Determined to make his relationship with Adeline work he pays the ransom. He attempts to learn more about Adeline. As the king leaves, he invites them to a ball to celebrate their marriage. Cecelia shows up mad that she was not on the guest list. She demands to speak to Alexander. After the ball Alexander must go into battle.
