Excited to be the new Assistant

Hillary's POV

I knew after all the bragging, I still had to agree with Travis. This was the only way I felt like I could avoid my Dad.

I watched Travis as he jumped back through the window. What was this dude anyways? His car made a turn and glided out of the area.

A billionaire, a bipolar, burglar oriented and everything and more. How dare he track me down.

I flinched searching my body. Could he have placed another tracker?

No. Hillary. He has your contact already. Hold the fucking phone. I have the contact of a fucking Billionaire. Travis Lancaster. Oh my gosh. I smiled and bounced on my bed when my phone rang.

Ooooh. Someone remembers to call today.

“Helloooo princess Bridget of Bergen town.” I sang and her laugh almost destroyed the loudspeaker.

“Hey. Wassup with you?”

“I guess I'm okay.”

I narrated the whole Travis telling me to work at his company.

“Oh my gosh. That's so huge. Are you serious?”

“I am.” I giggled.

“How about Victoria?” My happiness died the moment she mentioned Victoria. How do I avoid hearing that name without feeling any surge of fear of nervousness?

“Well, Victoria shouldn't stop me from working. I'm not doing anything wrong and he made me understand they're not dating.”

“Hmm, well, thanks to me for suggesting that you go as Tessa Fowler. I guess it wasn't so bad.”

I laughed. “Yeah, right. Credit goes to you.”

We talked for some minutes before I realized I had to sleep and prepare for what lies ahead tomorrow. I had to check on the kids one more time before I went to sleep. They were alright. I wondered what my Dad would be doing with his girlfriend and wife. Wife, hmmm.

My body trembled for a while and I inhaled sharp breaths.

Was it really happening? The transition from working as a maid to a higher level.

Stop thinking Hillary. Go to sleep!

I closed my eyes and my body gave in.

The next morning, as early as hell, I had the kids take their bath and dressed up for school. Mrs Veronica was still upstairs while I was feeling the kids over the table.

I was impatient waiting for her to come down.

I soft gasp escaped my lips when I realized she and my father cascaded down the stairs together.

‘Suck it! Suck my Dick!’

That was the only thing that clouded my mind—I couldn't unhear it and it was bad.

“Good morning mama.” The kids ran to hug Mrs Veronica and she hugged them. I had to avert my eyes not to look at my Useless father.

Ever since what he did the other night, I literally labeled him—a monster.

“Let's go shall we?”

She suggested that I carry their bags.

“I wanna come too. Can I?” My Dad asked, feeling up and cheerily.

No Mrs Veronica. Do not let this man come with us.

“Of course honey. You should know the kids' school.”

Crap.

My thoughts drift to his relationship with the kids. I haven't heard them address him as “Dad.” This sounds like an issue. Had Mrs Veronica helped him escape or something? Was he even sentenced? Oh shit. I knew nothing. And I think I deserved to know the truth. What really happened and what really is going on.

We all entered the car and drove in silence.

After I escorted the kids to their school, I went back into the car. Every step was insecure.

Imagine working for a lady that didn't know her boyfriend from jail is your own biological father.

My phone vibrates against my hands. Travis. I gulped, resting my head on the car chair. My eyes met with the rearview mirror and I saw his eyes. He was smiling.

That same smile from the other night. I couldn't help but feel traumatized. That part was hunting me badly.

“So Hillary? How are things?”

My overcrowded mind jolts back to life. “ Well, things are really good. Thank you for asking.”

“You know you told me before that you were looking for a job.”

Oops. Yup, that's right.

“Well, did you get one?”

This was my chance. Come on. Say it.

“Well, yes I did and um, I know I'm also taking care of the house and kids but um… I'll make sure I don't miss any single duties. I can multitask.”

“Why didn't you tell me you got the job already?”

My hands moved nervously. Dad was still smiling. Christ. This was oppressing. I had to take in sharp breaths.

“I just got it.” I confessed.

“What job?” She turned to me smiling. She was really happy for me? Wow.

“Um…. secretary.” I lied. No way I would tell anyone I work for the almighty Travis Lancaster. That was my secret.

“Secretary at a perfume company.” The words just blurts out of nowhere. I wasn't thinking when I said that.

“Okay.”

“Is that a yes. Ma'am”

“Of course but failure to keep up with your work would result in consequences. This means you're going to multitask.”

“I can take permission from work to take the kids back home. You don't have to worry about that. Ma'am. I'm punctual and I promise to be serious with my jobs.”

“Fine. Good.”

…………... .The moment we arrived home, I didn't even waste time running back. I'm not taking any chances to look into that man's face.

I received a text from Travis.

“Should I come pick you up?”

“No..no. please. I'd rather come meet

You.’

I waited for his reply. Travis shouldn't come here. He shouldn't be seen. Especially not by my father.

“I'm sending Marcus over. I just sent

Him your location.”

That's better. I sighed. I needed something to wear. I pulled out a white corporate sleeve and navy green skirt. Also, the shoes Bridget gave me. I smiled while wearing them. I hope I won't look too local on this.

Marcus called me and after we talked, I grabbed my bag. I guess he was around the street. I ran out but something got me scared.

Just before I opened the door of the car, I saw him—watching. Just stood like a doll from the window. Intense gaze and piercing and I gulped and sat inside quickly.

“Good morning Hillary.” Marcus chimes.

“Hello sir.” I smiled and the car moved. Finally, We were away. After some minutes, we arrived at the great magnificent caster events.

Wow. Not my first time here but I don't mind saying wow a million times.

Marcus led me in and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I remember so well how I came here because of the interview and how bad it ended. I had to stifle a laugh.

An embarrassing one.

When Travis and I stare at ourselves like we've seen a ghost and how I also met Victoria.

Ughh. We both used the elevator and finally arrived at a door in which Marcus used his fingers to open.

Biometric. I see.

The heavenly doors opened and we ended up in a very sleek, massive room

“This is sir Travis's executive suite. Private.”

My mouth opened and refused to close. Everything was screaming luxury.

“Just wait here. Take a seat. He's going to be here anytime soon.”

“Okay.” My eyes roamed round and Marcus left.

“Wow.” I whispered moving to the tall massive windows. I gasped. Laughing like a fool. I could see all the skyscrapers, water, the highway and everything.

“Good to see you. Hillary.”

I turned to see Travis walk in. Ooh. That smile of his.
