuse before rushing from the room.
Alexander didn't seem to notice my odd behavior.
Outside the room, I saw him lost in thought, and after about ten minutes, the coffee on his desk had gone cold.
He was swamped with work as usual. Eventually, he told Caleb he wouldn't be heading home tonight and to go ahead and leave.
Seeing Caleb depart, I couldn't help but smirk.
I ducked into the bathroom and changed into the lingerie I'd brought—sheer stockings and a blazer that barely covered anything—then returned to his office.
Alexander was visibly startled by my sudden entrance. Before he could say anything, I shrugged off the blazer, kicked off my heels, and let my pale skin gleam in the open air.
I moved toward him slowly, deliberately. First, I glanced at his desk—the coffee cup was empty. Perfect. I let my pheromones fill the air between us.
"You…"
The shock in Alexander's eyes looked like desire to me. I smiled seductively and approached him, one hand stroking his face while the other moved lower, seeking the evidence of his arousal.
As I leaned in closer, just as our lips were about to meet—
Alexander suddenly pulled back, frowning as he asked, "Are you sick?"
I froze. The drug should have taken effect by now.
That herb could bring even a Lycan to their knees, let alone an Alpha werewolf.
Maybe it just needed more time?
Either way, I wasn't leaving here without getting what I came for.
I forced myself to slow down. Instead of pouncing on him, I stepped back and began to move, letting my hips sway hypnotically.
My hands slowly trailed down my body, caressing from my chest to my waist, then lower still.
At the same time, I gazed at Alexander with hazy, lust-filled eyes, continuously releasing my pheromones.
Seeing him stay silent, I figured the drug was about to take effect.
I circled him like a hunter stalking prey, occasionally brushing against him or whispering in his ear. The tension in the room was electric. He was still a man—he had to break eventually.
But just as I got close, he shoved me away with force, a flash of disgust in his eyes.
Caught off guard, I stumbled and fell to the floor.
I was stunned, tears welling up instantly. "Alex, do you really hate me that much?"
"What happened five years ago was an accident. I've given you everything since then. But this..." Alexander's face was unreadable as he shrugged off his jacket and threw it at me. "Don't do this again."
"Alex, I've loved you for so many years. Can't you see how much I care? Why won't you give me a chance?" I sobbed, looking utterly pitiful.
But Alexander's expression didn't soften. After five years of my devotion, he knew exactly how I felt about him.
I watched his throat work as if he wanted to say something more, but all that came out was, "I'm going home. You should too."
I stayed sprawled on the cold floor until the door clicked shut behind him. Then my tears dried up, and fury took their place.
Jack! You treacherous bastard, giving me fake drugs!
And Freya, you lucky bitch, enjoy it while it lasts. I'm far from done with you!
