Chapter 11 Arsonist

Benjamin was floored, "No way, are you for real?"

Zoey was munching on some fruit, her cheeks puffed out adorably, but her expression was ice-cold. "Why would I lie to you?"

So smug! Benjamin couldn't stand her acting all high and mighty. He clenched his teeth and said, "Fine, we'll be waiting for your good news then!"

Zoey just ignored him again.

Benjamin gritted his teeth, not buying Zoey's claim at all. Dr. K was a total enigma, impossible to sway, and this girl thought she could change Dr. K's mind? What a joke!

"Watch out, your fiancée is nothing but trouble!" Benjamin muttered.

Henry's hazel eyes flicked over to him, "If it's impossible, why bother taking it seriously?" Clearly, he didn't believe Zoey either.

Zoey overheard everything but didn't bother to explain. The truth would come out at the press conference.

In the morning, Benjamin yawned as he came downstairs, not seeing Zoey. He clicked his tongue, "Wow, it's this late and she's still not up, so lazy."

Unexpectedly, Terry and Jesse came down from upstairs, both giving him looks of extreme disdain. He shivered under their gazes.

The next second, Zoey walked in from outside, still in her workout clothes, her face flushed from exercise, carrying a few cups of warm lattes.

"Zoey, went for a run again today?" Jesse asked warmly.

"Yeah, it's a habit." Zoey now felt off if she didn't run every day.

Benjamin felt a bit embarrassed about his earlier comment. He quietly sat down to eat.

After breakfast, Jesse told Henry, "You take Zoey to school."

Henry's face was cold, and he didn't say anything. But his refusal was pretty obvious.

Zoey elegantly wiped the corner of her mouth. "No need, a car's picking me up. I'm heading to school now." She turned and left gracefully after speaking.

Jesse glared at Henry, "Can't you take the initiative?"

Henry stayed silent, thinking, 'Can't Jesse see that Zoey doesn't care about me at all?'

Jesse cursed and went upstairs.

Zoey drove a low-key car and got out at the school gate, arriving just in time, and strolled onto the campus.

Suddenly, she sensed someone watching her. She looked back but saw nothing unusual.

Zoey smiled playfully, unhurriedly stepping onto the campus, hoping that person would show up soon, that would be interesting.

At the street corner, the man patted his chest, "That was close, almost got caught."

Robert thought his lackey was useless, giving him a disdainful look, lost in thought.

"Mr. Phillips didn't come to drop her off today. Mr. Davis, I heard he's getting engaged."

"To whom?" Robert asked.

"Don't know, it's pretty mysterious, seems like someone brought by the head of the Phillips Family, definitely not from our circle."

"Looks like Mr. Phillips is just playing with her." Robert thought of Zoey's beautiful face and curvaceous body, feeling a pang of desire. He had seen many beauties but none as stunning as her.

Robert pulled his lackey over and whispered a few words. The lackey gave a lewd smile, "Got it, I'll make sure you get the girl."

At noon, Zoey and Emma went out for lunch, seeing a crowd gathered at the entrance, noisy and chaotic. She didn't plan to join the commotion and was about to take a detour.

Someone shouted, "Zoey's here!"

The crowd parted to make way, exposing Zoey and Emma, with Robert at the end of the path.

Dressed to the nines, hair slicked back with gel, holding a bouquet of roses, and surrounded by heart-shaped candles flickering in the wind.

"Zoey, go out with me!" He had this confident look, like he couldn't even imagine Zoey saying no.

The crowd went wild with chatter and comments.

"Wow, so romantic."

"But isn't he dating the school beauty?"

"Yeah, but Zoey's way prettier. It's normal to change his mind."

Under everyone's gaze, Zoey looked at Robert's greasy face and lecherous eyes, feeling annoyed. She coldly asked, "Are you leaving or not?"

"No, you haven't accepted me yet. Be my girlfriend! I'll give you money, buy you whatever you want, Zoey, I really like you."

Though he was professing his love, his eyes were scanning her body with ill intentions. His lust was obvious.

"Not leaving? Don't regret it then." Zoey smiled.

Robert was stunned by her beauty.

Zoey made a call, "Someone is trying to start a fire at the school entrance, please send someone to handle it quickly."

Robert was dumbfounded, "What did you say?"

Zoey's smile remained, but with a hint of malice, "Let me give you some advice, don't be so showy when going after a girl. If she rejects you, it's really embarrassing."

The school authorities arrived quickly. Though Robert was a wealthy young master, his status was useless when it came to school safety, and he was taken away.

The carefully arranged candles were all extinguished and thrown into the trash. The roses didn't escape either.

The entrance fell silent, those who had been exclaiming about the romance were now speechless, not expecting the new school beauty to be so ruthless!

Robert was dragged away, losing a shoe in the process.

Zoey was about to leave when a figure rushed towards her, trying to slap her. Zoey easily blocked the hand.

Vivienne's jealous, hateful face was reflected in her eyes. "You bitch, seducing my boyfriend, are you that desperate for men? Isn't Mr. Phillips enough for you? Does he know how slutty you are?"

Zoey tightened her grip, making Vivienne cry out in pain, her face turning pale. "Remember what I said last time?" Zoey's voice was soft, but it instantly brought Vivienne back to that bathroom. Her head started to ache again.

Right, how could she forget, this woman was a lunatic!

Zoey released her slender fingers, and Vivienne fell to the ground as if struck by a blow.

Zoey's red lips parted, "Get lost."

"I'm not letting you get away with this; you'll get what's coming to you!" Vivienne spat out harsh words, scrambling to her feet and running away.

'What's coming to me?' Zoey sneered. She never believed in that, only in herself.

After the afternoon classes, Zoey went home. As she approached her bedroom, she heard noises inside.

Someone was in her room. Her eyes turned cold, and she pushed the door open.

The scene inside was quite ridiculous, the suitcase was open, clothes scattered everywhere, and Luna was stepping on her clothes, holding a gold-embossed invitation. "Zoey, where did you get this invitation?"

Timothy and Hazel were also there, watching as Zoey's things were messed up.

Seeing Zoey, Hazel's face was full of disgust. "Must be stolen, we need to discipline you properly. Timothy, let's use the family rules to teach her a lesson. Even if we beat her to death, we must correct her bad habits!"

The King's family rule was a 4-foot-long cane, thin and long, with some years on it.

This thing was particularly harsh, leaving red and swollen marks that hurt with the slightest touch, taking dozens of days to heal.

Timothy held the cane, glaring at Zoey, "Kneel down!"
