Chapter 5 - I Love You

Sienna's P.O.V.

Mav and I walk around the pack house so I can show him where everything is. When we go to our bedroom, he looks nervously from the bed to me.

"I won't touch you in any way you don't want me to," he says. My poor, sweet giant mate, he's the strongest man I've ever met physically, but emotionally, he's got a lot to learn. I'm pretty sure I'll be the one touching him before he does me.

"You don't scare me." I put my hand on his cheek and stand on my tiptoes to kiss him. He's getting more sure of himself in the kissing department. The way he wraps his massive arms around me makes me feel safe. When we need air, he smiles and lightly touches my cheek.

"You're so soft." I smile and kiss him again. I can't wait until he's ready for more. We finish walking through the pack house, and I ignore the people who stare at us. When we get outside, there are more stares, and the she-wolves look Mav up and down like he's a piece of meat. Okay, now it's time to set them straight.

"Everyone, come to the front of the pack house now." I use my alpha tone so they will come quickly.

"I mindlinked everyone to come for a meeting. I want to tell them who you are." Mav looks around nervously, and I squeeze his hand in reassurance. He has nothing to fear from the pack. If they come near him, they'll be put in the dungeon. Once everyone is gathered, I look around, catching Diego's eye in the back of the crowd.

"Thank you for coming so quickly. I wanted to inform you that I have met my mate. His name is Maverick, and he will be your Beta once we mark each other. You will treat him with respect, and if I see anything that causes me concern, you'll be put in the dungeon." I glare at the she-wolves, and they look away. If they dare come near my man, it won't be the dungeons for them. It will be a grave.

"Wasn't he sent here to kill you?" One of the elders asks. I look at him and narrow my eyes.

"You sound disappointed that I'm still alive. Do you have something to say?" He tries to keep his eyes on mine, but my Alpha aura is too much for him, so he looks down.

"I am done with your disrespect and sneakiness. I have to fight the King, and it looks like I have to fight my own pack. You have seen me throw your friends and family members in the dungeons. Would you like to join them? If you continue as you are, you will no longer be part of this pack, and I will treat you as rogues. Do any of you have anything to say?" I keep my voice calm even though I feel like screaming.

"You're a woman. Just like your mom, you don't deserve to be Alpha. You should be lying in bed spreading your legs for your mate." I look at the man speaking, and before the warriors can get to him, Mav jumps off the porch, grabs the man by the neck, and throws him onto the ground in front of where I stand on the porch.

"You will not disrespect my mate like that. Do I make myself clear?" The man nods with his face in the dirt. Mav lifts him to his knees by his hair. "Apologize to your Alpha now."

"I… I'm… I'm sorry, Alpha." He stutters out. Mav lifts him again and throws him to the warriors, who take him to the dungeon. When Mav returns to my side, I feel like kissing him. We present a united front, and for once, I can breathe because I know he has my back.

"I hope that was okay," he whispers. I take his hand and smile.

"That was more than okay." Should I tell him that seeing him like that made me want to take him to the bedroom and rip his clothes off?

"Does anyone else have anything to say?" I look around, but no one will meet my glare. "That's what I thought. You're free to go."

"What made you do that?" I ask Mav, leaning against the porch railing.

"When I heard him speaking to you like that, it reminded me of what I'd heard my whole life. I was always told I was worthless and couldn't be anything other than a monster. That kind of talk can get others to join in. It happened to me many times. I thought it was best to stop it right away and make an example out of him." I wrap my arms around him and kiss him hard as he puts his arms around me, holding me tight. I feel his erection pushing against me when I slide my tongue into his mouth, and I know we need to stop. We're on the porch, and many pack members are still milling around. When I pull away I look into his gorgeous green eyes.

"I love you, Mav," I whisper to him. He holds me tighter and buries his face in my neck.

"I love you, too."
